  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 5, 2012 -> 10:08 PM) Should be interesting season having Peavy ready to go from the get-go. It baffles me the Sox would have Mr. Moneybags on the team and let Buehrle go. Peavy's finally ready, now we have no Buehrle to fulfill the long-coveted 1-2 all-star punch. Sale better be good or this team is in a world of hurt starting pitching wise. If Peavy is Verlander this year and Sale is lights out to go with above average Danks and Floyd, we could have a chance at a top five starting rotation in the AL. With veterans Konerko, Dunn, AJ, Lexi and Rios we have some guys who might be extra motivated to go with the younger position players. One thing is for sure. This team is NOT REBUILDING just because Tank and DeAza and Morel and Beckham will be playing. That does not constitute rebuilding with all the veterans we have. WE NEED PEAVY. It has been explained to you 600 times. If it still baffles you, then you're purposely being obtuse.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 5, 2012 -> 10:04 PM) My favorites: Fiat Italian woman Doritos dog > cat Bud Light Here Wego dog VW dog/Vader combo They all sucked this year. The best one hardly got a chuckle out of me.
  3. None of you won. By the way, it was the Doritos commercial with the dog killing the cats and bribing the guy to keep quiet.
  4. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Feb 5, 2012 -> 04:52 PM) Gordon Beckham's bat too. I would imagine that Beckham's bat would like him to stay.
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 5, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) And no. What if he wins another Super Bowl? That'd be 3-3, with Manning taking two of them in head-to-head games.
  6. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Feb 5, 2012 -> 08:20 PM) That was a clear as day pass interference on the Pats and no whistle. They were doing it all game. I was convinced that the game was going to end on a missed FG by the Giants. I'll never get tired of watching the Patriots lose in the Super Bowl.
  7. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Feb 5, 2012 -> 01:23 PM) This I couldn't care less about the commercials, pre gamr hoopla or the s***ty half-time show, just let me watch the damn game and cut all the other crap out...people who care about the ads are corporate sheep. Giants 31 Pats 28 Don't enjoy commercials the only time of the year that they're bearable, or else you're a corporate sheep.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 5, 2012 -> 08:59 AM) It was said that he was a former fighter so he had experience in the past in bigger fights outside of the parking lot stuff. Not to mention, it is a movie. Next thing you know you will tell me animals don't really sing and dance. Yes, I watched the movie and paid attention. I don't think you're listening to me. I said it would have been better if they just left Angle's character out of it entirely. A teacher with past fighting experience winning a professional MMA tournament is a good enough, semi-believable story by itself. What I'm saying is that they took it a little too far by having him ALSO give the first career loss to a guy they earlier described as the greatest fighter of all time (or something like that). Between that and the actual matches, the lack of believability brought it down a notch for me.
  9. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Feb 5, 2012 -> 01:24 AM) I agree. It kept my attention and was entertaining but as I was watching it I just kept thinking how unlikely the whole thing was. I'm glad someone agrees.
  10. Saw that before. Mask or someone actually hiding?
  11. QUOTE (SI1020 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) What one is listed at and what one really weighs is sometimes far apart. You might find this interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Surkont That would have to be a huge discrepancy from his listed weight for him to be considered fat enough to eat his way off of a team. I've heard of guys being 20 or 30 pounds different, but this guy had to be 50+ pounds heavier than listed.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 01:02 PM) I have to re-watch it again cause I do remember some of the fight scenes being a little over the top but powerbombs do happen every now and than in mma and Rich Franklin was a school teacher before he became a fighter so ya... Those things happen now and then, yes. But the movie was constant things like that. Think of Varsity Blues or something with the repeated crazy hits and such. And again, I said it would be enough to have the teacher win an official MMA tournament for it to be a cool story. Having that guy also beat the undefeated "greatest wrestler of all time" as well was the part that was totally unnecessary.
  13. There is no way a guy of that height and weight could possibly be considered fat.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 08:03 AM) Goosebumps go away yet? I liked it, but it definitely had a few things going against it. Besides it being saccharine during the last half, almost all of the fights were ridiculously fake. They should have just modeled the fights after real MMA fights (like punch for punch). There was just way too many power bombs, suplexes, and over-the-top take downs for me to really take it seriously. Plus, it really didn't need the school teacher to beat the universally agreed-upon greatest fighter in history that's also undefeated. A guy like that simply winning a professional MMA tournament is plenty.
  15. Watched Man On Wire. I liked it, who the hell had the idea of using white subtitles in a movie where almost half of it is old black and white clips? I couldn't read a lot of it. Watching Warrior right now.
  16. Hugo was awesome.
  17. I bet the Sox sign none.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 10:48 PM) I don't get how this can happen. I mean, if I'm hammered, I tend to lose control of my vomit. But s***ting all over a bathroom stall? Really? As soon as he got to the stall, he turned around and pulled his pants down, but started before he could even sit down.
  19. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) Dude, I could not figure out how the hell it got on some of those places. It was like someone held the guy in the air and flung him around. And damn, it must have happened like five minutes before I opened the door. It nearly ruined my Hunger Buster and Blizzard Nearly, haha. Yeah, that's something that would cause me to quit on the spot if I were told to clean it up. A friend of mine did something like that once to a toilet. It was at one of those wing places and he simply didn't make it all the way to the toilet, although it was all in the stall. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 09:31 PM) I walked into a bathroom in a pretty nice office complex a few years ago and next to the toilet - NEXT TO THE TOILET - was a 12 inch turd on a piece of toilet paper. Laid out like a trophy on the floor. Who does that? Not a bathroom story, but I was following a truck the other day that was spraying a "mist" out of the top. I changed lanes to avoid the "mist," and when I finally caught it I saw that it was a port-o-potty sanitation truck. Spraying a fine mist of feces and urine in Mesa, AZ. Laying down a nice welcome mat for Theo, I'm sure. This is the greatest thread ever.
  20. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) Mine was at the Aragon Brawl Room. The lines during an AC/DC concert were so long that guys lined up to go behind a door with the pee running out from under the door and down the aisles. Legitimate. meant for bathroom was in a Dairy Queen. Someone had diarrhea all over the bathroom. Sink, walls, floor, you name it. Then threw paper towels over it. I laughed for almost a full minute at the second part.
  21. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 06:15 PM) Is there any doubt that Cool Runnings is the best movie of all time? You're right, there isn't. No doubt whatsoever.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) If saying that Alexei could and should have done better on offense last year is "Going after him", then fine, I'm going after him, but then I think I'm "Going after" at least 20+ members of last year's team. Get 'em, Pa.
  23. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 04:26 PM) Im hoping to catch a lot of $10 games sitting in lower reserved with stubhub. Wait, are lower reserved the ones that jut out between the upper deck and baseline seats? Like 5 rows deep?
