  1. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 10:49 PM) 6 to 12 feet. We made it to the Final 4 for the second time, but this tournament was only 32 teams I think. Last time it was 64. We could have played the 3rd place game, but after 5 straight games, we were all dead tired. I pitched every game, had to have at least 30 strikeouts in those 5 games. One of the games I struck out about 12, 10 of them looking. My pitch moves about 3-4 feet in the air, it's disgusting. LMAO ok We had our playoff last night and lost the championship game 11-9 after winning our semifinal 20-0. We finished our first game a half hour before the other team finished theirs and we just came in cold. http://www.quickscores.com/Orgs/ResultsDis...LeagueID=457196 we are the Flyballers
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 12:40 PM) You can certainly buy players at some level...but I think what MLB is really trying to avoid is "The Yankees sent the Marlins $100 million for Jose Fernandez", almost entirely on competitive balance grounds. You know darn well both teams would do that if it were legal. And that'd be disturbingly close to what is being advocated here, picking up someone's contract almost entirely in exchange for young talent. Again, when you look at it like that, you have to wonder why they allow the posting fees for international players from Asian leagues and not allow it within the MLB. Teams are buying Dice-Ks and Darvish's, why cant they buy from another team?
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 12:16 PM) Then you run into the other problem...MLB literally wouldn't allow this. Trades involving money moving around have to be approved by the commish's office and whatever rules they follow it seems like they make sure it's an actual trade with people being moved, not just money. It is strange that they would allow slot money to be traded for the purpose of acquiring better international prospects (like the Cubs did to land all of those top prospects) but they wont allow money to change hand between teams in order to acquire better prospects from minor leagues

QUOTE (kev211 @ Aug 7, 2013 -> 08:20 PM) Damn you. Read this post 5 hours ago and have been playing since. LMAO. It is a fun game The second challenge of each level drives me insane. The stupid dogs always seem to overwhelm my towers and one always slips through at the last second
  5. The pretty soft men
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 7, 2013 -> 01:52 PM) My issue was with the presentation of the phrase. It was just so cheesy to have this huge bright sign proclaiming the stadium's nickname. Put up a banner next to Stanley Cup banners or a note at the top of the scoreboard. The large signs across the length of the ice were so forced IMO. It should be the Madhouse because people call it that, not because the Hawks put up a huge sign saying so. I always thought it was the Madhouse on Madison because people called it that, and then the sign went up acknowledging it. People are acting like McDonough made up this catchphrase and ran with it. The Chicago Stadium and the UC always have(and had) great crowds, hence the nickname.
  7. What a bizarre article. It is just like "HEY EVERYBODY THIS GUY DID PEDS ONCE EVERYONE POINT AND LAUGH"
  8. It will be interesting to see if broadcasters still refer to the UC as the Madhouse on Madison, or if they will be told not to say that anymore.
  9. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 6, 2013 -> 11:18 PM) I'd add in the Cards to this crazy list. Adams/Tavares/Martinez or Wacha/Carpenter(hitter) for Sale and Lexi. I'd want at least one guy who has already produced admirably at the major league level. Adams and Carpenter(who could make sense with Wong coming up) give you that. Throw in 2 more top 26 prospects and I just couldn't say no to that..Added Lexi just to make it a little more realistic. It'd have to be something ridiculous like that. I think that is a terrible return for Sale, much less Sale and Alexei.

  12. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Aug 6, 2013 -> 07:30 PM) Anyone have a count for outs made on the basepaths by De Aza this season? Whatever that number is, it starts with "LOL"
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 6, 2013 -> 07:19 PM) Sale looks super pissed off He should be. I swear every time he pitches, Alexei hangs unearned runs on him

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 6, 2013 -> 01:11 PM) Oh yeah, forgot about Super Mario Galaxy One and Two which are the most critically well received games of all time. Still have to play two. It is pretty awesome. The Green Star mode is maddening and addictive
  17. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 6, 2013 -> 01:52 PM) No. Konerko is done. I hope he knows it. The Sox cannot give him another contract. I can't believe the people here that actually want him back. It's over people. Just stop hanging on. This thread is crazy to me. Why? We all want Rios gone
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 6, 2013 -> 12:14 PM) Is the thread where Brandon Allen was traded still available? There were a few people on here claiming he was a future all star. was it a certain person who also claimed Chris Carter was the next big thing?
  19. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 10:32 AM) Arod will never play again. Except against the Sox while appealing. Lol
  20. A: the most terrible joke in the history of soxtalk
  21. QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Aug 3, 2013 -> 07:17 PM) For the life of me I can't understand how Ventura can keep running that same batting order out there game after game. We have one 300 hitter and he hits 8th, in front of a 206 hitter. Beckham gets no protection, and is not allowed to provide protection for anyone else. Unbelievable. He hasn't run the same batting lineup out all year. None of them have worked. I will repost this since you ignored it the first time QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 10:20 AM) In 102 games, the Sox have used 70 different batting orders, and no one order more than 6 times.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 2, 2013 -> 04:09 PM) That is one sexy piece of man meat. That would be awesome if he really put that cigarette behind his ear. He has spoofed Smoking Jay Cutler a few times
  23. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 2, 2013 -> 09:37 AM) Ummmmm Nike does not own the University of Oregon!!! Oregon does!!! Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2013 -> 01:35 PM) I thought that was 100% predictable the way the Sox ran him out there every day at 3rd base. I'm pretty sure that's why I was strongly opposed to giving up anything of value for Youkilis before they made the trade for him without giving up anything of value. Playing him at 3rd every day was killing him in Boston and it killed him in Chicago. Ideally he ought to have been playing 2 of every 3 days or something like that, but the backup options the Sox had available were pathetic, so I get why he was out there every dya. I dont think it mattered. I think his back was shot all year last year, which is why his time as a yankee was fleeting.
  25. Youkilis was pretty terrible after a good start.
