WTF are we waiting for ? Call up Viciedo !
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 09:24 AM) I have no urge even to see the good Rios leading off. Alexei Ramirez has a .360+ OBP on this season and if he's leading off that cuts the chances of him GIDP which has been his worst sin so far. Alexei's playing like a leadoff hitter. I have no urge to even see Alexei at the top of the lineup. Alexei needs to bat 6th or lower, there is no stat that can convince me otherwise. He doesnt need to do anything but think about hitting, he doesnt need Ozzie telling him to draw walks and try and lay down bunts

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 09:21 AM) When I look at that 2001 or so Bulls Roster, I'm constantly surprised at how many guys from it actually made something of themselves. Brand Artest Crawford Hoiberg Miller Crawford and Artest took a while to make anything of themselves, they were just 18-19 year old kids. Brand has always been solid, not spectacular. Miller was already known to be a pretty tough inside presence

WTF are we waiting for ? Call up Viciedo !
I hate to say it, but I think Rios is the solution to Viciedo coming up. If Rios continues his resurgence, I would lead him off and bring up Viciedo to play OF. Rios has done it before in Toronto, he is capable. The only question is whether Rios figured it out or if he is just having a lucid moment in a season of insanity

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 09:17 AM) I could take the easy out here and just reply to that with "Tim Floyd." In fact, that's what I'm doing for now. You are going to blame Floyd? LMAO The only easy out you could say is "Krause", and that leads us back to Otis Smith needing to maximize the talent he gets back from trading howard

2011 Films Thread
QUOTE (OilCan @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) Has anyone been following the prequel to Alien, the movie called "Prometheus"? http://www.celebrityviplounge.com/charlize...-alien-prequel/ I am extremely excited about this, the aliens are supposed to have a unique look, and the Space Jockeys are supposed to be just awesome looking. Ridley Scott FTW QUOTE (The Baconator @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) Um, now I'm excited. I hadn't heard about this before but this definitely sounds like something I can get behind. Having said that, I am a bit hesitant because that was such a good series in its original form, kind of lost its track with the AVP stuff (AVP:R was an abortion for a film). I hope they get back to the original intent of the story without getting ridiculous like they have in the recent iterations. This IS the origin story, this movie is supposed to be the prequel that lets you in on the reason why the ship crashed that Ripley was sent to investigate.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 09:07 AM) This is an extremely misleading picture. Lebron hugged Kidd, talked to him, then patted him on the chest and said congrats as he was walking away. I know what it looks like, but that is wrong

If the Chicago White Sox won a game and no one made a thread
QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 04:25 PM) Always great to get a win when the Indians and Tigers lose! Can't wait to get to .500! I just wish it would have been yesterday as well as today that this happened. Should have been a sweep, but I will take 3 of 4

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 04:03 PM) I believe last year mods warned us to stop making fun of Delonte f***ing LBJ's mom... how long do we get to make fun of Rashard banging LBJ's girlfriend? Rashard had such difficulty finishing this year that he probably rocked her world all night long. Really? I dont remember that

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 03:10 PM) So rumor is Rashard Lewis was banging Lebron's girlfriend? will this be the "Delonte West banging Lebrons mom" of the 2011 playoffs?

Jimmy Johns - $1 subs - Chicago - today only.
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) Don Taco, I forgot you're old. Ya, well in general what I said was the consensus about Wise Guys. I had it a billion times when I was drunk, tried it once when I was sober and no thank you. El Greco Gyros were a pretty awesome backup plan for nights when the lines were too long. Although it took FOREVER

Rowand, I hated Wise Guys while drunk and sober. But then again, i got Quatros for free whenever I wanted it, so it didnt matter

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 02:50 PM) See, I like JJ's when I'm sober, it was never really my drunk food of choice. Give me Pizza or Nachos(the SIU folks know what I'm talking about here) for that. Don Taco or LaBambas? Many a night a burrito as big as my head fended off hangovers and put me to bed. Don Taco showed up the year before I left, but I took advantage of their cheap menu plenty of times

It is still so odd to me that McHale is coaching. I really thought he was against it and only did it for the Twolves because he was basically forced to.

A's fire manager!
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:35 AM) They added Matsui, Willingham, DeJesus, Balfour and Fuentes. They had the best ERA in the AL last year, IIRC. They were looked at as a sleeper by most everybody. Yeah, but that best ERA got them an 81-81 record, and Matsui has been on the decline for a few years now. Plus, pitching has never been an issue with them, it has been an offensively challenged bunch for a while. Willingham and Matsui werent going to come in and light the world on fire, and they certainly werent going to challenge the Rangers for the best offense in the division. Billy ball has failed for another year, and another manager bites the dust because of it

A's fire manager!
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:22 AM) Wait a minute...You mean a manager was held accountable for the poor performance of a team that was expected to contend? The A's were expected to contend? Really? with the reigning AL champions and the Angels in their division, I really expected them to be right where they are. And when you look at their SP injuries, its really not in the cards for the A's this year, or any year in the near future if you ask me. whats the point of firing managers in Oakland? They are all going to be given bargain bin teams with decent to good pitching that will never stay past arbitration. Until a real owner steps up and invests in the team, you might as well keep the same manager around

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:41 AM) My issue with the NBA has little to do with LeBron. He's not a good guy at all, but whatever. My only problem with him is that for all of his gifts, he still underachieves (which shows how great his gifts are, he's still the best player in the world) and tends to have moments where the moment feels too big for him (like game 4). But that's not a problem with the league, it's more an issue where I think LeBron could be greater. I stand by the fact that the hateable figure on that team, clearly, is Dwyane Wade. Even though nobody agrees with me. My NBA issues are with the fradulent officiating, apparent lack of transparency, the fact that the first 3 quarters of about 90 percent of game are completely meaningless, the entire system of the league (the joke of a "salary cap", complete lack of control that teams have, etc) is set up poorly, and so on. I'm hoping that through the long lockout we'll have next season, some aspects of the league will be fixed. But that will be a challenge. Ummm why do you think nobody agrees with you? There is a lot of hatred towards Wade for his little undercover operation he pulled on the Bulls last offseason. It was a total b**** move
