Another White Sox / Blue Jays trade on the horizon?
Kyyle23 replied to striker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 07:09 PM) The antithesis of the Javy/Chris Young deal. We built up a pitching surplus in 2005/06...and we did leverage it to get Danks. B. Anderson and Swisher have good careers with the White Sox, probably no need to get Alex Rios and Adam Dunn...certainly not Rios, and Swisher could have DH'ed too. And we dealt the legit CF prospect in Young because there was too much confidence (including BA himself) in Anderson's ability to be Torii Hunter-Lite. Then you have the bad move of letting Thome go in 2010. Just little things like that blew up...and Teahen's extension, limiting our return for Edwin Jackson. Overall, the only trade that really really rankles is giving up Daniel Hudson too quickly, but I'll just assume that Ozzie/Cooper had some issues with Daniel behind the scenes that we didn't know about....3 starts, c'mon! I think the Javy/Young deal legitimately scarred you. Everytime a trade happens or is rumored you reference that trade. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) Marlins are trying to win; Sox are .... Bring back the good ol days, baby. The least surprising post in this thread

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 01:26 PM) Why would you trade him otherwise? Incredibly friendly contract, put up spectacular numbers last year, just wore out towards the end, under team control for 4+ years. That doesnt mean he is worth what the Indians paid for Ubaldo. Ubaldo was coming off a cy young-esque season. Humber played 3/4 of a season. Not even close to the same thing -

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 11:35 AM) I've a feeling Drabek will be a lot better next season.. Floyd to Toronto for Drabek & McGuire, would be a great deal for the Sox. Yes it would. And not good for the Blue Jays. Pie. In. The. Sky. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 11:36 AM) Which is why I believe it won't happen. That's not AA's style. If it does, it goes in your Sig. KW is fully endorsed by Jordan4Life -

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 11:28 AM) I can only imagine that Warrior would destroy Nash. The last I saw of him, he still kept himself in shape. Kevin Nash, being an aging and lanky (which is no longer to his advantage with his injuries) old man, would likely get dismantled by an aging, in-shape, mobile man. Im not saying Nash would win, but he was in great shape at TLC last month. He is really lean. Im sure Warrior would eat his face and then cry out to the Sun god

So if the Sox trade their major league talent for the blue jays minor league talent, does that mean that J4L will have to say that AA is an idiot and KW is a genius -
we have some twitter beef going on between ultimate warrior(@ultimatewarrior) and kevin nash(@realkevinnash) right now, pretty funny stuff. Nash is challenging Warrior to a MMA shoot fight for 100K because warrior keeps talking smack about Nash and his friends. And if there is one thing we know, Nash and Warrior is an epic match in the making /green

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 11:37 PM) Also, Row. Anthony Booker was 3-3 from behind the arc tonight. I know, when you read this, you'll say f***. Nah, it doesnt surprise me. That was part of what frustrated us, he didnt want to play down low, he was always shooting low percentage shots. Of course, Lowery had no idea what to do with him so naturally he ran him off -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 5, 2012 -> 08:19 AM) Jordan was also about 3-4 inches taller than Rose. He said that

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 01:29 PM) Do you think that maybe Knox's weak points would be less exposed in a system that does not require such precise deep crossing routes? I know Johnny has his faults, but as a receiver, I still think he is somewhat valuable. When Martz came on board, I was under the impression that his offense would make use of Knox's abilities more than Turner did. Either The Score/Hub was wrong, or Knox is bad. After watching him half ass it multiple times this season, and seeing how he hasnt made any strides in his time as a Bear(and actually regressed this season), my opinion is that he is bad. Im done with him. It would be such a bears move to keep a wide reciever that just broke his back and hope that he is able to be back 100 percent though, so i wont be surprised if he is brought back. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 12:43 PM) Call it whatever role you want, the guy had a roster spot, he was listed as a WR, and the Bears need 2. Edit: Unless Knox is 100% ready to go. Forget this. Knox is garbage. He doesnt run routes correctly, he never finishes routes, he doesnt fight for the ball. I am done with the Knox experiment. I wish him well in his health. I wish him away from the Bears. Bobby Wade part 2 -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 08:28 AM) Obviously last night's game showed that the Bulls need Rip Hamilton if they want to not look like the team that lost in 5 to the Heat last year. Kyle Korver had me reliving that nightmare with his missing of wide open f***ing 3's (seriously, if you can't hit those, be the f*** gone, man). Ronnie Brewer's brief streak from deep was long gone as he was shooting worse from deep than I do in my Thursday night league. Rip isn't the perfect answer, but at least he's not afraid to step up in the big game with a big shot. As some posters already stated, just let the man rest and be 100% in a week or so, even if these games in a shortened schedule are crucial. I wish like hell Joakim Noah were right, but something is still very, very off with him. He's a shell of the player we saw in the first half last year. Suffice to say, this team is going to once again lean extremely hard on Derrick Rose all season long. I do not believe this nonsense

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 10:42 AM) I understand you guys pointing out some of the inefficiencies in our offense under Martz, however, IMHO, we were making some major strides this year before the injury. I don't know for instance, that while someone else might have made better use of Cutler, that Martz didn't make the best use of the entire offensive personnel he had available to him. I'd love to have Olsen back, but other than that, I think he got the best use out of Forte and Knox and possibly even Roy Williams than might have otherwise been the case under another coordinator. At the same time though, everytime the offense made strides with Martz the past 2 years, it was after catastrophic games where Cutler was absolutely murdered and Martz was forced to scale back the offense and ditch his 7 and 5 step drops. Martz is a great offensive mind that gets in his own way sometimes. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 09:27 AM) Is that why he put the plays in so late? yep, he needed time to survey the defense. And since he wasnt on the field, he had to relay it to SHane Day who relayed it to Cutler. And of course, if it was a disguised defense and Cutler saw through it and knew it was going to be a busted play, there was very very little he could do about it. -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 08:52 AM) You would be going on what he did in Buffalo, Carolina and Indy(just not the last 3 years). I would tell him to leave his kid at home. If it was simply a case of telling him to leave his kid at home I think he would still be employed by the Colts. Seems like they are a package deal. -

I just don't see why the Polians are so attractive. Basically the exact same thing happened to the Colts that happened to the Bears. They lost their star QB and an astonishing lack of depth was exposed on an aging defense and offense. So, why the Polians? -
Tex, I believe you found concrete that broke off the road.
