White Sox vs Tampa Bay game thread 4-9-11
Kyyle23 replied to southsider2k5's topic in 2011 Season in Review
cheers to the Chris Sale as closer era! -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 11:44 AM) I said "to", not "into". I just reread that, sorry. But still, it was a catch he should have made, he didnt look the ball into his mitt. It was equally as bad as Teahens drop. The difference is that Teahen is signed for another year

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 11:41 AM) From what I've seen, he dropped a ball while running to the wall (not the easiest of catches, but should have been made), and then he broke in on a ball that ended up going over his mitt to the wall. So by my count, he made 2 mistakes, neither of which were as bad as Teahen's pop fly drop yesterday. Basically, he is still probably better than Quentin in the OF. He was running TOWARDS the wall, not running into the wall. He had plenty of space between him and the wall, I dont think he even was on the track yet

simma down nah, y'all hear? Its Lastings Milledge, this guy couldnt play for the Nationals or Pirates last year either.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 09:10 AM) Any specific reason? lack of a plus secondary pitch. lets face it, if thornton doesnt have his pinpoint location, he gets rocked. fortunately he has had it for the majority of the time, but we have seen what happens when he doesnt. I still dont think that homer Thome hit last season in Minnesota has landed yet. When Thornton has to throw that rolling breaking ball, he is in trouble. Sale on the other hand has a plus fastball and plus slider, and his changeup is pretty good when he can spot it. I also think Sale has that closer mentality "come at you as hard as I can". JMO
-
Im not basing anything on yesterday, but i dont believe Thornton is a closer. I think he is much better as a setup guy

Is it me, or does Nashs wife look like Octo-Mom? http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/...splay_image.jpg Regardless, confirming your wife cheated on you through the birth of a child is just WRONG

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 10:39 AM) I watched Dark City last night. I believe it was on the recommendation of qwerty. It was great and I might have liked it more than Inception. I also saw Bang the Drum Slowly. It was really good, but I enjoyed it less. wow i figured you would have seen that movie already. I also loved it, I saw it in the theatre

did Richmond sign with an agent? -
QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) How am I disillusioned towards the company? QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) I would love to see them build Cena/Rock for a year but this isn't the 80's and I gave full confidence in WWE to blow it. that is how you are disillusioned
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 06:40 AM) You think I would of paid $65 for a show I decided months ago I was gonna hate? LOL, you have been telling us you are done with wrestling for months now. What did you honestly expect last night? It was wrestlemania, things happened that were expected(Taker) and things happened that were unexpected(Supercena lost OMFGZ!!). Plus, Snooki did a triple flip and actually looked like a diva for a match. It was a fun show, I liked it. I seriously doubt much could have happened last night that could have made you think it was a good show with how disillusioned you are with the promotion nowadays, so to hear you call it awful was no surprise to me

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 04:54 AM) You guys must of watched a different show than I did. Punk Orton was way to short. The 8 man was pointless. Should of bumped that and kept us title match on. Main event was dull. They needed a money in the bank match to wake crowd up. Loved the Rock Austin stare down. Hunter Taker was fine. World HW title match first? Weak. Didn't know Snooki was that athletic. I didnt watch a different show, I just didnt decide months ago that I was going to hate the program so I actually enjoyed it. The only match i wish didnt happen was Cole/Lawler, that was quite a snoozefest.

I would never have guessed in my craziest dreams that Snooki could have pulled off that move

cannot complain about that lineup, Omar rolling over the bottom of the lineup is not a bad idea at all -
QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 3, 2011 -> 08:50 AM) I'm shocked the show sucked My firefox 4.0 gives me no such problems.

QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 3, 2011 -> 07:28 AM) Have you all seen these Gordon Beckham training videos? http://stacktv.stack.com/video.aspx?videoID=90594432001_666 Sorry, I misspelled "Training" in the thread title. no worries, fixed

QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 3, 2011 -> 03:52 AM) See man, I don't see it like that.. I don't consider Shawn Michaels jobbing to Undertaker.. those two matches were great.. there should be no shame in putting on a great match in front of about 11-12 TIMES the crowd that shows up to TNA shows.. and its on the grandest stage in professional wrestling.. AND he would have gotten a huge payday.. its something people have been dying to see for ages now.. It makes no sense to me why he would turn that down.. also, back to the previous point about not wanting to job at Wrestlemania, Mr. Wrestlemania himself HBK is 6-11 in Mania matches.. all you need to do is put on a show, that always lasts with people more than win/loss I understand that HBK has lost plenty of Mania matches, but it isnt as if Sting has a whole career ahead of him and many more Mania matches in the future. And lets be honest, HBK is a hell of an entertainer in the ring, when I watch Sting he is pretty much Ric Flair with facepaint and a trenchcoat, immobile and old and says "whooo" a lot. He isnt going to be flying off the ropes or delivering superkicks out of nowhere. I just think that being the next in line for Undertaker would be less than appealing, but i do agree that it would be better than TNA at this point. Sting has always drawn the line in the sand, and I guess he still hasnt seen a good reason to cross it.
-
QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2011 -> 11:59 AM) I just don't get how dealing with TNAs mess could be more inciting than pretty much headlining Wrestlemania.. He could have had a pretty sweet gig right there see, i could understand not wanting to come to theWWE only to job to Taker in your first payperview which is also the biggest wrestling payperview in the business. But to not want to be inducted into the HOF, and cite that "they do business a certain way" as part of the reason why he didnt want to come just boggles my mind, especially after he has sat there and watched Hogan and Bischoff attempt to turn TNA into the Attitude era, and even moreso after the Hardy match. in my perfect world, Sting would be running in and interfering at Mania leading to a long program with undertaker that could go into summerslam. Sting must really despise Vince, because we all know Vince is throwing money at him.
