QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 12:07 AM) in addition to the fact that thursday nights people are more of a going out night. I watched it a bar. It was glorious. Even Donny Lucy got a double. I wasn't so worried about last night, he seemed on. But, clearly, getting men on base=good. I want to ride Andruw Jones hot streak. But so far so good. Let's continue it tomorrow. Last night was Wednesday, though.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 05:41 PM) Please do, there's also 2 or 3 threads that have to do with the lineup that could be merged into one. Seriously, all of those "I think the lineup should look like this" or "this lineup will solve the problem" threads need to have one catch-all. There must be two new threads like that every single day.

The Official "Let's Not Fire Anyone" Thread
Milkman delivers replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I assume you just mean that the season is 162 games, but when you get to about 50 games in, you can probably start talking about firing/demoting/etc. -
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 08:29 AM) No, no, and no. You got it all wrong. When Mark Buehrle pitches a perfect game or a no hitter, it's because of how awesome he is, opposing batters didn't have a chance. When someone does it to us (or comes close), it's because our offense sucks and our manager/hitting coach need to be fired! It's called Soxtalktality -- a blend of group think from Sox talk and the mentality it creates. Our offense does suck.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 09:59 PM) For $75? Yes. Probably my 2nd favorite TV show ever. Behind?

A game where the Sox score 8 runs, followed by a game where they get 1 hit. This team is as consistently inconsistent as it has ever been.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 01:44 PM) Am I the only one who thought Law Abiding Citizens was a great movie? I enjoyed it, and basically everyone I know liked it (and that includes posters here).

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 10:22 PM) It seems Mark won't be the one "wearing it" as far as our pitchers getting a win this season. That job has belonged to Danks for two seasons, and seems to be continuing this year. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 11, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) In Curaçao, in the Netherlands Antilles. Yes, and I guess that made me assume he would have some sort of accent. -

Nice win, we need some of those things to go our way after the last four games. Did Hardy run through a sign, or did their third base coach really send him there? I mean, that was terrible. Also, I didn't know Andruw Jones spoke English so well. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) Ozzie is a little thin-skinned for an MLB manager. He ate up all the genius talk in 2005 and now even Oney yaps about how the White Sox knew nothing about winning until the Guillens came to town. Of course Ozzie's .525 winning pct. looks pretty good against Jerry Manuel's .515, even though that's only 1.5 extra wins a year, but pales in comparison to Gene Lamont's .551. There are very few managers/coaches/GMs that aren't eventually going to be called an idiot by a lot of people. Ozzie is no exception. He shouldn't be popping off, and he also shouldn't resign. Its 5 games. See how you feel a month from now. I still feel if they don't hit soon, KW's trigger is going to be a lot quicker than normal considering he wasn't entirely sold on the current plan in the first place. The Guillens, that's hilarious. What could possibly make his sons think they had absolutely anything to do with any of the success that the team experienced in the last few years?

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 07:10 PM) they haven't been great. As a whole, mediocre at worst.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 05:39 PM) Possible relations between thyroid problems and HGH use. Wasn't there a pretty big player who recently had thyroid problems? EDIT: Other than Reyes, that is.

Plus you have Hawk s***ting on the bullpen when they haven't been bad.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 03:02 PM) wow i dont know how to feel about this PPV... ****spoiler alert***** It doesn't bother me, but there's a spoiler tag that you'll probably want to use.

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) Nobody is saying that. What people are trying to say is why did we pay Pierre this much when Pods would have been cheaper and an equal if not slightly better product I gotta say, I wanted Pods gone, but he at least has a chance to drive runs in. I can't see Pierre doing that too well. It wouldn't surprise me if he had less than 10 at the end of the year.

QUOTE (dmbjeff @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 01:30 PM) Did I go color blind? All the posts today look black and not green. This team is fine, it isn't hitting very well right now, but they are only 4 games in. The SP has been good and will keep us in nearly every game and when we get a little bit more luck from the bats, we will be fine. Relax people. Just saying that the offense will come around won't make it so. Yes, the pitching will keep us in games all season long because there are a lot of quality pitchers on the staff. The problem is that the offense will suck. At it's peak, it can be slightly more than mediocre. It's filled with a bunch of mediocre/crappy players and a couple of good ones. We're going to see a lot of 1-0, 2-1, and 3-1 losses this season. EDIT: And as I type this, Juan Pierre makes a mistake in the outfield (he really brings nothing to the table) and we bring in Linebrink. God, this sucks.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) Yeah, I'd definitely have Danks in there. It's a shame how many wins he's been screwed out of in his short career. And it continues into this season.

QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:51 PM) And it may very well always be like that with him, and wont matter where he plays on the field.. It seemed as though he didn't have quite as many brain farts at 2B, and it might be because he didn't get as many chances.
