AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!
The biggest thing about this is that it allows for Garland to go for the series win tomorrow and *gasp* a two-game winning streak. Honestly, this could be the start of something great.

Please be that game we need to get back on track...

Wow, I absolutely cannot believe that. Welcome to the team, Ross.

Hawk and DJ back to dishing out the excuses. Apparently, our players are all struggling because they don't want to be traded away from their bestest friends.

QUOTE(G&T @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) Yes, this team could be good next year. Plus there's no way to orchestrate a mass sell off with these contracts in one day. That's true. It's a little late to think about that. I was just thinking maybe he could get rid of some of the over-paid starters, free up some money, try to do something in free agency, and make another run next year. I'm just extremely frustrated.

I'll ask again since nobody answered before. If we get crushed this weekend, would you be angry at KW for having a white flag trade?

Runners in scoring position is our kryptonite.

Wait, why the hell didn't Ozuna score on that? I mean, that was clearly gone or off the wall.

QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:27 PM) I take issue with this. Ozzie took this club where it hadn't gone in, like, 100 years. I am sick of hearing how sh***y Ozzie is, when his starting pitchers have summarily lost their velocity and overall effectiveness. Nobody could manage this starting staff into a pennant winner. Their effectiveness is integral to the team's success and he has done everything to help, coddle and instil confidence. Fact is, these players do not look motivated at all. That is what Ozzie is supposed to be good at, getting his guys up for the game. We all already know that he's pretty sub-par at managing a game, so he has to be good at motivation. I just want to see some intensity out of these guys. Ozzie might as well say "meh" to every question he is asked in his postgame conferences. He just doesn't seem to think much of this terrible play.

Here's an honest question: If we get swept by the Orioles, or just get dominated again, would you be angry if KW did another white flag trade? Maybe try to stock up for another run next year?

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:18 PM) I find it interesting that Ozzie has publicly reacted to this awful stretch by acting like it is no big deal. I see no intensity, fire, frustration, urgency from him. No wonder the team isn't showing any fire either. Leyland, who is a good manager and not just a cheerleader, ripped into his team earlier in the year and they haven't looked back since then. Ozzie, who is a bad manager and a great cheerleader/motivator, is seemingly allowing this team to slide.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) I can't see where he's adding to his trade value pissing away lead after lead. AT LEAST HE CAN GIVE US 200 INNINGS. HE'S A WORKHORSE. Nevermind the fact that the 200 innings will result in roughly 200 runs for the opposition.

I hope Ozzie throws a fishing gigantic spifffit in the clubhouse later. This lack of intensity is pathetic. These guys are making 100 million dollars. Heads should fishing roll.

7/28/2006 White Sox v. Orioles
I figured Patterson would be on second easily, but I didn't expect him to be on third so quickly.
-
7/28/2006 White Sox v. Orioles
Oh, and we look like we don't even give a spiff anymore.

QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) I never said Roberts was the someone who has or does not have power. In general, I am surprised that other teams don't run Freddie's fat, sweaty ass around more. And Roberts hit 18 homers last year when he grew up as a hitter. Yeah, I know. I just wanted to say how someone with very little power this year has taken Freddy deep today. You know, just to highlight how terrible he is.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) It is amazing the Sox refuse to put BMac in the rotation, but he could get you Soriano or Zito in a trade. Seems like stupidity to me. Somebody in Trade Winds said something like that. McCarthy is too good to trade for Soriano, but he's not good enough to take Vazquez's spot in the rotation. Seems pretty ridiculous.

QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) Some guys have very little power That was Brian Roberts' second homer of the year Point, Milkman. Garcia digging us quite the hole.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) Why is it when our pitchers give up a homer, there is always someone who says they hit a good pitch? Freddy Garcia for some reason is washed up. It's weird, but that's exactly how it feels. It's just 5 years earlier than expected.

7/28/2006 White Sox v. Orioles
QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 06:59 PM) I am surprised he isn't bunted on more. Why hit a ball 10 feet when you can hit it 450?

7/28/2006 White Sox v. Orioles
Uribe's defense is awesome and all, but he has some terrible throws.
-
7/28/2006 White Sox v. Orioles
Our rotation is in shambles right now. We have 3 automatic losses. And recently, Contreras is racking up the losses even while pitching decently.
-

And Freddy gives the run right back. Comical, almost.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 06:51 PM) Lol. Bases loaded, no runs score. What a start. We have to be setting a record for most times in a season leaving the bases juiced. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 06:52 PM) Lol. Bases loaded, no runs score. What a start. ... .... ..... I'm drawing a blank. Didn't we light up Kenny Rogers in Garlands start in Detroit? Or was it someone else. Robertson, I believe. I think the Gambler shut us down.

Damn it, I'm so tired of leaving runners in scoring position. I'm also sick of our lazy ground outs to the left side.
