I didn't actually go to see Inglourious Basterds like I planned because I ended up getting free tickets to yesterday's game (clearly I should've went to the movie instead). I have to see that this week. I did watch Lawrence Of Arabia when I got home yesterday, though. You know a movie is one of the greats when you don't mind sitting through four hours of it.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 06:59 PM) Hard to say...but I'm tired of putting so much emotion into this thing only to get kicked in the nuts every other day losing to s*** teams. Personally I think they're done....and saying that I'm hoping it's just reverse psychology. But I've seen no real spark for the last month from this club. Thank god bears football is back is all I can say right now. Amen.

4-6. Not bad, but certainly not good. I forgot if that sentence was meant to describe the upcoming road trip or the 2009 White Sox as a whole.

QUOTE (Wise Master Buehrle @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 06:00 PM) I believe it goes something like "Motherf*cking B*tchass D*psh*t Passionless Sox!!!!" Why did you put an asterisk in Dip?

You sign Thome for 2010. He retires at the end of that season, then you move Konerko to DH and Viciedo takes over 1B.

QUOTE (DaveBrown85 @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 12:32 AM) i remember last year when the playoff rosters were announced and wasserman wasnt on it. He was one of the few guys to still stay with the team. Didn't somebody leave almost immediately? Here's a question I have that I couldn't find the answer to on Wikipedia. When did baseball start having September call-ups?

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 09:17 AM) Beatles to those of you who don't know rock. That is probably the biggest thing Ringo Starr ever gave to the Beatles. How sad is that?

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 02:47 PM) I play Mafia Wars, but I'm barely anywhere. I didn't know once you get to a certain level you have to click on that level to do the new types of jobs. I mastered the first level so it unlocked everything from Level 13-19 for me which is where the big money was at. Anyone got any good tips for Mafia Wars? You should have picked Maniac as the type of player you'd be. I didn't, and I always regret that.

I guess this would be the place for this. Does anyone in here play Mafia Wars and have a bunch of Politicos Corruptos to send my way? I'll get you back for sure with pretty much anything else you may need. I just have one more job to do at the highest level, and I really want to get it over with.

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) Reggie Jackson went nuts in that game. I'm just glad Enrico Pallazzo was there.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) What about the Fighting Irish? Youre going to tell me that EVERY Irish person is not going to find that offensive? Because Notre Dame isn't relevant anymore.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 01:21 PM) White Sox @ Yankees, August 9, 2005. Kid jumped on the net, was chilling there for a while. He was terrified and embarrassed. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250809110 I remember it vividly. Joe Crede was charging a softly hit grounder and, before he grabbed it, he sort of hesitated for some unknown reason. At first I was pissed because I had no idea why he hesitated, but I believe he still got the runner out by a hair. Hawk and DJ then started to talk about what happened and they panned to the guy on the net. It all made sense at that point.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 11:54 AM) Someone crawling through air ducts to steal a corked bat. Was it Albert Belle's? That was the stand-up gentleman, Jason Grimsley. Does anyone have the video of the foul ball going into the home plate umpire's pocket? I remember someone posted a video of it some time ago, but I can't find it on youtube. I believe Thomas was batting.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 11:35 AM) A tiger mauling a runner sliding into 2nd base. Dude, remember that guy's head falling off when he robbed that homer?

Who here is happy Uribe's not on the team anymore?
Milkman delivers replied to whitesoxgt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I might have been Uribe's biggest fan, but it was time for he and the team to go their separate ways. -
I really want to see Inglourious Basterds and District 9. I have been trying to get people to go see District 9 with me, but nobody really seems too into it. As for Inglourious Basterds, I'll be seeing that this weekend, as a lot of people want to see it...hopefully I'll see the other movie some time this week. My last two Netflix movies were The Hustler and The Color Of Money. The Hustler was a great movie and much, much better.

QUOTE (T R U @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 03:30 AM) I would have never guessed you were 46, that's crazy I had to edit this because I said I just turned 26 a few days ago when it was actually 25.. I cant even remember how old I am anymore apparently.. I actually do the same thing. I'm 24, but there have been times where people ask me my age and I honestly have to think about it for a second.

There's got to be someone on this site that's older than 59. I mean, 59 isn't that old.

QUOTE (Allsox @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 12:49 PM) Are you talking about the schizo ups/down on the board from posters on a daily basis from games as the "supposed" turning pts? Or something else? And don't get me wrong. I'm not saying we fans shouldn't ever criticize the organization. We do that just by not showing up at Comiskey.... Yeah, there are a bunch of times each year where some, or even most, of the board think "we're going to go on a roll after this game" or "we're going to go into a spiral after this debacle," and it doesn't happen. -

Why Chris Getz Injury Is Good for the Sox
Milkman delivers replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I guess an average that is much higher than the other player is just not enough. Chris Getz should shave about 40 points from his average in order to hit more solo home runs. -

QUOTE (Allsox @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 10:16 AM) In 23 yrs of watching White Sox baseball, this decade has undoubtedly been the best. The 80s' were awful, the 90's were very disappointing and both decades only had one division title to speak of with very few seasons of still being in the race by Aug. Sure, there's been lots of bad pts this decade (The end of 2003, the absolute collapse after the '06 All Star break where the Sox led the Wild Card by 6 games to wind up 6 games out) but mostly, it's been good times to be a Sox fan. I understand what you're saying, but it has absolutely no effect on what I said.
