Well, I've read most of your guys' posts, and here's what I think... -- Jimenez is our lead-off hitter. The only way we move him IMO is if he continues to struggle. Give him the Seattle series and we'll see what things look like after that. -- If Harris is going to be in the line-up, we need to put him in a position to succeed, and hitting lead-off would not be a good spot for him to start at initially. We also need to put him in a position where his speed can be utilized. As someone suggested, if we move him into the #2 hole, we could move Jose down to the lower part of the line-up and break up our righties. I say we put Harris #2, and Jose #6. -- Frank and Magglio should stay where they are. No problems there. -- Olivo #2? C'mon. His OBP is .240. That is horrid. I think he'll come around, don't get me wrong. As some of you suggested, once he gets comfortable, he'll be just fine, but as of right now he's nothing but a #9 hitter. A pretty good #9 hitter, yes, but on this team, a definite #9. -- As far as PK and Lee go, I think we should have Konerko #5, and Lee #7. As Jason said, PK is starting to come around, so I think we should give him the higher spot in the line-up. And Lee, I think, would benefit from hitting after Jose. -- By default, Crede would be our #8. So, here they are... 2B Jimenez CF Harris DH Thomas RF Ordonez 1B Konerko SS Valentin LF Lee 3B Crede C Olivo

Why are you quoting him in a way that takes his comments out of context? That's a big no-no. Anyway, I agree with Bmr in this "debate", which shouldn't really even be a debate. The bottom line, though, is that if people would start being responsible for their own actions and take the necessary precautions, diseases like AIDS (and all other STD's, for that matter) would cease to exist.

Head case? I don't think I'd go that far. John Rocker -- that's a head case. Koch is just a fierce competitor who was upset at himself. And I'm sure it's an accumulation of anger that he let out at once. He's been bad for a month now -- it's time he kicks it into gear.

Listerine prides themselves on saying that using it will eliminate 99.9% of germs. What they don't tell you is that the .1% that it's ineffective on is jizz. :puke -

If I wanted to be part of a gang bang, I'd go down to Chatsworth, CA and sign up for one. Any chick that's had dozens of rods in her mouth and up her ass, I don't want ANY part of. -

I don't associate with those people. Some things you just know about without having to experience it first-hand. I know that there are gangs out there that drive around town and kill rival gang members and do drugs. Does that mean I associate with them? Nope. And of course it's nasty -- complete unacceptability. -

, yeah, you're right. Some chicks will blow 15 guys by the age of 18 and still claim to be "virgins". Or some will even give their butt to a guy and they STILL think they're a virgin. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. So, Heather, are you a 21st century virgin, or an old school virgin? Old school Heh...thank you for clearing that up. -
Lets start a petition to get rid of Rowand...

LMAO! That earns Aaron an extra week in the majors IMO. -
10 years, right clujer.. 10 years? No. Let me think.... I say he should go to jail for this. Let's say...3 years, parole after 2 if he's "good". Cruelty to animals, endangered or not, should be punished heavily. It's just sick to harm a defenseless animal who was not threatening anybody or anything.

Nobody is talking about world figures. We're talking about US figures since, to be honest, that's all that most of us care about since they are more relevant to our lives.
-
who would you be afraid of being attracted to? What a completely baseless argument.

And of course, all your data to back your claim is so... so.... oh yeah, not present. Bmr is right. In the US, homosexual sex is the #1 spreader of HIV. #2 is heterosexual sex. #3 is through exposure to blood or other body fluids (sharing needles). Also on the list are blood transfusions (nowadays it's a 1 in 100,000 occurance), and an uncommon way is through tissue or organ transplantation or by the mixing of blood after a serious accident. Women also give their unborn babies HIV. There is medication to help prevent this nowadays, though. Source -- www.ivillagehealth.com

I don't have a problem with what Jones said. I think he feels the same way that most other players in baseball do, but they don't have the sack (or lack of brains since it's bad for PR) to say so. Having an openly gay player on a team WOULD be a huge distraction, and I don't think a gay player should make his sexuality an issue. At the same time, to suggest that pitchers would "throw at his head" is a bit wrong. Nobody should be a victim of head-hunting (no pun intended). Jones is right -- he shouldn't have made him comments public, but he shouldn't be crucified for his opinions, just as a homosexual shouldn't be crucified for his lifestyle choices.

Simply disgusting. That motherf***er will get his one day -- hopefully from Bubba in Cell 5, because anyone who would do something like that has severe psychological problems, and they normally end up in prison.

Looks like the Royals are going to lose today. They're down 5-2 to Boston in the bottom of the 8th. Their bullpen had a lead and again couldn't hold it.
-
We add a 20 game winner and a 40 save closer, lose 0 of our main players, and are hosting the AS game, and our attendance basically stays the same? That is a problem.

6,000 under the AL average. Nice.

Well, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who believes in personal responsibility and stiff penalties for those who display none.

Not perfect at all. However, I've never attacked a defenseless human being from behind. And I've never said anything about people who drink beer. I think beer tastes like sewer water, but if someone else likes it, cool. We'll meet in the middle. You say 30 days for assaulting an innocent man, and I say 10 years. 1841.25 days for them (or, 5 years and 15 days). 10 years may sound harsh, and maybe it is -- but we need to be proactive in this country when it comes to crime. Now that this appears to be a more-than-once-in-a-blue-moon occurance, we can stop further incidents before they start. Stiff and serious jail sentences would, IMO, accomplish that. That's more story, and I'm st-st-sticking to it.
-
He's probably clean now because he knows he's still not out of the frying pan. In 2 years when everyone's forgotten about this idiot, we'll see if he's still clean. 30 days for assault? You're joking, right? 10 years. *still not laughing*

They did a "wacky facts" thing about the first few weeks of the baseball season, and #1 involved Loaiza. He's got as many wins as Maddux, Pedro, and Randy combined (5).

I'm sure the comments will flow after this post.. Go ahead, lash out at me. I can take it.. But... The guy made a mistake. He, unlike the newest douchebag idiots, apologized several times. He did not use his life misfortunes (his sister did) to excuse the incident. He called himself an idiot, etc, etc.. Has been in a program and has stayed clean (which in itself is a huge accomplishment). He's going to get community service and probation (thanks to Gamboa). Is it enough.. imo, no, but it is what it is. Hopefully the guy stays clean and uses this incident to right the wrong path he was obviously on. People make mistakes (see the "stupidest thing you've ever done thread" ). That's all. Now I'm assuming we're talking about the f***ers who attacked the Royals' first base coach last season -- right? Anyway, I'll weigh in on that... The two should be in prison. Two men assaulting an innocent man who had his backed turned -- not many things are more cowardly than that. I say 10 years each -- NO parole. And oversleeping an missing a Sox game on TV is a "mistake" -- blindsiding and attacking another human being is a choice -- and a very poor one at that. 10 years no parole. You're funny clujer. Heh, I'm not laughing. I'm serious. People need to learn that actions such as those aren't going to be taken lightly, and giving each of them 10 years would teach them a ROUGH lesson, and would make every person who considers doing something like that think it over before hand instead of making a primative decision. What's the deal with those 2 anyway? Were they drunk or high when they attacked Gamboa, or are they naturally stupid?

If you're talking about for 1 person, the record is 11. Roberto Hernandez, Jeff Shaw, and Curtis Leskanic have all done it. No year listed. For a team, the most is 30 (American League team -- doesn't specify which one). Hope that is helpful.
