  1. QUOTE(knightni @ May 27, 2007 -> 01:47 PM) San Francisco All glory to Barry Bonds!!11!1!11!! Wasn't it in PNC last year? I thought it switched leagues every year?
  2. It would've been nice if PK could've moved into 3rd on that single earlier. It's something 99% of major leaguers could accomplish.
  3. I live a couple blocks from the park, and the weather wasn't that bad at all. It's baseball, you play in some wet weather once in a while. I've seen games played in much worse weather than last night. I don't really care, though. I spent the night watching UFC and drinking for free. Where is the ASG this year?
  4. A belated happy birthday to juddling and kyyle23
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 22, 2007 -> 12:00 AM) He's tied for the lead league in saves, and 13 for 14 percentage wise. Will a day ever come where that is good enough and he doesn't have to throw 1 million miles an hour? Keep in mind, the fastest pitch he's ever thrown (102 in Seattle right after he came up in '05) was smased for a double. I'm pretty sure that's wrong. I remember when he hit 102, and DJ and Hawk said something like "102?!" as the pitch was caught by the catcher. The pitch that was hit for a double to RF was the next pitch, or a few pitches later.
  6. QUOTE(Brian @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:21 PM) ^^^^^^ Masset or Aardsma would of been better. He should clearly not be the go-to righty anymore. He's been anything but good this year, and Aardsma has been spectacular.
  7. Perhaps it's time to stop bringing in MacDougal is pressure situations.
  8. Looking at the individual averages, it's very possible that Thome might be the only regular to hit .300 this year. I'm sure most, if not all, of the hitters will improve as the year goes on, but they've gotten themselves in such a terrible hole so deep into the season that they probably can't raise their averages that much.
  9. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:35 PM) Maybe Desalvo for the Yankees yesterday. That would make sense. It just seems that every starter goes deep into games against this team. And they especially seem to breeze through the first 3 innings or so. Thankfully, as mentioned before, our starters are doing just about the same thing.
  10. Does anyone know the shortest outing against the Sox this year?
  11. It's like every starter is guaranteed to go at least 6 (and probably 7) innings against us.
  12. QUOTE(Brian @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:20 PM) That's unfortunate. He has come a long way since the "3 Count" days. You're right, he is not big enough to pull off the tough guy heel image. For me, it's not that he's not big enough. It's that he doesn't have a gimmick. Basically no singles wrestler has a good gimmick anymore. The Hurricane gimmick was easily one of the best in recent years, and they dropped it to put a vest on Helms and make him cocky. Ooh, wow that's cool.
  13. Gregory Helms out for a year with some sort of neck fusion surgery. I'm gonna hope they bring him back as the Hurricane. That was one of the better gimmicks of the last few years, much better than his current gimmick of "man with leather vest."
  14. Seems Buehrle's ERA has been rising steadily for a couple weeks now.
  15. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 18, 2007 -> 01:21 AM) From the years 94-00, the M's were a mediocre team. Had a few playoff seasons, nothing special. Then, all of a sudden, the year ARod leaves, they win 116 games! From the years 01-03, the Rangers were the basement dwellers of the West. Then all of a sudden when he leaves, they win 89 games. Coincidences, I think not. You make me sad to not only be a White Sox fan, but a baseball fan in general.
  16. QUOTE(spiderman @ May 17, 2007 -> 09:41 PM) This was in today's SunTimes, Williams talking about Sweeney: ''That kid's not going anywhere,'' Williams said. ''It takes a long time to get mature -- I'm talking about baseball mature. And he is right now. ''We're going to let him ride that out, let him play and see how far he can take it. It's always a plus when you can develop your own talent. He not only has shown that he can hit at this level but has come up with the big hit. We'll let it ride with him, see where it takes us.'' KW is just about the only guy in the organization that I have unwavering faith in. He is just really good at his job.
  17. I'll give you a billion Stanley nickels if you never talk to me again.
  18. One of those all around feel good games. Jenks has 13 saves already, that's pretty nice.
  19. They must've changed a ruling from the game. DeSalvo's ERA went up without him even pitching the last few innings. I wonder who benefitted from that.
  20. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 17, 2007 -> 04:45 PM) Damn. Ryan now at .209. A perfectly acceptable average on this team.
  21. QUOTE(vandy125 @ May 17, 2007 -> 03:13 PM) He is just trying to develop that home run power I still smile every time I see your sig. Throughout the entire playoff run in 2005, that was the only time I outwardly showed any emotion at all (until the final out of game four, of course).
  22. Since I'm still not able to watch the games, I have to go by gameday. Is Sweeney's luster wearing off already?
