  1. No. We lost 3-0 on opening day. MB went 7 and gave up 2 and got the L.
  2. And I've noticed that sometimes, Bmr will CAPITALIZE the first word of his post.
  3. With Boston looking at Williamson (and help in the bullpen in general), it would be SWEET if the Sox could swoop in and get Williamson, then pawn Koch off on the Red Sox. That would kill 2 birds with 1 stone -- we'd greatly improve our bullpen, and we'd cut payroll so we could resign guys like Colon and Robbie Alomar in the off-season.
  4. Jason, if we could have either a 5th starter or 2 relievers, I'd take the 2 relievers. To me, we can get by with the 4 starters we have, and just hope for a big offensive day when our #5 is out there. Also, someone mentioned the other day that our #5 is only going to have like 6 starts the rest of the season, and I think one of those was on Sunday. So, throwing a guy like Ginter or Glover out there 5 more times isn't going to make or break our season. As far as our bullpen goes, there are really only 3 guys that JM seems to have faith in, and that will catch up to us soon if we don't get them some help.
  5. Yeah im all freaked out about it. Now i got 2 reasons why i want the sox to win badly. IMO, baseball is not the sport to bet on. When you bet on a game, it adds a lot of excitement to it, but baseball doesn't exactly lend itself to sitting on the couch, getting drunk, and cheering while watching it. To me, betting on football and basketball is much more fun. I bet on it strictly for profit. Im not even gonna watch it. WTF? Will you have the ability to watch it? If so, why wouldn't you watch?
  6. Maybe I got my hopes up after the way he performed at the end of last year. I expected him to drop off a little, but to go from a SLG in the .500's to a SLG in the .300's is quite a drop off. Also, he isn't walking nearly enough, and has very little speed. The only thing keeping him in the majors is his defense.

  8. Not really strange at all, IMO. We need bullpen help, and Crede isn't doing much of anything at 3B. Boone's hitting .275 with 18 HR and 65 RBI, and Williamson has an ERA of 3.19 with 21 saves and 53 K's in 42.3 IP. Crede is fine at third, the Reds are probably only interested in minor leaguers. We can't afford to give up much more at our minor league level. Williamson would be a solid addition, but I still think we can get Jarvis from San Diego and not Aaron Boone. CWSOX45 A .226 BA and .280 OBP is "fine"? I'm not saying give up on him by any stretch, but perhaps some time in the minors will remind him how to swing the bat. I want to keep Crede up here, he has been terrific defensively. His average is improving also with runners in scoring position. Last year Crede got hot in August, history should repeat itself. If we get Boone fine, just as long as Kenny doesn't give away Reed and other future stars. CWSOX45 Eh, I don't know. We don't really need him to produce offensively, but it sure would be nice. You're right, his D has been very nice lately. But, if the Sox are going to make anymore moves, I hope we get either a 5th starter or some help for our 'pen, because we're going to need it down the stretch. The offense is either going to be there or it won't be -- we have the guys, just let em gel. Adding another bat really wouldn't make all that much sense I guess.
  9. LOL. is my favorite smiley. It says so little, yet says so much.
  10. Kids at 14 or 15 usually dont know what they like. The last thing they need is to be influenced to become or be gay.........let kids go through their teen years and figure out who they are on their own. Thank-f***ing-you. Exactly what I was trying to say in my post.
  11. And thus begins the degenerative behavior of a new Vegas resident. At least if we lose we'll know who to blame.

    The Lion King

"King of Pride Rock" was what I was listening to as I wrote that post. It's an EXTREMELY good song.

    The Lion King

This is one of the greatest animated movies ever made, and to go along with it, has one of the best soundtracks of any movie ever. I'm listening to it now, and it's just epic -- Disney sure does put together some great projects. I'm looking forward to getting it on DVD in October.
  16. I saw that the other night. In terms of QS, we are #2 in the MAJORS, behind only the Dodgers. I found that absolutely amazing. We have 63 (64 now, after Sunday), and the Dodgers had 64, but they probably have 65 now. Amazing.
  17. I wouldnt look into those stats too much. Its coincidence most of the time, like our starting pitcher pitches a bad game while we score alotta runs, but we still lose the game. I'd buy that if we were in May or June, but we're almost to August. I think a 32 game sample vs. lefties is plenty.
  18. But if that's not written into the law, it's going to be a gray area, and some guys could be wrongly accused of rape as a result.
  19. So what if you're doing a chick, and you're about to blast, and at that exact moment, she says "no!!!" and you blow into her. Can she cry rape? If so, that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of (well, except for the gay HS, ).
  20. OMG here we go again..... LOL. Just go with it...the way we're hitting, we can compete with anybody if our pitching (particularly the bullpen) can keep us in the game. And as we all know, once you get into the playoffs, ANYTHING can happen.
  21. He said that? Is he completely clueless or is he just trying extra hard to appear to be?
  22. Over the past 3 years, here are some of Jon's stats against the Royals... Overall, he's 5-2 (12 appearances, 9 starts) with an ERA of 3.30 and a WHIP of 1.27. The Royals are hitting .240 off of him. At Kauffman Stadium, however, his numbers aren't nearly as good. There, he's 2-2 with an ERA of 4.94 and a WHIP of 1.39. And on the road, the Royals are hitting .270 against Jon. Gotta stats.
  23. I suppose you could argue MB being our 3rd best, but I'd rank them in this order... Loaiza obviously 1st, MB 2nd, Colon 3rd, and Garland 4th. MB, BC, and JG aren't too far off from each other, though, so it could really go either way. Here are a few of their stats so far in '03... Garland = 118.7 IP, 69 strikeouts, 1.34 WHIP, 4.40 ERA Colon = 154 IP, 113 strikeouts, 1.23 WHIP, 4.09 ERA Buehrle = 149.7 IP, 78 strikeouts, 1.38 WHIP, 4.21 ERA Looking at that, you'd have to put BC 2nd, as his WHIP and ERA are the lowest of the 3, and he's got way more K's and CG's (5 for Colon, 1 for Buehrle, 0 for Garland).
