QUOTE (G&T @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) Try Humphrey Bogart. I've seen a good amount of his movies. I still prefer Tracy.

I recently watched Inherit The Wind. I'm really getting into these older movies, and I'd have to say that Spencer Tracy is my favorite non-current actor.
  3. That title was somewhat misleading.
  4. Haha, thanks. I also find it funny that they have the gallons of water in Lake Michigan down to such a precise number.
  5. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 03:22 PM) So if my math is right, 600 million metric tons of water is about 1,322,775,960,000 pounds (earth gravity) of water! Being as one gallon of water weighs 8.34 pounds, that's roughly 158,606,230,215 gallons of water. that's a s*** load of water! Can someone compare that amount to an amount I might comprehend? Like the size of some other body of water on Earth?

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 10:30 PM) Hot Rod is a f***ing awesome movie, maybe because I have a friend who is just like Rod in real life (except for the stunts, but his personality is just like that). I really expected it to be a terrible movie (and I love the Lonely Island guys). I love that movie.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 26, 2010 -> 12:07 PM) I think the new Nightmare on Elm Street has a chance to be good too. Im interested to see Jackie Earle Haleys take on Freddy. Me too. I like him and I think he'll make a good Freddy. A few of my brother's friends went to The Crazies last night (don't ask me why they'd go see this particular movie at midnight on opening night). They said it was pretty good. Sort of one of those movies you expect to suck but ends up being all right.
  8. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 03:38 PM) I am amazed everyday by the number of people my age who have never seen Blazing Saddles. My generation as in the current college/high school people. I'm 24 and all of my friends know and love it. I also voted it #1 in the comedy poll.
  9. I recently finished the first season of Deadwood. I really enjoyed it, and those were some great performances from Ian McShane and Brad Dourif.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 08:10 AM) Completely agree on all of the above. Glad you like my review

I just watched Big Fan. Patton Oswalt did a great job in it. I think he's hilarious and I like him a lot, but his character was easily one of the most unlikeable people I have ever seen on film or TV. You usually root for a pathetic loser, but I couldn't help but root against him. And that somehow tells me that he put in a damn good performance. The movie itself was OK to pretty good...it hasn't really sunk in enough yet to know. Very good surprise ending, though.
  12. QUOTE (Reddy @ Feb 24, 2010 -> 10:41 AM) unfortunately my online sarcasm-o-meter is pretty unreliable, but for the record there really are people out there who still only think global warming is an evil liberal fabrication. I know first hand. What I'm saying is that I can't believe there are still people who would say, "It's getting colder, so much for global warming!". It's hard to believe that people still don't know anything about the concept at all.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 23, 2010 -> 11:13 PM) Yeah, possibly. But when you see it, you will know what I mean. I'm sure. In fact, I'm one of those people who probably would b**** either way.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 23, 2010 -> 10:36 PM) um, yeah, this Swiss curler has a tongue ring. Just sayin. Tongue rings are somewhat confusing. They're only for the thing you're thinking of if they are located more toward the back of the tongue. I know from experience and being greatly let down by it.
  15. QUOTE (Reddy @ Feb 23, 2010 -> 11:10 PM) ... it is. global warming is a misused phrase, what we're really dealing with is climate change - a shift in weather patterns. No offense to you, but does anyone really not know this by now?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 23, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) Wow. We didn't have boos. I read the book and was really expecting they would re-work the ending. Was shocked when they didn't. And then people would b**** because they changed the story.

Saw District 9 and really liked it.
  18. KHP and Kyyle, that was one of the best exchanges I've ever read on this site.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) You can bypass the entire line for SW by checking in online? Wouldn't everyone just do that? Yeah, you can check in online at (I think) 12 a.m. on the day of your flight. I haven't flown in a year, though, so it may have changed.
  20. Not one particular moment, but I was the ace of the staff in one season. But, then my uncle sat me in the game to go to the championship so that his son could pitch (and get bombed).
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 09:46 AM) That's part of the problem for me. Why do I want to waste an extra 2 hours of my life at an airport if I don't have to? With United I can show up just as they're boarding and still get a great seat that I selected 2 weeks earlier. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather have a little extra time to spend at home with my wife and dogs then to stand around at an airport terminal. What about online check-in?
  22. I just received the first season of Deadwood from Netflix. I'm going to try to watch that entire series.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 10:52 AM) I miss playing with those guys. Got to meet a lot of friends over there and it was always fun and competitive and nobody took it too seriously. One day towards the end of Spring, 5 of the girls from the SIU women's team came to play and my team won the previous game so we had to face them. Dirty biatches. I had nail and scratch marks all over my back from boxing this one girl out. Took forever for that stuff to heal. Of course, I told my buddies that a woman gave em to me but didn't say where. Who won?
