QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) Ditto. Hate them almost as much as the asshole that rides the merge lane until the last second, then almost causes an accident to get over. And how about the jerk who sees you with your turn signal on, traffic is stopped, and acts like he doesn't see you to let you in? Or worse yet, the person obviously speeds up to prevent you from merging. That's just being a dick, ha.
-
I hate when you let someone in front of you in traffic, and they don't wave, like they're entitled to be there and don't give a s*** that you were nice enough to let them in. On the other hand, it always makes my day a little better when the other person waves.

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 3, 2007 -> 08:25 PM) I completely agree with this. I'll be surprised if he's with the organization at this point next week. Hopefully he's traded for Pat Burrell or Damon, and not some AAAA pitcher. Getting Damon and then hopefully signing Hunter...that would be a solid outfield. If they could do that, and then somehow replace Uribe with a half-decent hitting SS, the offense and defense should be good. The infield defense would suffer, while the outfield defense would get a huge boost. But, then we'd have to worry about our pitching staff. That's going to be a tough one, ha.

QUOTE(Shadows @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 11:01 PM) you are bound to score sometime.. however I have had somewhat the same convo with my friends I am 100% sure that me and four of my friends could beat the best WNBA team, and I will even go out and say that it wouldnt even be close.. I LOLed, I'll admit it. I remember starting a poll about whether anyone would rather have a WNBA championship in their home town, or 5 bucks. The money won in a landslide. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 09:41 PM) Of course you could....in a 48 minute game, you could just throw up half-courters the whole time and probably make a handful. QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 10:03 PM) At some point when they were trying to block you, they'd catch some arm and you'd get free throws. The only scenario I'd be really worried about would be if they started missing shots on purpose and dominating the glass just to refresh the shot clock and hold the ball the entire game. Those are the two arguments I kept making. You guys rock. -
QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 06:04 PM) Hopefully he opens his own hall of fame that respects people's accomplishments on the field and doesnt get swayed by rumor and hearsay. Bonds has never been caught cheating, he has never been found guilty, and yet he is made an example of? What about all the pitchers in the HOF who threw spit balls, why are they not branded the same way? What about players who corked their bat and were caught on the playing field. Why is Bonds the example? Its a joke, and Bonds is right. This isn't a democracy. This is baseball.

I had this argument with a friend of mine. He won't budge from this theory that a team of myself and four of my friends (himself included) could not score one single point against an NBA team in a full regulation game. The stipulation is that the NBA team is trying to play its hardest (which we all know never happens in reality). So, do you think that a team of yourself and four friends could score one measley point on an NBA team? I think it's utterly ridiculous that we couldn't score once, even on a lucky shot or a foul or something. To me, he seems to be attributing god-like qualities to these athletes.

World Series: Red Sox v. Rockies
Milkman delivers replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in The Diamond Club
Does Boston now have the two highest payrolls for a World Series winner (2004 and 2007)? -

World Series: Red Sox v. Rockies
Milkman delivers replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in The Diamond Club
I'd really like to see the Rockies win it. But, they won't. -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) WTF are you talking about? I don't even have a clue what you're trying to get at at this point, other than the sports radio caller mentality of, "THEY'RE CHOKING!". It's not choking, it's losing a baseball game to a f***ing damn good team. It's possibly losing 3 straight games with a chance to go to the World Series by just winning one. I'd call that choking.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 09:40 PM) Cle is folding under the pressure. Hafner is laying a huge egg in this series. They look very wide-eyed out there. Don't forget Fatty McGee. He's sucked in all of his postseason starts, I believe.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 12:36 PM) I think it's more than that - I think the momentum has shifted and Schilling will win tonight. And I wouldn't have a lot of faith in Westbrook on the road in game 7. Even with a 3-2 lead, I think cleveland's in trouble. And I stand by my prediction that Peralta will make a significant error in these playoffs. Ugh, I agree. I just know Schilling is going to step up huge, and mostly because I hate him so much. And I'm feeling that the Red Sox somehow have the advantage still.

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 01:21 PM) Heard Across the Universe was very Mamma Mia-- story was a pretense for the songs. Is that true? no interest in Into the Wild - is there a plot? or does the guy wander aimlessly in the wilderness for two hours and then die? went to the 30 Days of Night premiere last night - I loved it! Good suspense, story, acting, etc. The vampires weren't too cheesy, and Josh Hartnett actually was okay. Good action and violence too. I recommend it. Just got back from that. I would actually buy this movie, and I own very few DVD's. That should tell you something.

I always just assumed he was gay. You know, with the English accent and all.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 08:11 PM) That little bit Kevin Millar did at the end of the pre-game show was a joke. "Let's go Sox!"...? WTF is that s***? You are supposed to provide a neutral broadcast, and that is about the furthest away from neutral as you can get. If anything, atleast let someone from Cleveland do a bit about the Indians too. Well, broadcasters are not supposed to be impartial anymore, I guess. Remember Berman? OHHHHH NOOOOOOO!!!!

You're kidding? You've now let two Christmas Vacation lines pass...I'm ashamed.

QUOTE(G&T @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 12:55 PM) actually it made me laugh out loud in class. This is my first post ever from a class. Yay Con Law That's why I've always liked you. You're cool, unlike these other cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sacks of monkey s***.

No love for my Christmas Vacation reference? I hate you all.

I thought you were asking what to do about an actual skunk. My answer would've been to catch it in your coat, and hit it with a hammer.

D'Backs vs. Rockies NLCS Thread
Milkman delivers replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in The Diamond Club
I actually did predict this. I also said it would be the Indians to win the AL (and I've also picked every other series correctly so far). The only one I stated, though, is the Rockies winning the NL. -
D'Backs vs. Rockies NLCS Thread
Milkman delivers replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in The Diamond Club
The phrase "National League Champion Colorado Rockies" is just something that really never crossed my mind before a couple of weeks ago. I personally felt that they would make it to the World Series where they would fall to the Indians, but maybe, just maybe they'll somehow pull it out. I'll certainly be rooting for them. -

You might want to go to your bullpen.
