QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 02:25 AM) http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/12/gam...-says-microsoft Microsoft: "Don't have internet? You have a 360." Or a PS4 or Wii U... It is seriously amazing how arrogant they continue to be after the disaster of the last two days. It isnt just some guy on a nuclear sub that doesnt have internet

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 08:39 PM) I just don't get it. Nintendo will get no 3rd party support once developers start tapping into the true power of the other next gen systems. If Nintendo was releasing a major 1st party game every month it probably wouldn't matter, but that's never going to be the case. Without big developers like EA, Activision, & Ubisoft there will major droughts throughout the year and in key genres. For f***'s sake, EA isn't even putting a Madden on the system this year. Also, they initially sold the Wii U as a console for the hardcore gamer, but so far it seems like they're still targeting the casual gamer with Nintendo Land, Wii Fit/Party, & two safe Mario games. That's what pisses me off. I want to see a next gen experience, not another Wii Party in HD. Nintendo can make some of the best pure gaming experiences, which should only be more immersive with HD graphics, but they're over-saturating themselves with this casual garbage. I long ago stopped trying to understand their plan. I'm with you, I wish they would open up to the third party support too, but they are notoriously obsessive compulsive with third parties and meddle a lot. In th end I get the games I want and I also find some new ones here and there that fill out my collection. For the Wii I really liked World of Goo, De Blob(1 and 2), Lost in Shadow, Toki Tori, and A Boy and his Blob outside of the normal Mario's and Zelda's. I already bought Pikmin and Wonderful 101, now I'm just waiting for them to get released. Not really all that excited for Bayonetta 2, but I do want to give Lego City Undercover a shot, and I'm sure the Disney "Skylanders" type game will make its way into my collection seeing how I have a 12 year old, a 3 year old and a newborn. It's just so f***ing annoying how they drag everything out

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 07:58 PM) New Smash character: Wii Fit Trainer. Lol I watched the gameplay of Megaman, Samus and Starfox. The game looks very slick. Mariokart 8 looks insane, driving up walls and the auto hover karts. I want to play now.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 06:30 PM) Nintendo may lose this gen, but can still recover. The decision to go with current gen graphics 7 years after the fact is very odd. They exist in their own little bubble

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 05:04 PM) I'm a huge Nintendo fan, but I'm actually disgusted by them as of late, at least on the console side. The Wii U is a complete joke right now. The GamePad is still just a gimmick and there is literally no software right now. What's even more concerning is there is very little coming out the rest of the year. I count four key exclusives over the next 6 1/2 months: Pikman 3, The Wonderful 101, Donkey Kong Country, & 3D Mario World. And BTW, I don't count Wind Waker as an exclusive either. It's nice bonus game but plenty of Wii U already own it on GameCube. Where's the killer ap? Where's the game that shows what the Wii U is all about? A 3D Mario game should do that. It's the game that rewards the hardcore Nintendo loyalists who go months without anything worthwhile to play. Instead we get a ripoff of a handheld game that will appeal to casual gamers. That right there pisses me off like nothing else. We won't be getting a true successor to Super Mario Galaxy for at least three years now. And what about Retro Studios? Instead of a cool, new IP or even a Metroid Prime sequel (which could have made use of the GamePad), they made a cookie cutter sequel to a Wii platformer. What a waste of an incredibly talented studio, although not surprisingly, a lot of the talent is actually leaving, probably due to a lock of creative control. I get that Mario Kart & Smash Brothers will sell some systems, but they don't come out until 2014. By then there will be four other consoles on the market if you consider the current gen, and Wii U will be caught dead in the middle, probably without any 3rd party support. That's a bad spot to be in, especially when the GamePad gimmick doesn't translate to cheap sales like the Wiimote did. Nintendo had to come big this holiday season and they've failed. The system is quite f***ed IMO. I think the gamepad will function a little bit more than a gimmick, but I can't disagree with most of what you said. I am pretty sure they are waiting in the weeds with Starfox and Metroid

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 03:02 PM) Eh, likely just my preference / nostalgia on those. I know Nintendo has many faults. They drive me insane. Some slight tweaks and they could be right up there with Sony and MS, but they just refuse to take the big leap. But damn when they deliver, I am very happy.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 02:59 PM) I will admit that Super Mario Galaxy was straight up awesome. All the new Mario Karts struggle to recapture the greatness of the original. Man, I dont know what you are saying here. Double Dash and MKWii were awesome

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 02:54 PM) So you're happy with a system that provides no games? Just admit it's a piece of s*** that you jumped on way too early. I have a robin's nest in my backyard that has almost as many games as the WiiU. No, I will be happy when I get my Mario, Zelda, Kart, Pikmin and some others like the Xeno game that Monolith is coming out with and Wonderful 101. I know what I like, as hard as it is for you to understand. I dont play any sports games, no COD, nothing like that. I play a lot of retro games on my WiiU already.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 02:44 PM) LOL at WiiU in this one. Poor KYYLE. You dont have to pity me, Im happy with what I have. Not all people want Sony and Xbox. I just need some damn games

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 10, 2013 -> 02:44 PM) Nintendo is dead as a console company, like SEGA but at a slower pace. The Wii U is/was an utter failure. I still can't believe they decided to launch a console with a gimmick instead of games. People have said this since GameCube, and the Wii came in and sold like crazy. Sometimes they swing and miss bigtime, but they certainly aren't dead.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 10, 2013 -> 02:07 PM) He'd have to take another 6-7 years to finish a book and a half (if he's truly done with half of book 6) for this to be a problem. Next season is the 2nd half of book 3, and books 4 and 5 can be stretched out to 3 seasons if need be. There's plenty of source material to keep this thing going until he finishes the books. and who knows, maybe book 6 is huge and that can be split into a few seasons.
