QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 12, 2009 -> 06:16 PM) They sign a guy for 3 million coming off a bad and injured year, and they non-tender one of the few relievers who didn't make me want to vomit. Awesome. Exactly.

That first fight was basically the most entertaining match I've ever seen, live at least.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 05:01 PM) I'll be going on the 28th with my daughter. BTW, I agree on The Road. Good but nothing special. Was annoyed at all the added music during "touching" moments. Poor use of music in a film. And the book was much better. Other then Viggo and the cinematography the movie would have been meh. I don't know about you, but I'm getting tired of seeing Viggo's junk in every movie he's in.

My buddy bought a few tickets for Avatar at the Imax for next Sunday, so I guess I'll be letting you guys know how it is.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 12:28 PM) That was kinda of a knee-jerk response to WCsox's ridiculous 'I'd like to see a pitcher today win 40 games or pitch 400 innings' comment. But like I said, I'm not getting into some big debate over a dude from over a century ago. There isn't a human being walking the face of the earth that would put Ed Walsh over Frank Thomas among White Sox all-time greats (sad that a franchise that's been around as long as the Sox have don't really have that many to begin with). I've learned over time to pick and choose my message board 'battles.' WCsox is the kinda dude that will post about a specific topic until New Year's in order to get the last word in or to prove he's 'right'. I don't got time for that. Gotcha, if anyone knows about knee-jerk reactions it's me. That line just ground my gears. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 7, 2009 -> 05:53 PM) So is he one of the top 10 pitchers ever? Context is very important when you want to throw out names of guys that played, like, 100 years ago. And I never brushed him off. I said from the start he was great for that time. Now if you're saying he's one of the best pitchers ever because he has the lowest ERA ever, well, I'll just stay out of it. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 7, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) Again, he was great for that time. And lol@you would like to see a pitcher today win 40 games or throw 400 innings. I'd like to see Ed Walsh in today's game attempting to keep his ERA below 10. That sounds pretty much like you're brushing him off to me. -

The guy has the lowest career ERA in the history of baseball, and you're brushing him off as though he were a joke because he played a long time ago. -
I saw The Road yesterday. It was pretty damn good, but I don't know...I felt like it was sort of a letdown. I think that's because it has been built up so much for me, especially on this site.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Dec 4, 2009 -> 07:29 PM) Did you end up finding your files in another location? I just upgraded to itunes 9 - it was "buggy" for me the first time I used it but now it seems ok. No, but it's good to know that it happens to other people and there's not something wrong with my computer.

You're the man, Kyyle.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 02:55 PM) I've had this issue, sort of. If I import a song that wasn't from a CD or the iTunes store (which I only do rarely), it will import OK, and play OK, then suddenly one day it will show an exclamation point next to it saying it can't find the source. Is that what is happening for you? No, mine disappears entirely from both the iTunes library and my computer. I believe the situation you have is that the song disappears from your computer, but remains in the iTunes library (which obviously cannot play the song because it's not even on the computer). I have no idea what is happening or why. My best guess is that certain songs get removed whenever I upgrade to a new version of iTunes, but that's a complete shot in the dark. There are two ways I usually notice that I'm missing a song. Something will remind me of a song, and then I'll think that I haven't heard it in a long time. I'll check and find out that it's not there anymore. The other way I find out is if someone else is going through my ipod (I use it a lot with parties and such), and someone will say "you need to get ____," and I'll know that I had it at some point.

I tend to notice about once a week that a song I used to have in my iTunes library is no longer there. I'm not deleting them, and they don't even seem to be on my computer anymore. Anyone have any clue as to why this might happen? I'm not sure if the songs are deleted at random, or if a bunch are deleted at once and it takes me a while to notice specific ones are missing.

QUOTE (BobDylan @ Nov 27, 2009 -> 02:47 AM) Most likely, you'll get a trophy. No trophy haha, but nothing to make it worth it anyway. For reaching 50 feathers, you get a pretty cool war hammer. For getting all 100, you get a cape that raises your notoriety level for some reason. I just wanted to beat the game fully, and I did.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 12:53 AM) I was just about to say that. Hip hop HOF... sure.. first ballot. Rock n Roll? WTF is that s***? I never heard of Abba, so I youtube'd them. Felix wtf are you listening to? You haven't even heard of ABBA? I remember hearing once that they sold more albums, or had more gold records or something, than the Beatles. Either way, they're like top 5 in record sales ever.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 10:27 PM) Let me also point out a sad irony for anybody who hasn't noticed: The top four spots (well-deserved) in the pantheon of rock and roll — an American invention — are all Brits! Simply put, British bands absolutely trump American bands...or any band in general.
-
This is great. I did not expect the Who to get the #2 spot at all. So many people I know aren't big fans of theirs at all, leading me to believe that it'd be hard for them to crack the top 10. I think now that it's pretty obvious the top one will be the Beatles (of which there was never any doubt), with the Who coming in second.
-
I voted the Who as my #1, so I think that would make them basically automatically on the list (especially if at least one or two other people even had them somewhere on theirs). So, I wouldn't worry about it.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 25, 2009 -> 05:32 AM) Assassins Creed 2. That's all I need to say. I've just about beaten it. The only thing is that I only have about 20 of the 100 feathers for that collection. I'm sort of curious as to what happens when I collect them all, so I may have to use an internet print-out to find them all.
-
I must be going for a record of being the highest voter for an entire list.
-
I doubt anyone cares, as Modern Warfare has everyone's attention, but Assassin's Creed II has been awesome. They've added so much to the original game, which itself was great, and all of the additions have been improvements.

Dexter, holy f***ing s***.

I just took a new sporcle quiz, and did anyone else know that Jose Valentin has the fifth most homers as a shortstop in the history of baseball?
