What the hell is Ozzie doing with his lineup?
Hideaway Lights replied to Hideaway Lights's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He's one of our best hitters for average and he has more speed. Why not have him closer to the top? -
I know if it ain't broke, yadda yadda, but there is no way in hell that Rowand shouldn't be hitting third and Thomas shouldn't be hitting fifth. How does Rowand keep getting chooched to seventh or sixth, behind three or four slower guys with worse averages?

Hideaway Lights replied to Punch and Judy Garland's topic in 2005 Season in Review
what is up with Thomas gimping around the basepaths? I know this is like 6 pages ago, but I just got back from watching the first 5 innings at lunch -

I think it's already Buehrle. His career ERA is just sick. -
The BEST start in Franchise HISTORY

The ghosts of the 2001 Seattle Mariners keep haunting me, guys. The difference is, no one in the AL is even close, whereas they still had to contend with the Yankees at their peak... -
March 24th through today...weekly fantasy report on Jon G. Some pretty good laughs in here... March 24, 2005 "he's not a serious option in mixed leagues just yet anyway. " April 16, 2005 "it's still too early to add Garland in mixed leagues. " April 20, 2005 "Garland gets the light-hitting A's next, so 4-0 is a real possibility." May 1, 2005 "If you didn't pick up Garland before this hot streak, then you risk buying him as his value is peaking. If that's the case, then the only way to go is down for him. " May 12, 2005 "The beat goes on for Garland, who already has surpassed expectations. Either we're in for a career year, or a big disappointment when he finally falters. " May 24, 2005 "But his long-standing inconsistency makes me cautious about putting him in the top tier at this point." May 29, 2005 "Garland’s strikeout rate is the lowest that it has ever been during his career, so do not be surprised if his ERA inches closer to 4.00 with every start. This would be a good time to sell high. " June 4, 2005 "Have you traded Garland yet? He has allowed 11 runs in his last two starts. With a strikeout per nine-inning ratio still near four, it might be time to take what you can get for him before his ERA rises even closer to his career mark (4.56). " June 15, 2004 "He walked three and allowed three home runs. Everything that Garland was done right this season went wrong. Three of his last four starts have been bad. Sell high! " June 21, 2005 - 11:05 p.m. Garland won his 12th game of the season Tuesday. He allowed one earned run and five baserunners in 8.1 innings. Fantasy Source spin: Garland won 12 games in 2002, 2003 and 2004, and we're guessing that trend will end before the All-Star break this season.

So far, so good...

my feeling about August is that it MAY be tough....but perhaps Boston, NY or MIN will do a big fade and one or more of those teams will be way out of it. Perhaps at the end of July we'll be 35+ over. Who knows.

Looking at the white sox attendance page http://www.baseball-almanac.com/teams/wsoxatte.shtml The Sox were hurt more by the strike than anything else. We were drawing 30-36,000 average the first four years at new comiskey. and that's back when the neighborhood was much, much worse than it is now.

last 7 games - average attendance 29,844 pretty sweet.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) Laugher? Hardly. Three run lead with Hermanson in the ninth = laugher from the first pitch he threw in the inning. Just my opinion. -
No negatives from this guy. We played like s***, and still won. That's just how friggin' good we are. HELL YEAH!

The lesson here tonight is that we can throw a not-even-close AAA starter and our two worst relievers at a recently hot and re-energized scrappy team and still hand our closer a three run lead in the ninth. Not bad, huh -
