You know you're a wuss when.....
QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 04:02 PM) Ew! She is nasty! Not even good looking! I expect more from you, PA! She looks like she got hit in the face. Alright, I just looked her up, and assuming I looked at pictures of the right girl, I have to say this. She's not gorgeous, but c'mon, you wouldn't stick it to that? If you're passing on a girl like that, you better be getting smoking girls left and right.

Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
I can't even remember an interesting trade deadline in years.
-
ESPN: Rob Mackowiak Traded to SD
Deadline's officially past. If nothing comes out soon, it looks like KW's great rebuilding/retooling effort during the 2007 season consisted of giving away two solid position players for Single A relievers that are likely to never reach the majors.

ESPN: Rob Mackowiak Traded to SD
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 01:53 PM) I find it interesting that so far, none of the guys KW has acquired seem to have a chance in Hell of helping the big league team next year. Or, you know...ever.
-
ESPN: Rob Mackowiak Traded to SD
I can't wait for KW to act smug as all hell when questioned why he's making terrible trades left and right.
-
ESPN: Rob Mackowiak Traded to SD
Great, another piece of s*** possible future reliever. I revoke my previous statement. The word "screw" isn't harsh enough. You should actually f*** yourself, KW.
-
ESPN: Rob Mackowiak Traded to SD
If it's another "project" single A pitcher, then screw you, KW.

Gwynn, Ripken are HOF Class of 2007
QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 09:08 AM) Gwynn had 3100+ hits, but only 750 for extra bases. That's 2400 singles. For a guy who couldn't run the last ten years of his career, I don't see what all the fuss is about him. Defensively, he was the outfield version of Ripken. He caught anything he could get to, which wasn't much. Early in his career, Gwynn could run and he was a threat to steal, and he was a much more valuable defensive player. He could get on base, but he couldn't steal a base for the last ten years. He drove in 100 runs one time. I'm not arguing with his selection, but he's as flawed a player as Ripken. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?playerId=1150 I agree with much of what has been said of Ripken. Ripken was the first of the modern, slugging shortstops. He'd be in with or without the streak. Without the streak, though, he wouldn't be "Cal Ripken." http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?playerId=789 He had two MVPs & was Rookie of Year. That said, I was always way more scared of Eddie Murrray with the game on the line. This is the thing. When you think about Cal Ripken, you compare him with the greatest SS's of all time. When you think of Tony Gwynn, you compare him with the greatest hitters of all time, not just the ones at his position. You compare Ripken to Derek Jeter. You compare Gwynn to Ted Williams. The fact that Ripken is one of the best-hitting shortstops of all time does not make him a better fit for the HOF over Gwynn, one of the greatest hitters, period. Not that you were saying Ripken is more deserving.

Good anti-virus protection
What's a good buy? The only two I really know are Norton and McAfee (the second of which I hate).

Films Thread
Saw the Simpsons movie. Like Kalapse, I'd heard all of you people and some of my friends saying how funny it was. It had some pretty funny jokes in it, but it's still as bad as the new episodes are.

2007 AL Central Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) Kenny Rogers is on the DL again with left elbow inflammation. Jordan Tata has taken his rotation spot over. Oh man, I hope his nickname is Bodacious Tata.

Iguchi Traded to Phillies for RP/SP Michael Dubee
This guy won't ever crack the bigs with the Sox, will he?
-
Iguchi Traded to Phillies for RP/SP Michael Dubee
That's it? The Phillies just lost their starting 2B and got the best available 2B on the market for a single A player. Wouldn't we have gotten more by just letting Iguchi walk? (Note: I'm only on page 2, so maybe these things have been covered already) Iguchi was my favorite player on the Sox.

Official Squared Circle Thread
QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 25, 2007 -> 02:51 PM) My bad, I guess it was Milkman who said he was growing on him. All you haters are the same to me. I think LCR also said it.

I'll admit, and I think I might have in the past already, that Orton has been growing on me, too. It could just be for the lack of talent and heels in wrestling overall, but he's growing on me either way.

Stephanie Tanner gets married
Ha, well maybe it's because she was out of the spotlight entirely after the show went off the air, whereas the Olsen twins kept maturing in front of our eyes. Perhaps that's a better way of putting it. And as someone on progressiveboink put it, Stephanie looked like she was given the Pedigree through the Spanish announcer table.

Stephanie Tanner gets married
I saw Stephanie on tv a couple of years ago, and I told my friends that she ended up being the best looking one of the daughters from Full House. Nobody believed me, especially since she was the worst during the run of the show. Now you all see.

White Sox vs Indians, 7/18/07 (L)
Where does Buehrle rank in terms of ERA for AL starters now? Also, I wasn't around yesterday, but I noticed that Cleveland fans cheered when one of their relievers almost hit Thome. What a bunch of assholes.

Soxtalk.com Updated!!!!
QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 08:57 AM) Yea. The blueish one is the one I was looking for. Me too. I'm so used to the blue one that this black one, though good, is kinda throwing me off.

Nick Masset to AAA
QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 11:14 AM) His is a great success story. I'm really glad for him that our bullpen has been so bad that he gets a shot, because I had him pegged as a career minor leaguer. Well, good for him and I hope he fares well. The Sox have already had quite a few career minor leaguers in the bullpen this year. I'm not sure what made you think he couldn't get a shot. After 5 appearances, his ERA should be around 6, I'd say.

The words you hate...
I heard that exact same "smove" story, except it was a guy calling 911 and the word was "smoothie" instead. Ha, perhaps we know the same person, CC. And Asshat, I hear you loud and clear.
