  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 01:42 PM) Did you start twirling a gold chain too? lol, no gold chain. that was actually a direct reference to what jimh thinks of me. he thinks of my as a backwards hat wearing punk because, you know, a 33 year old father of two is totally like that. thats ok though, i think of him as a younger version of Carl from the movie Up, so we are even.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 01:37 PM) Well, Ozzie is showing supreme faith in a guy (Pierre) that has a proven pedigree and you have to admire that about him. Ozzie always sticks by his vets and that's a decent trait to have. ha ha slow clap
  3. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 01:32 PM) LOL. He'd be the first to be suspended under these new guidelines. Well, he'd first have to return from his current suspension; but then SSI would post and he'd lose his mind again. /turns hat backwards and starts assuming punk posture because i know JimH is reading this JimH got banned with very little guidelines. He doesnt play well with others. /turns hat forward and resumes normal person posture
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 11:45 AM) what's the closest we've been in the last 2 months? Seems like 2-3 games under and then bam, down to 5 under. Not sure how the Nats are going to respond to riggleman, but lets hope it throws them for a loop because they've been sizzling. I think 2 has been the closest. Lets hope the streak of 17 straight interleague series wins also continues
  5. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:44 AM) We need catch-alls for them, maybe a safe zone for hyperbolic ranting on KW, Ozzie, Dunn, Rios, Pierre, Peavy etc. Somewhere to blow off steam that keeps it out of discussion threads. filibuster rules just dont work within PHT
  6. Zimmerman has been pretty tough so far, Edwin will have to be on his game.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 04:31 PM) YES! That's him. He had like 5,000 post in 4 months. And didn't he have a second name after that? That dude was hilarious. SSH2K5 or something like that
  8. He was a walking deadman anyways and he knew it. He probably figures what is the point if they arent planning on keeping me anyways
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 08:44 AM) The above .500 teams haven't been the problem this year. Its been the bad teams that have killed us. I think if we were .500 against the under par teams, we'd be in first place right now. I dont dispute that, I am just disagreeing that it is "too bad" that the Sox are playing some of the better teams
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) It's too bad the Sox IL schedule this year has been tough. Washington is .500, Arizona is solid, Colorado is tough, and the Dodgers, well yeah they suck but they just took 2/3 from Detroit. why is it too bad? you want your team to be successful against teams that are better than .500, this is a good test. And already the Sox have taken 2 of 3 from the dodgers(should have swept if not for a 9th inning meltdown) and 2 of 3 from the Dbacks.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 12:36 PM) I'm one of the biggest Pixar fans out there, but I dislike them going the sequel route in general. And that goes for the Toy Story franchise as well regardless of how good the last installment of that series was. I understand that it's a business and it would be irresponsible for a corporation not to take full advantage of a proven moneymaking franchise, but i wish Pixar could have resisted the lure of the sequel and easy money. The exception for me would be an Incredibles sequel (If Brad Bird agreed to helm it). There is no way that movie wouldn't kick ass. While not among my favorites I actually very much liked the original Cars. i just watched most of it last night with my son during the Sox rain delay. The Incredibles has a bunch of sequels, didnt you know? Its called "No Ordinary Family" and it is on ABC

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 09:53 AM) So it looks like Pixar's run of perfection will end with Cars 2. If it had to happen I'm happy it ended with a movie that I don't care at all about and not one of their original movies. I didnt care about or care for the first movie, but it still made bank at the box office. I wouldnt count pixar out, there are millions of little kids who love those movies
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 11:12 AM) Lets see if Luol Deng can do it. Deng had calf strains, Bynum has had surgery on both knees. I think Deng has a much better chance of staying healthy
  17. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 08:59 AM) If we only score three runs against Doug "f***ing" Davis... ....then J F***ing P better give up only 2 runs
  18. I need me some Peavy. Not against Detroit Peavy, but rather against Anaheim Peavy
  19. i told you i had this one. bam
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 09:48 PM) When Thibodeau got hired he was primed to be HC and had been ready for a while (maybe wanting him the first time is what's being talked about) and he wanted the job. And had LeBron come to Chicago after Thibs' hiring, well... yeah. then we would be b****ing about Lebron being unclutch in the 4th quarter all season
  21. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 09:47 PM) 105 here in Phoenix. lol
  22. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 08:03 PM) Forgive me for reiterating what was going on at the time. The Bulls (despite King Rose) were not looking very poised or in good shape and they got lucky with Thib who I don't think people expected to be as good as he did. The whole buzz at the time was that they didn't have many options for coaches and no one wanted the job. That's what was being said at the time. Don't blame me. I dont blame you for anything except being wrong. Thats all. It was a very desirable job, the Bulls had money to spend, had Rose and Noah, already raised some eyebrows with even making the playoffs the previous two years. Thibodeau didnt fall into their lap and he isnt viewed as just some guy who turned out to be good as a head coach. Nothing you said was happening around the time Thibs was hired, it was the Del Negro botched negotiations that it sounds like you are talking about
  23. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) Showcasing Pierre to whom? Unemployment? the only organization foolish enough to sign him is the one he's playing for please log out of soxtalk. turn on your sarcasm detector. log in to soxtalk. return to gamethread
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) You seriously preferred Juan swinging? what i prefer is irrelevant, since juan is playing. but yes, i would rather have juan swing there to reinforce to ozzie, kw, and jr that he has no place on this roster, 4 mil or not
