Big Hurt Countdown to 500 Thread
I completely forgot about A-Rod. I mentioned to one of my friends last week how 3 guys could hit 500 this year, and one guy could get 600. He totally slipped my mind.

The Sopranos
Yeah, things are definitely beginning to move pretty quick now. You can see the stuff that happened today leading directly to some bad stuff.

Clemens back to the Yankees
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 6, 2007 -> 03:27 PM) I think the Rocket will get lit up in the AL at this point. I've been saying this for the last couple seasons. I'm thinking an average ERA is going to be his ceiling.

De La Hoya/Mayweather
Did anyone else find this fight to follow the exact same script as the new Rocky movie?

Catch-All Anything Thread
QUOTE(Brian @ May 4, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) I don't think so. Really flew under the radar. It's weird because I've been watching this HBO stuff about the De La Hoya/Mayweather fight with my buddies, and there was a Bill Maher commercial that mentioned he died. And it was news to me, but everyone else seemed to know. And it made me think that most of my knowledge on current affairs comes from this site, and I could swear nobody has ever mentioned it.

White Sox vs. Angels, 4/29/07 (L)
QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 05:39 PM) Well the report I read had him at 97-98 in the pen, so even if the report was 3 mph off he should still be throwing93-96, not 89-90. Let's also remember that Masset is being used in a long relief type of role. That might mean that he has to take a little something off of his fastball to go an extra inning or two.

Anderson sent down to AAA
QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 06:29 PM) Until Brian Anderson Leads the White Sox to a world series , I will side with Ozzie every f***ing time. OK, what if Ozzie develops some personal vendetta against one of Contreras/Buehrle/Garland? I mean, the guys who actually led this team to a World Series. Who do you side with then?

Anderson sent down to AAA
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 06:04 PM) Makes sense. I said it before and I'll say it again, I expect Sweeney to get a lot of Ab's and I wouldn't be shocked if he earned a boatload of at bats for the remainder of the season (and if he doesn't, he'll go back down to AAA). Sweeney is the future outfielder in this org, not BA. Good luck down in AAA BA, maybe you can figure things out because you really don't deserve to have been on a major league roster at all this season. The fact is that Brian Anderson couldn't out hit a lot of pitchers right now. Broadway leaving early is bad news because the Sox aren't about to call up another pitcher. However, a trade could be in the works (now that is a possibility as I know they have been trying to work out a trade as of late but I'm not sure just how realistic it is since most teams aren't quite ready to give guys up). Until he can't hit for a good average after a couple months, and he gets on Ozzie's bad side. Or until he does something that rubs Ozzie the wrong way, and he gets on Ozzie's bad side.

Who is the back-up CF? Sweeney? Terrero?

Once again, confidence in our softer-throwing, fat-body closer is declining.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) We could be 30-132 and Walker would not be fired. I am so confident that Walker will not be fired that I will change by name to Penis if he is fired during the season. Hahaha...now I really hope he's fired. Dang...

How deep into the season must we get before there is actually a real chance that Walker is fired?

Official 2006-2007 NBA Discussion Thread
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) And the bulls are about to sweep the defending champs! Who would have thought. I'm not a basketball fan, but this reminds me of when the Sox swept the defending champions in the first round of the playoffs.

Thome to the DL
With Thome being injured almost all of 2005, and the second half of 2006, it's pretty bad news for him to be hurt this early in 2007.

Hunter hit in mouth by pitch
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 07:09 PM) Was Greinke throwing the new pitching he has been working on called the STFU? No, I believe the new pitch is called "sweet chin music," if I'm not mistaken.

Official "Squared Circle" Thread
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 08:20 PM) Interesting news and notes from rajah.com source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter Arn Anderson was recently approached about coming out of retirement. The original idea called for him to wrestle in one or two TV matches where he'd team up with Ric Flair to help market the Four Horsemen DVD. Triple H was the main person pushing for it, as was Stephanie McMahon. Anderson was positive about the idea, but due to legal liabilities to the company in case he was injured with the pre-existing condition, it won't happen unless there is a medical clearance. When the idea got out, the idea got out of control, to the point it was talked about him becoming a player/coach on RAW, similar to Finlay on SmackDown. The idea is that Anderson and Finlay are about the same age, and Finlay was out of action for several years, came back, and ended up being one of the best workers in the company. WWE has handed down a 60-day suspension on SmackDown referee Chris Kay. The reason for his suspension has yet to be disclosed. The referee roster is thinned out moreso because Nick Patrick in on limited duty due to a sore back. Although there is no real talk on the subject, Mistico's CMLL contract expires in June. WWE didn't sign him after his tryout in February because they were led to be believe that he was under a long-term contract to CMLL. Mr. Kennedy, MVP, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch are getting marks from some people in management because they are studying 80s tapes of long matches to improve their ring psychology. MVP has shelves full of videos from that era of Eddie Guerrero, Dynamite Kid, Dean Malenko, Tiger Mask and Toshiaki Kawada among others. WWE has taken action against Randy Orton for unprofessional conduct To the first part, damn straight. To the second, yayyyyyyy.

Just thought this was weird. Look up "ron karkovice" on google images, go to the 4th page, and look at the very first picture. Makes me wish I hadn't looked up Karko in the first place.
