JOE COWLEY RIPS kw TO SHREDS!!!..PLAYERS TOO
clujer420 replied to baggio202's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Inarguably one of the most racist people in America today. -
Hey speaking of this, how has Magic lived so long? Does anyone know? Simple -- he was able to afford the best medication from the very beginning. In 1991, the drugs that he was using was top of the line, and was far too expensive for your average HIV infected person to buy. Nowadays, the medicine has dropped drastically in price, so it's becoming a much more survive-able virus. But, back in the day, most couldn't afford the medicine that was most effective, so as a consequence a lot of people died. Magic's level of HIV/AIDS is undetectable in blood tests. So, for all intents and purposes, he doesn't have it.

Sure. We could also fire Kimm, Santana, Cooper, bullpen coaches, our trainers, and anyone else you can think of. It's not at all practical to get rid of too many at once, but of course it can be done.
-
Was that supposed to be funny? If you can't think of anything better to say than that to try and coax a laugh out of us, please refrain from trying in the future. Magic Johnson has done a lot for inner-city children, and by all accounts is an extremely kind human being. When he announced that he had HIV, everyone thought he would be dead by now. That's because in 1991, the general population had a SEVERE lack of knowledge about HIV and AIDS. Magic's announcement raised awareness about this disease, and probably made millions take the necessary precautions to prevent contracting it. :fyou for trying to make a joke at the expense of a good man like the Magic man.

Good Article, I have said since I joined here in January KW was over his head. I have heard through 4 different sources KW was NO MORE than Schueler's coffee boy, he contributed nothing to orginazation, whether they should of keeped D.Evans as GM or not is debatable ,but what is not is KW should of NEVER been given the job and JR gave KW the job because JR and Selig are on the Minority hiring Committee for MLB and was pressured by Selig to have a minority GM to go along with a minority Manager. In turn Selig had Milwaukee hire J.Royster as minority manager of the Brewers around the same time. I'm so sick of this s***. Why is it so important to have minorities managing/coaching/owning teams in today's sports world? Who gives a f*** what color someone is? Why do minorities (mainly blacks in this case) feel the need to cry and b**** and moan about "having so few" in those positions? Isn't it enough for them that a large percentage of baseball (and other sports) is played by minorities? And why is it that if I, as a white man, say "there should be more white people in sports", I am called a racist. Yet, when a black man says "there should be more black people in sports", he's "got a vision of how modern sports should be"? :fyou people who focus so much on race. Just live your f***ing lives and stop worrying about what others are doing and what color someone is. Shut the god damned f*** up, because YOU are the ones that are racist. Motherf***ers. :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou -
Well you said you told your dad that he shouldn't be rooting for the Lakers since you live in TX now. Sounds like a homer to me -- maybe not? And anyway, Bo too was my favorite player as a child, and like you, he's the reason I started following the Sox.

If there's going to be a chat room, could someone please post a link? Thanks in advance!
-
Rooting for a team soley based upon where you live is gay. :fyou Homers Damn straight, been in Cali all my life and I'll never root for the damn Lakers. I've seen you in the nose bleed seats at Staples many times Jason, cut the games. You're the biggest Clipper fan this side of the Mississippi.

Heh, I'm the opposite. I leave for work at around 7 PM, so I have to miss the WC games. I prefer when they're in Chicago or further east.

Who knows. I'm in LA County, so I suppose it's possible that ESPN would have a different programming schedule. Why, I don't know. I'm just glad we won. I was tuning into the Angel/Indian game to see if I could get an update, and all I heard was "leads it 5-1. Miguel Tejada with a HR for the A's...", and I was thinking "god f***ing dammit", then the announcer continued "for their only run". Guess I shouldn't have assumed huh?

I'm tryin!! This damn cold is kicking my ass!! I should be back to normal by the weekend. I can relate to that! It's like...upper 60's and partly cloudy today here in "sunny" So Cal.

I see that you're as witty today as usual. Anyway, I decided to look up D'Angelo's stats for kicks, and I don't really understand WTF Michelle is talking about. She said something to the effect that Miles "couldn't do worse than Jimenez is doing". I'm too lazy to go back and find the exact quote, and if someone else said that (and not Michelle), my deepest apologies. However, I know that she'd want Miles up here if possible. .308 avg, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 15 runs, .403 OBP, .542 SLG, 17 BB, 14 K, 3 errors I don't know what planet Michelle lives on to think that those aren't VERY good and very acceptable numbers.

Your good fortune is my misfortune... I had to leave for work a little before 7 PM, so I set my VCR timer to record the game on FSN (via my MLB Extra Innings package). When I got home this morning, NOTHING recorded. Well, a black screen did. Apparently it was blacked out due to it being on ESPN 2 (which I didn't find out about until this morning ) Oh well, at least I'll get to see today's game.

Ya know, it's getting a little late in the season (about 1/5 of the way through) for PK to be struggling as much as he is. What's the story?!
-
To me, was the performance of Esteban Loaiza. He was coming off his first bad start of the season, and by the looks of it (I missed the game ) he rebounded very nicely. 6 IP and 2 ER is solid, I think we will all agree. After all the talk of his May flops in the past, I was a bit worried about how he would respond to a little adversity. But, he put that loss out of his mind and pitched like we're going to need him to pitch. Now, let's hope Jon can give us an equally good performance today so we can take the series.

You know... When Jose first spoke out against baseball and the like, I really was interested. I thought it was a genuine story, and I thought it was intriguing. But, the more I heard him, the more I thought he is just bitter about how his career turned out. In the late 80's, this man was a MONSTER, steroids or not. He was just a freak of nature, and should have been a sure-fire HOF'er. However, his career took a serious turn, and I doubt we'll ever see him give a HOF induction speech. His recent antics will, IMO, for sure keep him out of the hallowed halls of Cooperstown.

So it's OK to have a prick on our roster as long as he's not taking the place of your beloved Aaron Miles?
-
So by the same logic, JM isn't to blame for the Sox poor play so far in '03 -- the players are. Seems like you're blaming JM, though. Which is it man? If you hope the Sox lose the rest of the games this season just so Manuel can be fired, you are not a Sox fan. That is just stupid.

She stated she was single, you took that to mean she had failed relationships. Passing judgement.. wrong phrase - ASSuming.. better? My friendship with HSC has nothing to do with my reply. Had you made an ASSumption about anyone I would have responded the same. And finally.. yes the rose colored glasses comment is most definitely warranted. When you find that soulmate of yours.. and you're together 5, 7, or 10 years and things are still as rosey as you are describing today.. then you come tell me and I'll take all of this back. It was in no way an insult but that you took it that way shows your lack of maturity (which isn't an attack.. you're just not ready for love & marriage). Maybe sometime in the year 2010 or so the Sox will be in the WS out here in CA and you can bring your hubby and I'll bring my wifey and the 4 of us will root on the Good Guys. And you are most definitely right. I am not ready for marriage now. I've only been with my girlie for about 2 1/2 years. I figure another 3 years or so and I might be ready to make a life-long commitment. We'll see how things go. Finally, I did assume that Michelle had a failed marriage. By that, obviously I meant it ended in divorce. Was in incorrect?
-
Naive? I disagree. Time will tell. As for the rest -- fair enough.
-
Where did I pass judgement on her life choices? I said that as long as she's happy now, that's what's important. I then moved on and made general statements about life and about marriage. No mention of anyone specific. And if she was married and her husband indeed did die, then that really sucks. But, I'm not going to apologize for anything because I did not say anything disrespectful. As Michelle said, she has her opinion and I have mine, and like I said at the end of my post, whatever works is fine. Don't let your friendship with Michelle distort what I said. Also, don't try to insult me just because I have a positive view of love and marriage. Saying things like "take off those rose colored glasses" is unwarrented and uncalled for.
-
Wow. Sounds like you haven't had much success in terms of relationships. Don't misconstrue this as an attack, because it's not. But to say things like "I come and go as I please" and "I don't answer to anyone", it sounds like you probably went through a bad divorce or 2. But, if you're happy now, that's a good thing. I believe that if you marry the right person, you can have a family and be FULLY happy in life. That's not to say that you can't live a very happy and prosperous life otherwise. Why couldn't you do all the things you mentioned ("come and go as I please", "sit around and watch the Sox all summer", etc) if you were married? If you view marriage as a "ball and chain" scenario, then I think you just haven't met the right person. But, you're still young enough to do so -- if you're willing! And I wouldn't want someone "by my side 24/7". But to know that someone loves you and has made a vow to be with you until death, there's nothing better IMO. Old fashioned? Maybe. Naive? Nah. Correct? I think so. But, as you said, whatever works.

Actually clujer.. if ya go take a look he put 750.000. Looks like 750. with one to many zero's. So he makes $750 a year?! What does he do, mow his mom's lawn once a week? I think he meant $750,000. The "." is right next to the ",". Who knows/cares.
