QUOTE (T R U @ May 16, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) He ran into a Predator because they gave away his position and he finally got caught.. although I agree it felt like he was in the movie for about 3 minutes and I liked his character He gave away his own position when he started the fire and locked them in there(because he was listening to the voice). They didnt show the Predator coming in there until they were screaming and trying to get out

There was a bunch of good movies on the premium channels this weekend. How to Train Your Dragon, Easy A, and Predators all premiered on Saturday, I hadnt seen Predators or Easy A yet. I really liked Predators, it was a very good reminder of how awesome the first Predator movie was. I was kind of pissed at how Laurence Fishburne went out(dude has been there for 10 seasons, and he literally runs right into a Predator? Come on), but I thought the action was awesome and I really liked Brody's mercenary character. Easy A was pretty funny, I enjoyed it. It had a John Hughes feel to it(on purpose)
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 16, 2011 -> 09:02 AM) I thought the sound of the put back made it slightly better. Sounded violent. It WAS violent. That was such a snap reaction, it is amazing to have that kind of reflex.
  5. I have this feeling that Wade is going to come up with an injury that will make him a hero if he has a great series from this point forth, or will give him a convenient excuse if he has a miserable series. When he left in the third quarter and stayed out of the game so long, he looked like he was pretty beat up.

  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 13, 2011 -> 09:17 AM) I never said it was "Anonymous". It certainly was pissed off hackers of some sort, though. No. It certainly was not.
  9. I think the story was that Wimpy confided in Hawk about the abuse, and Hawk couldnt take it and turned on him. I think the hatchet was buried, last season when Wimpy filled in, Hawk had nothing but nice things to say about him. IIRC, Hawk gave a somewhat anonymous apology on air, but I was pretty sure he was speaking about Wimpy.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 13, 2011 -> 06:35 AM) The first two seasons of SOA are now streaming on Netflix so I may get around to checking it out. Wonder if they will have Danny Trejo's decapitated head on the back of a turtle. /breakingbad Brian with the thread FAIL
  11. all joking aside, Rondo running into James Jones last night looked like it seriously hurt and Rondo pretty much lost all aggressiveness at that point. Before that he had that jump shot and a few layups, but from that point forward pretty much the entire Celtics offense stayed at the three point line until there was less than 8 seconds on the clock and whoever ended up with the ball took the shot. The heat were basically playing 4 on 5, I really saw no way Boston could have won that game

  15. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 11, 2011 -> 02:24 PM) Just because they have a bunch of rings doesn't mean they're automatically good players. Fisher has career averages of 8.8/2.1/3.1 while shooting 40% from the field and 37.5% from the arc. Horry averaged 7 PPG for his career and shot 42.5% from the floor (34% from the arc). Shaw had career averages of 7/3.4/4.2 with a FG% of 40 and a 3PT% barely over 30. George shot below 40% from the field for his career and averaged 5.6 PPG in his career. Those guys aren't exactly world beaters. They're all average to below average players that happened to land on the right team with the right guys carrying the load. Yes, they hit some big shots (especially Horry and Fisher), but getting the opportunity to take those huge shots is also a major part of that equation. If those guys spend most of their career on the Clippers instead of the Lakers, no one has any clue who they are. Bosh is better than any #3 scorer that the Lakers had, and the biggest difference between Horry and Fisher and guys like Bibby, Jones, Chalmers and Miller is that they haven't had dozens of opportunities in their career to make an impact on a playoff game. Maybe they hit some key shots, maybe they don't. Obviously you need that to win titles. But a couple of made jumpers at the right times doesn't suddenly turn those guys into stars. I never said they were stars, but I think that they were way ahead of the current Miami bench. And there was a reason that Horry and Fisher stayed on teams like the Lakers and Spurs instead of the Clippers, those teams knew that they were very good role/bench players
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 11, 2011 -> 12:32 PM) Fisher, Horry, Fox, George, Shaw vs Bosh, Bibby, Jones Z and I guess Miller? Are you serious? There is a lot of rings on Fisher, Horry, George and Shaw(and not only from the lakers), and every single one of those guys played big minutes for the Lakers. Phil counted on every single one of those guys. It is unanimous in this thread that the Heats bench is just a bunch of guys
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ May 11, 2011 -> 12:12 PM) I don't think people saw how good Asik was in the 4th. He was covering an incredible amount of ground on defense. From top of the key to baseline three back inside. It was fantastic. he came out of nowhere and swatted smith and the building went nuts. i was really happy with what he was doing, he looked like he belonged on the floor
  18. i think the Bulls have played in the playoffs like they have all season long. Nothing has been easy, there were very few blowouts, and many times it came down to Rose shouldering the load in the 4th quarter. Why did we all expect a domination switch to flip on in the playoffs? They play their best when they play together, as it has been all season long. The games they have lost, the team stood around and waited for Rose to do something. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 11, 2011 -> 12:06 PM) Well everybody was huge in game 3, it was a blowout. The bench really wasn't very good last night either: the Hawks made a run to get back into the game during the "bench mob" period early in the 2nd quarter. The only guy off the bench that was good was Gibson. He was one of the main reasons they pulled away in the 4th quarter with his strong play, though. Three bench players, Asik Gibson and Brewer, were the main reasons. The bench mob
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 11, 2011 -> 10:45 AM) Sony hopes to restore PlayStation Network by end of May I repeat: Don't f*** with hackers. You still think this was Anonymous. I think you are way off base. Anonymous does things to show people they can do it. This was a money grab
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 11, 2011 -> 08:52 AM) The cost of that cheap shot by Bynum? $702k. Ouch. and a lame apology
  21. Asik was magnificent tonite, he changed the way Teague attacked the rim. As soon as he came in Teague stopped driving to the rim at will

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 10, 2011 -> 02:58 PM) I was just making a joke because I hate when actors play multiple roles like that. I never read comics but I did watch batman/Spiderman/X-Men etc growing up. So to me, if someone plays a major character in one superhero film, it kind of takes away from who they play in another. At least to me it does. Well not only is it odd to see someone playing multiple heros in different movies, but this is a marvel character and a DC character. That is pretty crazy in itself that both franchises would allow it

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 10, 2011 -> 02:01 PM) I love comic book movies, but have never read a single comic book in my life. I used to watch the X-Men, Batman, and Spider-man cartoons, though. I also hate Ryan Reynolds, but I'm not familiar with the personality of the Green Lantern. Does he fit it well? there is a couple different iterations of Green Lantern through the years. The guy that RR is playing(Hal Jordan) is supposed to be an incredibly self centered jerk. He actually goes bad in the comics(then I think he comes back to Green Lantern later on again). The Green Lantern chose him because he is fearless. But strangely enough, his sense of humor is very appropriate for Deadpool
