  1. Carl Hall isn't doing so shabby for WSU either
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 2, 2013 -> 09:58 AM) Why are people still paying attention to the dollar amount instead of the guaranteed money and actual cap hit? Because everyone is dumber than you balta
  3. he definitely isnt worth the cheddar he is about to be making. But hey, who am i to argue, it isnt my team.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 2, 2013 -> 08:53 AM) Rahim Moore deserves some of that money, if he doesn't make that bonehead play, Flacco is still just another s***ty QB. Im not arguing that Flacco is an amazing superstar worth that kind of money, but his playoff run was pretty awesome. He threw for 3 TDs and 331 yards with a 116.2 PR in that game, even without that throw, he still had a pretty good game. Plus, he didnt have one turnover in the entire playoffs.
  5. How did Toews even make that pass, wtf.
  6. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 12:57 AM) The terrorists have won. I saw it on the news last night, it was pretty funny
  7. I did a quick search of Rays fansites, and none of them have had activity since 2009. It seems like the MLB.com forum would be your best bet
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 01:47 PM) Lower ceiling, higher floor. I cannot stand up in this room
  9. I can agree with that.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 01:43 PM) So how many members does that forum have? 2? 3? Look and see
  11. QUOTE (The Baconator @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 01:46 PM) Awesome, thanks! NP
  12. QUOTE (The Baconator @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 01:38 PM) Does anyone have a list of other team sites like Soxtalk? I'm specifically looking for a good one for the Rays, thanks. All of the hardcore Rays fans use this website Rays Fan Forum
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 01:28 PM) Ive gotten tagged by the plane on 55 but not 57. Its shocking when it happens. I was just driving along and there was 3 cops on the side of the road and one pointed to me and then to the side of the road.
  14. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 01:19 PM) Bernstein has been in love with himself for however long he's been on, I wouldn't limit it to 4 years. They don't do it in a second. But you can usually tell pretty early if the guy has a dumb opinion, once he's given it, they counter it. There aren't many times where I say "that guy was right/had a good point, they really should have heard him out." I think they limit those callers to people they know. I think we all know they have their little group of friends, Tim Baffoe(10 foot midget), Government Fromage, black physicist, and others that will call in and disagree and they accept it. Regular Joes, they rarely give a chance to get the argument off the ground before Dan is crushing them.
  15. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 12:58 PM) Right. Hey I actually like B&B, I listen to them every day. But to act like they give any call-in dissenting opinion a chance is completely disengenuous. Bernstein fell in love with himself over the past 4 years. He talks over people who disagree with him and bullies callers, and when he really doesnt agree with them, he screams at them. And IIRC athomeboy used to intern there and did call screening for them, and was basically told to put the idiots on so that they could blow them up.
  16. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 12:16 PM) It's absolutely hilarious. B and B don't pile on simply for disagreeing, the problem is 95% come with nothing to back up their point, or are just flat out wrong about the topic at hand. There are some very great listeners/emailers, but most of the callers (or at least who they let on the show) are idiots. Total bulls***. You can tell in the first second of a call if Bernstein will even allow any sort of discussion.
  17. I dont think ESPN could just take Abbattacola and Goff from CBS like that.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 11:44 AM) But then Mike from Milwaukee calls and all is forgiven. Some of the people that call and they just outright laugh at, its just sad. The thing that bothers me is they are better than that, and have been in the past.
  19. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 10:49 AM) I was one of the people that use to listen to B&B religiously, but I honestly don't understand how they are still doing so well. To me, they use to be very intelligent and give a lot of sports knowledge. It seemed like every once in a while they'd insult a dumb caller. Now it seems like that's their thing. If someone calls in and doesn't echo their opinion, they just turn to insulting the caller. The caller could have a great thought, but it doesn't fall in line with the host, so they just attack. Yet if they have a guest with these same "dumb" thoughts, they usually don't say a thing. Their Who You Crappin and Friday Fun, and what else are entertaining, but I stopped listening to them for actual sports talk. I have to assume a lot of their listeners just like hearing people be attacked. I know a buddy who loves B&B listens because of that. I've turned to CJH because they seem to be the opposite of the above. They might not have as much sports knowledge, but I don't have to listen to them rip callers constantly. i agree with those of you that said Holmes would be good on ESPN. I think he is what I use to like in B&B. Him and Carmen would be good. Because the competition is CJH. By default, you have to listen to B and B. And yea, at some point they decided to run with "We are smarter than all of you, and if you do not agree then you are to be insulted repeatedly."
  20. Hamp and Holmes was doomed from the get go.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 09:19 AM) Long overdue. exactly what I told my buddy. He was terrible. So, ESPN has to make a move to try and get this slot again, but IMO going syndicated would probably be the worst possible thing. I would boot Jurko, and bring Silvy and Waddle in to reunite with Carmen and let those guys go. It has to be a local flavor and Waddle and Silvy have been doing well for themselves
  22. Harry Teinowitz fired from ESPN after Carmen Jurko and Harry came in 10th in arbitron ratings(conversely, Boers and Bernstein came in first). Big shakeup coming at ESPN radio one would think
  23. QUOTE (southside_hitman @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 05:41 AM) I am not stretching anything, bud. I do not respond to every comment by every anonymous poster, especially if they lack substance, do not appear to be from a genuine Sox fan or are otherwise rude or mean spirited. The fact is that Flowers has hit for a low average and that has not only been during September call-ups. Of course, teams that are out of the Division race call up minor league pitching so what information would a .200 average against that level of pitching tell you? You come off like I am the only Sox fan that is concerned that Flowers may not be able to cut down on his strike-outs, make contact and hit for a decent average given what we have seen from him over time. Or you like to pick straw man arguments with some anonymous "dude." Sorry, I'm not biting. Carry on. Flowers splits Your argument is the very definition of stretching it and straw man, "dude". You are telling us that his 273(almost 150 less than you previously stated) major league at bats define him because it happened over 4 seasons, and at the same time telling us that those numbers matter because as a september call up he was only facing other september call ups. Give me a break. Look, you want to say "I dont feel Flowers has a good chance at the major league level because his contact rate has never been that good", fine. Whatever. But dont float these bogus facts at us and then tell us that we are stupid because we dont buy into them and tell you that it is wrong.
  24. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 07:33 PM) Anyone else just notice that RVD was making an apple bowl in the locker room? The smoking device, not a healthy snack. Don't pretend to be surprised
  25. Crawford replaced by Emery, no word why yet
