  1. King Booker and Regal both on Raw? Please get Finlay there and reunite the King's court...one of the best stables in years, IMO.
  2. Who was the last Sox prospect to come up and immediately contribute (hitting) for an extended period of time?
  3. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 02:04 PM) Milkman SMASH! Ha, sounds like my new slogan.
  4. I guess hate is too strong. I voted for hate, but I really just didn't come away feeling satisfied.
  5. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 07:32 AM) I am David Chase. And you're not. Series finales are tough, but with all the speculation and making people wait two years between seasons, and also having to pay for premium service, I felt Chase owed the fans something definitive. Exactly. I want to be told the story. I don't want to make it up myself. If that were the case, I'd be writing my own episodes. This type of ending always ruins movies for me. I am still pissed off.
  6. Butch and Carmine Jr. set up Phil, Phil was killed at a gas station. Show ended with Tony, Carmela, and AJ at a diner. The show suddenly ended when Meadow walked in the door. I'm talking, door opens, screen goes black. f***ing let down. f***... Oh, and Carlo's flipping to the feds.
  7. What the f***, man... That was a let down if I've ever seen one.
  8. Remember, while Billingsley may throw 95-96 right now, expect him to lose roughly 5 mph if he joins this team.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 10:05 AM) Dye and MacDougal for Billingsley and Betemit.....sign me up. It's almost to the point where I'd rather we fall even farther behind the Indians and Tigers so that KW doesn't hold out hope. That's exactly how I feel. I don't want to be one of those teams that screws up their future chances because they're kinda sorta almost still in the playoff race, when everyone really knows it's over. We can make a killing trading Dye, especially if two division rivals are both after him.
  10. OK, I have one last theory to throw out there and look foolish for later... Perhaps the rat is Carlo? His cousin was the guy that Silvio choked to death for working with NY. He admired Phil's actions in murdering Vito for being a homosexual. He's been criticized by Tony a couple of times. And I remember when all the mobsters were visiting Tony while he was recovering from the Chris accident, Benny (I think it was him) kept bringing up how Carlo was coming and Tony mentioned something like "why do you keep bringing up Carlo?" He could've been covering for him. It's a stretch, but that gives you an idea of how much I've been running this stuff through my mind.
  11. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) I don't think that's true at all. At the risk of sounding like I'm making stuff up, one of the scouts who assessed the trade for (I think) ESPN said that McCarthy had the better stuff and the higher ceiling -- if they both pitched to their potential McCarthy could be a #2 and Danks a #3 or #4 (for those that want to use that vague ranking system). I think the implication was that Danks had a better feel for pitching, but lacked overpowering pitches. That seems validated by his current performance. His fastball sits at 90 but he's pitched OK for a rookie. I wouldn't be surprised if McCarthy ends up being the better pitcher, but unless Danks falls apart the difference in service time should help make the trade a wash. He's pitched better than OK for a rookie.
  12. I've come up with 500 theories of how this will end, and I guarantee that none are right. I can hardly wait.
  13. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 07:50 AM) Today is Saturday June 9th and we only have 3 more wins that the Royals. Anyone who is against rebuilding ought to read that sentence repeatedly. We're old and our young prospects aren't very good. Our division rivals are younger and have good prospects. We're just going to get older and worse. It's time to take advantage of our players' value.
  14. I didn't recognize just 1 or 2 guys. I don't know if Cromwell should be on that list. He seems too big to me.
  15. Happy Birthday! Though, I much prefer knightEkky-ekky-ekky-ekky-z'Bang, zoom-Boing, z'nourrrwringmm
  16. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 02:34 PM) I strongly doubt Paulie is working with New York or anything like that. Now that Nucci is dead Tony is really all that Paulie has left. Ooh, so true. Maybe Paulie dies by somehow defending Tony, possibly even taking a bullet for him. So many possibilities. I cannot freaking wait. Wikipedia says the last episode is 61 minutes long. I like that it's actually longer than most other episodes.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 01:48 PM) I don't think Patsi's son gives Patsi the time of day. Where was he... the chicken s*** was likely still running. That's what's great. It can be looked at two ways. He might not be with Tony at the end because he's scared that he left Silvio for dead and ran, or he might have been part of the hit in the first place.
  18. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 01:36 PM) We keep forgetting Patsi Parisi was nowhere to be found after Silvio's shooting. Could he be working both sides and even setting his son up with Meadow to get more inside info on Tony? And I bet Patsy's harboring a grudge against Tony for the death of his twin brother. Not sure I agree with it, but it's definitely plausible. His running away can be construed as either fear or part of the hit.
  19. I didn't notice the cardboard cut-out. What's up with that?
  20. Where's that write-up? I need it!
  21. Benoit bores THE HELL out of me. I haven't found him interesting in years.
  22. Just grasping for anything here, if Paulie really is working with the NY family, he may have lied to Tony about Silvio's imminent death.
  23. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 07:35 AM) Phil wanted to decapitate Tony's family. He had to take out the top three guys. Sil was number two. I wonder if Tony can reach out to the other NY families who didn't sign off on taking out the whole NJ family? Oh, I know why they did it. I'm just expressing my emotional attachment to the character. Ha, thanks though.
  24. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 08:24 PM) I was actually very surprised by my reaction while watching the episode. I was visibly shaken as Sil was getting shot. Maybe it was just because how committed you have gotten to the characters over the last 7, 8 years, but it was sort of hard to watch it all come crashing down. I really have never been this way with any sort of show, and love it. What a fantastic episode tonight. I was actually shaking right after they shot Bobby and all through Silvio's death. I really didn't want to see them go. Now I have to root for my second favorite character...Paulie Walnuts.
  25. Why did Silvio have to go? Why?!
