What's the deal with nun-chucks?

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart is my first favorite album of 2009. It sounds like a fuzzed out Belle & Sebastian, which is right up my alley.

This is such a colossal crock of bulls***. Unemployment in the US is like 50%, in the UK it's 65% and in some places like Sweden it's above 80%. America has some pretty sweet distinctions too among developed countries: we are the only developed country in the world without universal healthcare (yet you lament Medicare and Medicaid) and/or any government mandated sick pay. The "reward" for people that dont save for college amounts to a $3500/year Stafford loan with 3% interest rates. The best part is, none of the socially democratic countries around the globe have anywhere near the deficit we do despite all the "failures they reward."

Her political capital is kaput. 50+% of the country wont vote for her at this point, rendering her unelectable outside of Alaska. Let's stop paying attention to her.

Generally speaking, it was you (the American people) that said lobbyists were bad and Obama's stance is a reflection of that. We said we wanted lobbyists out of government and as ridiculous as that might be Obama is obliged to fulfill his campaign promise and at least give the illusion that he's trying.

They moved Coachella up this year because it conflicts with pretty much every final exam schedule in the country.

And do what? Get rid of single member districts? It's the nature of the system, it has nothing to do with the individuals we elect. There is no real alternative either, proportional representation might work great for Sweden but America is 3000 miles across and the logistics alone make it impossible. Sure money gets wasted, but pork accounts for considerably less than 1% of the budget. Removing the aspect of the system that creates pork would render the system itself toothless.

It's a Senator's job to get pork for their state. That's the whole point of representative democracy. It is why our system is the way it is.
