  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 6, 2013 -> 08:07 PM) If by largely the same you mean the Big 3, Chalmers, and Miller. Otherwise it's completely different. And Haslem, who I believe started tonite. So the same 5 starters. The results are the exact same, you can disagree all you want but you are wrong Edit: and Joel Anthony is still on the roster. So 7 players from that team remain. That is largely the same
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 6, 2013 -> 08:00 PM) Anytime someone brings up the 2011 Playoffs, that argument doesn't work. They are two different teams now. Different players are injured. Players have worsened and improved. This heat team is largely the same, and boozer is boozer. I'm not comparing team vs team, I'm comparing a player vs a team
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 6, 2013 -> 07:50 PM) The thing is he's been great against them this year. This is the playoffs. He didnt fare so well against them last time in the playoffs either. They bottle him up
  4. Boozer is terrible against the Heat, they just take him out of his game
  5. Marco was just making a Spicy Meatball gesture. NBD
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ May 6, 2013 -> 03:34 PM) Also, I was impressed by the minutes Teague gave us past few games. He is such a raw product, but I think we'll see a big improvement with another offseason under Thibs. Could you imagine if he had a Butler type improvement?
  7. this gamethread is completely incomprehensible. I thought we lost for 2 pages, and the gametracker just didnt update

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 6, 2013 -> 01:33 PM) Joffrey isn't gay if that's what you had in mind. Joffrey just likes hurting/killing people more than sex with whores. Also, Margaery and her mother are fully aware of this, hence Margaery playing perfectly into Joffrey's desires, and you'll see in the future what the Tyrells think of Joffrey. It was just a funny observation really. I havent read the books on purpose, but I am about to start reading them when the season is over. Now I cant wait to see what the Tyrells do
  9. well if the Pack had taken him then of course the Bears would have f***ed up by not picking him

So.....does Joffrey like women? Because everytime he gets hot women in his room, he just tortures or kills them. I think Marjaery should consider this
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 6, 2013 -> 12:15 PM) Not exactly. I wouldn't have to bring up attendance if the two organizations were actually equal. The fact of the matter is we've typically had to spend 25-35% more money to compete with them, with the exception of 2005. They won six division titles in nine years spending half of what were spending during that time...now, with the Mauer deal, it's closer to 75-85%. We're not close to being efficient like they were from 2002-2006. Williams won two divisions (one World Series) in 12 years on the job. I'll even give you 3/13 if you want to count 2000 in KW's column and not Schueler's. Just staying even means death for the Sox. While we've been treading water, they've added Sano, Buxton, Hicks and a slew of upper echelon prospects to replenish their system. They've taken their lumps for 2 years and are still having pitching issues (and will continue to have them), but they're a lot closer to turning the corner and being competitive than we are looking at the immediate/short-term future of 2014 or 2015. Prospects are only prospects until they produce. All you do is talk this up and it really means nothing at this point, the Twins are still a team that was basically blown up after being terrible last season, and need a lot of things to break the right way in order to get to .500 this season. As always, the grass is always greener
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 6, 2013 -> 11:53 AM) You have to be joking. Or trolling. Gillaspie was acquired during ST in exchange for a lottery ticket A-ball pitcher, and has been one of the best hitters in the lineup. Seriously with this? a .320 hitter isnt good enough for greg. He needs to have at least 30 RBIs by now. Although that would require the hitters before him getting on base......
  13. I just found out there is finally going to be a sequel to the awesome Gamecube game Eternal Darkness, called Shadow of the Eternals. Very excited for that, it has been a while since I saw the Sanity meter on my TV
  14. The Bulls arent gonna win this series, but I know the Heat werent happy to find out they were going to be playing the Bulls as opposed to the Nets. There will be a lot of post game ice baths for both sides
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 6, 2013 -> 07:42 AM) I'll take "Threads where you can tell who started it just by the title" for $800, Alex. It's like if a thread appeared talking about the geology showing up in a star trek movie. LOL
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ May 5, 2013 -> 03:09 PM) NY writer? Actually Miami. Rumor is it was Lebatard
  17. What we learned today is SS2K5 shouldn't bother watching games
  18. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ May 3, 2013 -> 03:12 PM) There's no way that the woman in red is that little kid's sister. Also, my monitor kind of smells like a beach at low tide now. the guy on the broadcast said she was and the kid seemed to acknowledge it
  19. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 4, 2013 -> 07:31 AM) I am concerned they are going to screw up Godzilla on his 60th anniversary. The script has been in so many hands and it sounds like they are going to revision his origin to tie into climate change rather than atomic weapons. I am sure it will be better than the 1998 Sony turd, but I still don't have a great feeling about this one. I loved Gareth Edwards "Monsters", and from what I read his sizzle reel at comicon last year blew people away. I havent heard that the script has changed too many hands, but it seems like nowadays that is old hat. The funny thing is, the Japanese have done so many silly things with Godzilla's story and we consider that ok. We hear a US director is gonna change some things, and we freak out. One consistent thing I have read is that Edwards wants Godzilla to be terrible event that people react to, and really have no answer for. I like that.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2013 -> 01:46 PM) It's weird to think going back to one year ago today that 2 guys named Quintana and Santiago would be our "good stuff" lefties and John Danks would be a 4/5 type who's closer to "early career" Mark Buehrle than he is to good Johan Santana. We always used to compare Danks to guys like Sabathia, Lester, Romero...oh, for those days, for both Ricky Romero and John. Whaaaaa????? Who compared Danks to Sabathia and Lester? That's ridiculous
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 3, 2013 -> 12:50 PM) RIght now the Cubs are 20th in road attendance. I um, don't want to say where the White Sox are. when the cubs are competitive, the fans show, just like pretty much all Chicago teams. Say what you want about all Chicago fans and being meatheaded, if there is a winner on the field the fans are normally there. The Sox fans are a bit more stubborn than the rest, but we have seen what the cell looks like when the playoffs start. When the Cubs had their run with Piniella, they were probably right at the top in road attendance. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2013 -> 01:03 PM) Yankees fans are Yankees fans, not fans of Yankee Stadium II. They also have those 27 titles to back them up. And Cubs fans are cubs fans, that's exactly what I am saying. Like i said, they may lose some of the casual wrigley fans, but the team isn't going to fold up because they aren't playing in that s***hole anymore
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 3, 2013 -> 12:10 PM) I don't even think that would be anywhere near enough. There is no way he would replicate what he has in any suburb. Busloads from Iowa aren't going to Rosemont. If the Cubs moved, they would become just another team. Cubs fans are cubs fans. People didnt stop going to see the Yankees because they built a new stadium. If Ricketts built an awesome new stadium with tons of amenities, and Theo's plan came to fruition, the fans would come. They may lose a lot of casual wrigley fans, but lets not pretend like the cubs fans aren't one of the best traveling fanbases in baseball. They practically sell out Miller Park and chase field by themselves. Those fans aren't going to see the field, they are going to see the team.
  23. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 3, 2013 -> 12:11 PM) Some people don't read. In the NFC Championship game thread I was ranting against Cutler and have admitted it. Part of it was that I was pretty drunk abd pissed that even before Jay got hurt, he was putting up a garbage performance and looking shook. I took back what I said later that night and especially the day after. Cutler was legitemately hurt. I've apologized for my meatheadedness and won't do that again. You guys come off as meatheads because Rose is either a coward or a lazy POS. I don't believe that to be the case. He's being overly cautious because it's his career we're talking about. And to say this could be his legacy is downright silly. People will forget this when he gets back to his old form (fingers crossed). Not to long ago LeBron was thought as being mentally weak and unclutch, lol. Lebron kept on going until he overcame that hurdle. Not a good comparison.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 2, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) Looks awesome and it has Jax AND Clay in it. Sold. Really looking forward to this and Godzilla next year, I am glad that the Kaiju/gigantic monster movie is making a small comeback. I think Cloverfield and Monsters had a nice little hand in that
