  1. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) I don't know. I mean, a reasonable person would never boo Obama for wearing a Nationals jacket in Washington DC on opening day. If that's true, then the Sox fanbase is a hell of a lot dumber than I thought it was. It was more than likely just a bunch of cowards that disagree with his politics. You could also throw in some serious retards that don't think he's a legitimate Sox fan, for whatever reason. Those people are few and far between, I'm sure. I'm an Obama supporter, but why exactly would someone booing him be a coward?
  2. I thought would be one of those guys that sticks with WWE through the end of his career, staying behind the scenes after leaving the actual wrestling portion.
  3. For some reason, java refuses to load for me.
  4. I'm going to keep watching The Pacific, but it's not very good. In comparison to Band Of Brothers, it actually sucks.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) Cliff Lee to the Dl Scott Kazmir to the DL Chien Ming Wang to the DL Coco crisp to the Dl Jeff Francis to the DL Nick Johnson fouled a ball off his leg. 4 year, $18 milliion deal for Adam Lind Charlie Haeger is the dodgers 5th starter. Hank Blalock did not make the Rays roster and is again a FA. Nice to hear.
  6. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 05:46 PM) I've never played fantasy baseball, so I truly don't understand most of the "new" stats. I know there's value in sabermetrics, but I feel like Simmons used to feel. He used to argue against the stat guys precisely because of players like JD Drew. I know what I see, and there has to be some value to that, too. Simmons is guilty of doing my least favorite fan argument - talking about an outfielder's defensive ability. He says Jacoby Elsbury has bad instincts, gets bad jumps, etc. How does he know this from watching the games on tv? I hear people talking this way all the time: "He's a great center fielder...>" Really? What makes you an expert on defensive play in the outfield? How closely do you really watch players even when you're at the game? Most people just watch the pitcher, then the batter, then follow the ball. How many people watch the center fielder or shortstop while the ball is being pitched? A Middle Buffalo post that wasn't funny...this feels weird.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 2, 2010 -> 07:04 AM) Its amazing how much more solid a baseball writer becomes when they count the White Sox as one of the best. I've read for years on this board that Rosenthal was an idiot. I like Rosenthal's columns, but am concerned about his prediction. It appears his pre-season picks haven't been on the money. Can you change your avatar to Eeyore?
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 04:41 PM) I dont care what you say. This will be epic I heard about this a long time ago. I knew then that it would have to be great.
  9. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) I strongly suggest watching the series with commentary on. It's a lot of fun to listen to them talk about the series, especially if you've already gone through the series normally a couple of times. I don't like watching anything with commentary. It just bothers me.
  10. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 09:19 AM) I agree with King of the Hill, I've followed it since it began. What I hate, and it's the same with Simpsons reruns, is I rarely come across an episode I haven't already seen. Usually with the Simpsons and KOTH it'll have to be a newer episode from within the last two years, when work and drinking conflicted with Sunday television viewing. I honestly believe the Simpsons has been strong these last two seasons. Their material is a lot sharper and wittier than previous years. There was a period, from probably 2004-2007, where nearly every episode I viewed was unbearable. I can at least tolerate it enough to forsake valuable DVR space on Sundays. Until now, I've probably seen two episodes of Futurama. There are 30 episodes of the show backlogged on my DVR that I have yet to watch. I don't know what it is about the show, but it's as if I always have intentions of watching it, yet something else comes up that I feel is more important and I ignore it. That's basically how I viewed the show when it was on FOX, and now Cartoon Network. I love Futurama not only because it's funny, but because it has such a great sense of continuity. They constantly refer back to earlier episodes (including the pilot) and never seem to contradict themselves.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 09:49 PM) I know. They wrote that! I'm all for character development, just they need to make good characters. Aren't these actual events and people?
  12. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) Dude, you don't strike me as a guy who laughs easily, trust me, save the 9 bucks. You're right, but I still try to enjoy movies for what they were intended to be. A movie like this seems to be the kind that doesn't take itself seriously and has some crude laughs.
  13. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 01:29 PM) Nooooooooooooo it wasnnnnnnnnnnnt. Stop misguiding people. I just didnt laugh in that movie at all, really. I've heard the exact opposite from every person I know that saw it, plus all of the critics I pay attention to.
  14. Why would it be surprising to anyone that it tastes great? I've never had it, but that's the first thing I thought when I first heard of it.
  15. That screen shot really makes Guy Pearce look like Tom Selleck.
  16. QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) To each their own. You don't have to stand, you don't have to remove your hat, you can eat your nachos during it, or you can hoot and hollar and scream USA or GO HAWKS. It's your choice as a citizen of the country they are playing the anthem for. I personally stand and remove my hat, even put the hand over my heart, but to each their own. The noise level increases when the song is winding down in anticipation of it being over and the game getting ready to start at all sporting events. Hawks games are just louder throughout the singing, but I think it is far less a patriotic roar in most cases and more of hey let's get fired up for "kickoff, tip off, face off, first pitch" etc. Also a really long version by the singer usually is greeted with groans almost as if saying c'mon let's get this meaningless ritual over and get to the game! It's true that it is your choice, but it certainly isn't patriotic to do any of those things in the first bold part.
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 01:19 PM) The most badass alphabet ever I laughed my ass off at F and I.
  18. QUOTE (T R U @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 03:19 AM) I saw MAYBE three moves from Goldberg that entire match.. a back drop, a spear, and a jackhammer.. Yeah, Regal wasn't floppin around the ring like he was getting destroyed but when I heard you guys talkin about it and how bad it was I was expecting him to get back up after a spear or something like that.. Consider the time frame. Goldberg probably hadn't even taken part in a match that lasted a minute at that point.
  19. QUOTE (SnB @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 08:52 PM) The office had a fantastic rebound episode tonight The more I watch that show, the more I hate Steve Carell's character. The more I see anything (including just commercials) with Steve Carell, the more I hate Steve Carell.
  20. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 05:19 PM) Nope. That spin kick for no good reason. Punches, spears and jackhammers. Other than when Bret Hart, CJ, Malenko, and Benoit did it, I wasn't really a fan of technical wrestling. I understand you have a different preference, but I have to laugh at the bold part. It's like listing wearing wrestling shorts or the ability to collect a routine pinfall as a moveset.
  21. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 02:17 PM) I'd also love to see Goldberg. My favorite wrestler moves wise from WCW only because he was so intense and huge and used nothing but high impact moves. Still mad that he injured the Hitman though. Are you kidding? He had two moves, and both depended almost entirely on the opponent selling them to even make them look good. I believe it was William Regal who no-sold a whole match against Goldberg to make him look like the talentless asshole he was.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) Hot Tub Time Machine getting surprisingly good reviews. 77% on Rotten Tomatoes right now. I don't think it's surprising. It looks funny.
  23. QUOTE (NIUSox @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 11:58 PM) Randomly got the urge to watch "Sudden Death" with JCVD so I went to the netflix website thinking that it might be one that you can watch instantly, but no they don't even have it on dvd. Bummer. That was on earlier today on one of the movie channels.
