GAME THREAD: Sox (63-61) @ Sawx (70-53), 6:10pm CT
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 07:32 PM) We need to start showing some support for Jose. As long as we keep perpuating this myth that he can't perform, we are going to get this result. He just needs a confidence boost. I hope that next time he pitches at the Cell....he gets a standing ovation when heading to the mound to start the game. If we can restore his faith, we are more likely to get a guy who pitches like Lamar Hoyt....rather than one who pitches like Jose DeLeon I can only assume you're joking. If Jose Contreras is not designated for assignment and he starts another game for the White Sox, I suggest that nobody even show up to the park. Boycott the game, and I'm being as serious as possible.

GAME THREAD: Sox (63-61) @ Sawx (70-53), 6:10pm CT
I swear to f***ing Christ Almighty, this guy better be f***ing cut immediately. Cut him immediately. I don't even give a s*** what he did for us in 2005 anymore...it's no reason to keep him around now. Get off this f***ing team.

I want to shoot myself in the f***ing head. Then I wouldn't have to watch this walking embarrassment anymore. CUT THIS WORTHLESS PIECE OF s*** BEFORE THE GAME EVEN ENDS.

You're a joke, Jose. The most painful pitcher to watch.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 05:03 PM) I'm surprised, because I would think you would like him since he uses a lot more mat-wrestling techniques. IMO, he's probably the 3 best wrestlers not signed to TNA or WWE. If you have time check out any of the matches he had with Homicide in 06 or his matches with Takeshi Morishima Not another Mankind/Dude Love/Cactus Jack thing, I assume.

What is your ethnic backround?
I wish.

John Danks Blister
QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 04:02 PM) He had some good solo songs. If by "some" you mean It Don't Come Easy (which was reportedly written by George Harrison), then you're right.

Are you...
In or out? Either way, BigSqwert will need a new computer.

Anyone gonna be in Gwinnett, GA tomorrow?
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 12:56 PM) Huh? I'm not sure if this answers your question, but I've always just wanted to see a blue duck.

QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) I watched for 5 minutes and turned it off during the DX match after about 12 times the announcers becoming advertisers / video game announcers. How dull and boring. You seem like a nice guy and all, but why the hell do you keep posting in this thread when all you're doing is s***ting on the product and mentioning that you don't watch anymore?

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 10:00 AM) 'The Goods; Live Hard, Sell Hard' was pretty funny. I'm not a huge Piven fan, it must have gotten me in the right mood cuz I lol a few times. I actually heard it wasn't that good, and this was from people I fully expected to love it. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 11:14 AM) Future cult classic — at least among aquatic scientists. It will definitely have a cult following. I've only seen it once, and I didn't even make it all the way through because I thought it sucked that much. I've heard from a few people that it gets better each time, so I may have to go back and give it another shot. It's definitely got some hardcore fans.

What is your ethnic backround?
We make it easier by just saying that we're half Irish, a quarter German, and a quarter Italian. It's actually a little more diluted than that with some random other European nationalities in there. My last name comes from the German side of the family, but it actually sounds French and likely is.

Are the Sox done?
QUOTE (thedoctor @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 08:46 AM) i don't think this stretch breaks the sox (at least the first 10 games of it) primarily because detroit is playing some good competition as well. while we're at boston they are at the angels. while we're in new york they're hosting the rays. they host the indians while we are at the twins which is not good. my guess is we come out of this 10-game stretch in a pretty similar place, standings-wise. probably between 1.5 and 3.5 out. Hm, I wasn't aware of that. This definitely changes things, and it sure makes it seem a lot brighter.

QUOTE (T R U @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 02:00 AM) It was actually Ted DiBiase's brother who ran in.. and you could have had me fooled, I thought it was not scripted at all They didnt even show the replay or mentioned that it happened, pretty good work had me fooled.. And god damn, the Undertaker thing was badass.. I didnt even notice it was him at first, was a very nice way to bring him back for sure. How did they do it?

U of I
QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 08:03 AM) It seems like it. I was up there for new student orientation over the summer. She is rooming with a friend from HS and they were assigned a corner, which they really wanted. I've heard mixed reviews about the food, but complaining about dorm food is always in style. I got pretty lucky. My school ended up having pretty good cafeteria food.

Films Thread
I didn't actually go to see Inglourious Basterds like I planned because I ended up getting free tickets to yesterday's game (clearly I should've went to the movie instead). I have to see that this week. I did watch Lawrence Of Arabia when I got home yesterday, though. You know a movie is one of the greats when you don't mind sitting through four hours of it.

Anyone else here scared of these next 20 up and coming games?
I'm surprised there hasn't been a "then why do you keep watching the games" post yet.

Are the Sox done?
QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 06:59 PM) Hard to say...but I'm tired of putting so much emotion into this thing only to get kicked in the nuts every other day losing to s*** teams. Personally I think they're done....and saying that I'm hoping it's just reverse psychology. But I've seen no real spark for the last month from this club. Thank god bears football is back is all I can say right now. Amen.

Road trip prediction poll.
4-6. Not bad, but certainly not good. I forgot if that sentence was meant to describe the upcoming road trip or the 2009 White Sox as a whole.

QUOTE (Wise Master Buehrle @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 06:00 PM) I believe it goes something like "Motherf*cking B*tchass D*psh*t Passionless Sox!!!!" Why did you put an asterisk in Dip?

Dye is seriously slumping
You sign Thome for 2010. He retires at the end of that season, then you move Konerko to DH and Viciedo takes over 1B.

September Call-ups Predictions
QUOTE (DaveBrown85 @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 12:32 AM) i remember last year when the playoff rosters were announced and wasserman wasnt on it. He was one of the few guys to still stay with the team. Didn't somebody leave almost immediately? Here's a question I have that I couldn't find the answer to on Wikipedia. When did baseball start having September call-ups?

Video Game Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 02:47 PM) I play Mafia Wars, but I'm barely anywhere. I didn't know once you get to a certain level you have to click on that level to do the new types of jobs. I mastered the first level so it unlocked everything from Level 13-19 for me which is where the big money was at. Anyone got any good tips for Mafia Wars? You should have picked Maniac as the type of player you'd be. I didn't, and I always regret that.
