Rogers: Basically, Ozzie is trying to get fired on purpose...
QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 09:31 AM) And you would move Crede, Fields or Dye to 1B? Maybe Eddie Pearson or Liefer are still available... Who gives a rat's ass who plays 1B for us for a couple of years. We won't compete either way. We can at least get some good prospects for Konerko.

Rogers: Basically, Ozzie is trying to get fired on purpose...
QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 08:50 AM) So many problems, so few options. Koneerko may have to go. he's one of the few guys with value. He's reached a point in his career where his numbers will probably decline. You can find a stop gap first baseman for a lot less. Who else can we trade that has value? AJ? Not unless the Giants take another dumb pill. Fields? Our farm system is killing us. Ever since I noticed the names in the 1B department hitting free agency this offseason, I've wanted to trade Konerko. The best FA 1B this offseason is Shea Hillenbrand. Someone would pay a lot for Pauly.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 07:43 AM) Alot is Williams fault, as far as the top 5 pick next year Sox will NOT spend top dollar on a big signing bonus and will draft the most signable guy period and cry about financial restraint! Our payroll is $100 million. SHUT UP!

I just tried for about 10 minutes to find a picture of a shirtless Piper from Cyber Sunday 2006, but I can't.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 07:10 AM) along the same lines, when Austin came back after the neck surgery lay-off he did a run in and had an enormous beer gut and had trouble rolling in the ring. (I know, it was a serious surgery and not easy to bounce back from, but visual was still funny) Also, the debut of "The Shockmaster" which was, I believe, Tugboat Thomas in a spraypainted Stormtrooper helmet. WCW set up a big dramatic thing to introduce him, he bursts through the gimmicked wall, trips and falls and his helmet falls off. I think Ventura was doing commentary and was laughing his ass off I believe everyone was laughing their ass off at that one, including Sid, who was taking part in the interview. One of the most hilarious sights was Roddy Piper winning the Tag belts with Flair. For some reason, they allowed him to wrestle without a shirt. It was absolute gold. The crowd loved it, and I think even Piper had fun with it. He was terribly out of shape. The next day on Raw, he wrestled in a shirt. I think he was forced to do so.

2007 Post ASB MLB Catch-All Thread
It's a stretch to say that Harang was robbed last year, but it's LAUGHABLE to say that he'd be robbed this year if he didn't get the Cy Young. Hell, there's two guys on the Padres alone that deserve it more than he does.

Adopt a team for the stretch Run
Padres. Teams with former Cub players usually do well pretty well in these situations. And the first guy to pop out at me was Greg Maddux.

That list would equate to about 1/3 of the baseball all-star team being suspended. And back to the botched moves, does anyone remember when they tried to bring back Vader and Goldust? Vader was leaving the ring and he fell flat on his face. On top of that, he was enormous (even moreso than he was in his prime). I felt terrible for him.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Aug 29, 2007 -> 09:48 AM) But will this student be treated accordingly by his peers? or will he/she be labeled a rat? He or she didn't snitch on someone for smoking weed in the parking lot. He or she is, I assume, also not in the mafia. There will be no labels.

Sox' Awfulness Makes National News
QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Aug 28, 2007 -> 03:09 PM) I gave up looking at the standings about a month ago. For some reason I looked today and I knew we were terrible, but I didn't realize there are only 2 teams in MLB with a record worst then us Aw, I thought we had the second-worst record? Who passed us?

Rotoworld Free Agent Hitters Article
QUOTE(Vance Law @ Aug 28, 2007 -> 07:48 PM) Granted. And that idea sounds good on paper at first look. But if you think about it a little more, having no shortstop out there would leave a pretty big hole on the left side of the infield. It would be as if you were playing with one less player, and I could see a lot of ground balls getting through right there. Also, then, when the SS is supposed to bat, there would be no one there. You're probably looking a high strikeout rate with not a batter, even if he's hitting 9th. Ha, classic.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 28, 2007 -> 09:11 AM) Before September, somebody needs to teach me how to properly say his name. I've been calling him "Berj-wah-zee", almost like the French class of people. I don't think that's correct. For it to be pronounced that way, it'd have to be spelled as bourgeoisie.

A little while ago, I ordered all 6 seasons of the Sopranos (minus the second half of 6, of course) in a box set. Well, it came today. I DID plan on going out tonight or something, but that's all changed now.

I heard that they plan on moving CM Punk to Smackdown within the coming months in order for him to compete for a more glorified belt.

Screw the catch all thread, this deserves its own

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 10:25 AM) I may be one of a small minority, but I'm REALLY looking forward to August 31st....Halloween by Rob Zombie. He has been waiting and wanting to do a Halloween "Michael Myers revisited" type movie for a while. I've not missed a Halloween premeire at the theater since Halloween 4 all those years ago. I also want to see it. I trust Rob Zombie to actually go for a true horror story instead of all the garbage horror movies that come out now that are about somebody or something jumping out of the dark for cheap scares. And I think he has too much respect for the series to just "gore it up," which is another way for s***ty directors to get cheap scares.

QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 09:42 AM) Superbad was soooooo funny! I haven't laughed that hard since blades of glory! Rush Hour 3 was really good and funny too! That's not saying much. That movie sucked. It was nowhere close to being a Will Ferrell-type-funny movie. People laughed at it because it was Ferrell, same as people laughed at the Simpsons movie because it was the Simpsons. Neither were funny.
