  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 08:33 AM) I assume the Eagles are cutting Michael Vick? If not, Lovie could quick-fix that defense and they could easily be solid next year. Foles could be his new Rex
  2. QUOTE (Joxer_Daly @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 06:28 AM) Now, I can't stop thinking about extra fresh squid fried quickly, doused in lemon juice and lightly salted. Thanks. Thanks a lot. Jesus, I'm starving!!!! Thirty two minutes 'til lunch. At least your lunch calamari cant kill you
  3. http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/09/world/asia/j...quid/index.html Finally one videotaped, at depths between 2000 and 3000 feet. Pretty amazing stuff, it is hard to wrap my head around the fact that this creature is about 10 feet long.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 10:19 AM) The Rock needs to stay away from the ball jokes and stick to being semi serious. Obviously comedy is part of his thing but he's better than the crap he's come with against Cena and now Punk. Punk was absolutely epic last night. I'm willing to give rock a pass due to a little bit of ring mic rust.
  5. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 12:48 PM) I don't agree with this at all. 16 teams would basically mean any major conference team with two losses or fewer gets in (Depending on eligibility rules of course. The SEC would demand no limit while everyone else would want a maximum). So many of the games that mattered this year would become meaningless because teams were already solidly in the field. Alabama and Georgia both make it, Oregon and K-State are both in even with a loss, the ND/Pitt game wouldn't have had nearly as dire consequences, ect. The only games that would REALLY impact the playoffs would be championship games in single-bid conferences. That's why I really don't want it getting bigger than 8 teams. You still have to have a pretty solid year to make the top-8, if you go much further than that you start getting teams that had disappointing seasons by their standards like LSU and FSU in the field when they didn't do a whole lot to really earn it. Thats fine, I enjoy tournament conditions and I see this as a good thing where some more teams are involved. In all of the major sports we watch, the regular seasons matter, whether it is for merely getting into the playoffs at all or for getting seeded into a favorable matchup. These Upper level teams, the Alabamas, Georgias, Oregons are going to want to make sure they have a matchup that is best for them, or even a bye week. Whatever comes in the playoff format will be more appealing to me than the current system, so I am happy either way.
  6. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 12:02 PM) This is my biggest fear for college football, and the reason I am anti playoffs. I see this quickly expanding past 8 teams. The larger the playoff pool, the less the regular season games mean. I love that every game is critical to the success of your season, and if there's an 8, or 16 team playoff, that doesn't matter nearly as much. I think the larger the playoff pool, the more important the regular season is. The jockeying for playoff position will be huge, one small mistep during the year and you could be relegated to a "meaningless" one bowl game. Meaningless is relative of course.
  7. Come on shack, call up house hunters and have them tour you around Vegas looking for a MCM home.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 11:45 AM) Until the #5 team b****es & b****es that they got screwed over by not getting invited to the party. I have a feeling that once the playoff starts, and they see the interest level and money rolling in, they will be leaping over each other to get a larger playoff in place.
  9. Rock and Punk had an epic close out to the show last night, especially Punk.
  10. Bigg is tweeting that he thinks the Singletary interview is a favor to the McCaskey family. Lets hope that is the case, because he was a mildly insane head coach.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 10:47 AM) I don't think this is really a fair comparison...Cutler was playing, then suddenly he was not. He was sort of standing around on the sideline pouting. The injury was really not noticed at the time it occurred, so no one knew what was going on. We didn't really see him attempt to play on it and realize he was unable to. RGIII, on the other hand, clearly was deteriorating very quickly. He went from limited but still capable, to almost useless right before everyone's eyes. Everyone could tell that he was ineffective because of the injury. Everyone but Mike Shanahan, apparently. Hurt, not injured
  12. QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 09:34 AM) is it true that the Bears interviewed Will Muschamp on Friday? First i heard that
  13. Knightsec and Anonymous getting involved and flipping this thing on its head is just crazy
  14. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 09:22 AM) I had no problem with it. Did anyone see these Tweets from Cameron Worrell?? Prior to the game- @KillaCamWorrell: Dear Jay Cutler, this is how you play in the playoffs through a knee injury. Signed, RG3. After the injury- @KillaCamWorrell: RG3's play has certainly declined since I gave him props for playin hurt. But.... @KillaCamWorrell: I've torn my meniscus in the 1st quarter and finished the game. Dislocated my shoulder twice and finished the game... @KillaCamWorrell: Totally separated my AC joint and broke a piece of my collarbone off and played six more games. All needed surgery. ‏@KillaCamWorrell: That's why I tweeted about Cutler not finishing. Only thing that forced me to not finish a game was a torn ACL and a torn ankle ligament The same killah cam worrell that has been out of the league since 08?
  15. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 09:05 AM) What did Bears fans think when Cutler sat out in the playoff game, when he was injured? A lot of 49ers fans are torn, if Justin Smith should play this weekend Sore subject
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 08:02 AM) The drive the Redskins should have pulled him at was the one where he limped to the sidelines for an 8 yard scamper. Healthy he'd have turned that upfield for maybe 20 yards, maybe more. He followed that by a couple of poorly placed throws, IIRC, one of which went well over the receiver's head, which made me really start thinking he couldn't plant with the foot to throw accurately either. I mean, this guy threw for a 65% completion in the regular season and 52% yesterday. He couldn't help them by running and he couldn't throw the ball accurately. I have no issue with them starting him, but by that point, mid-3rd quarter, you have to say "The Seahawks are coming back in this game and no matter whether or not he got me here, I need someone who gives me a chance at points today". It's a ballsy move to take him out when he can still walk, I'll grant, but it was the move that gave the Skins the best chance to win. Yea it was plainly obvious that RGIII was not right, and as Cousins showed in the season that he was a capable backup.
  17. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 07:33 AM) Wasn't the previous injury to the LCL? That's what I thought I heard. This injury is to the MCL or ACL. This video really shows how well braces work. If it's the MCL there will likely be no surgery as they only do those for last resort because they are difficult and don't do well. If it's the ACL....well those happen. Not very well? He blew out his ACL once in college, and was very vague in his postgame comments on whether he thought he did it again.
  18. The gif of RGIII's knee...... If there isnt damage in there that requires surgery I will be amazed.
  19. my thumb is developing a callous from playing too much Baseball Superstars 2012 on my phone. I hope 2013 is released for Iphone soon, my buddy has been playing it on Android and he says it is much better
  20. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 06:23 AM) Maybe in a highly watered down fashon there are some similarities. The humor here is a blend of a few others, with a touch of its very own. Either way if you're into a fun ride drenched in surrealism this would rank rather high up there I would think. It should be noted this film is not gonna before everyone. Kalapse you have my approval, I say give it a go if you have not yet, this is right up your alley. I am definitely going to check this out whenever it is available on demand. Bubba Ho Tep and Beastmaster are both movies I enjoyed, Phantasm not as much.
  21. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 04:49 AM) This does not have a real Troma feel to it. I like Kaufman, but his films are hardly as smart of a film as John Dies At The End. I have seen it already as I a fan of Don Coscarelli's work. He is the youngest person ever to have a feature length film distributed by a major studio at only 19 teams of age. Some may know his work such as Phantasm, Bubba Ho-Tep, or The Beastmaster. I thought the humor in it seemed like it had a Troma feel to it.
  22. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 6, 2013 -> 09:13 PM) The 49ers stood on the east coast inbetween games several times this past year Clearly the 49ers are the standard and should be used as every teams goal
  23. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 6, 2013 -> 09:06 PM) Shouldn't the Seahawks stay on the east coast instead of flying close to 5,000 miles this week? I would imagine everything they have for practices is in Seattle.
  24. NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT SAFE FOR WORK Fans of Troma might like this
  25. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 6, 2013 -> 08:37 PM) He's wrong that it was a freak injury. You had a fatigued player who tried to make a jump cut and his tired muscles couldn't keep him on balance. The ACL tore because he fell awkwardly. I thought the acl tore when he made the jump, which is why he freaked midair and got rid of the ball right away
