  1. They weren’t owed much at all, prorated 10.4M and 3M. Can’t imagine that’s gonna sweeten the deal that much
  2. Wegner, I think it’s gonna be like this a while.
  3. That team was strong for a year and a half man, the pitching fell apart after the all star break in 06 and it was a tire fire in 07
  4. Given that it will not impact the Sox at all, I don’t think it’s gonna be very big
  5. Kyyle23 replied to oldsox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well this is the “looking forward to my later years” pep talk I was looking for ?. Can’t wait for all the suck
  6. They are trading off expiring contracts and keeping controllable assets. If you wanna quibble about technical definitions of words within this conversationyou are free to do so. I’m just calling it what it is
  7. I keep reading this and laughing wondering what anyone thinks this is? It’s a rebuild! They are selling off and this team is gonna suck! Jerry’s patience doesn’t matter at all
  8. I’m with you in that I am interested in keeping him and building around him, and he is the only thing really worth watching right now. I see the idea behind sell it all now, but I just am not on board with going full Oakland right now because it has no actual impetus behind it for this front office to actually try to win
  9. I don’t count it less but it’s just not repeatable process, and that’s what we all want
  10. Honestly after 2006 I never viewed it any other way than lightning in a bottle
  11. Remember when they talked about a sustainable pipeline of talent
  12. Nah I’m just posting my thoughts on the trade here I’m not really interested in finding ridiculous posts and calling them out and I never said the rebuild didn’t fail nor did I say I don’t feel they should rebuild. This front office shouldn’t be anywhere near this and I am absolutely within my rights to question their ability to scout when acquiring assets
  13. I don’t think either of these guys compare to Monty or Schultz and the more I read on Quero the more I’m thinking closer to Mark Johnson than Narvaez. And honestly it’s hard for me to trust the Sox farm system to get them where they need to be, so it actually isn’t meaningless to me that their farm system sucks because they have similar issues developing players and now the Sox have to carry that load. I was looking for players on the cusp of being in the majors and they got players they need to develop
  14. Do you honestly believe this tiger is changing its stripes. Like deep down you honestly believe the owner of this team is about to go for it like, say it out loud “Jerry is about to spend money and go for it” and see if you can finish the sentence with a straight face
  15. They have to rebuild to a contending team. They are back to 2019 square one. They had Abreu as their little torch carrier through that and probably are dumb enough to think Luis would be happy to do the same thing
  16. They aren’t calling it a rebuild but it is. Jerry doesn’t care. Why would he? He has his money. Shed some payroll
  17. The point is Lucas should be signed by now, it should not have gotten to this point, and now they Sox are going to be replacing a starter regardless. They got no player that they can confidently say will be in the majors next season, and even if they do we are looking at a period of struggle like we already went through with Giolito. You wanna be happy about the prospects, fine, golf clap. I’m pissed about everything leading up to it, the fact that they got this out of the way first so they could concentrate on dealing lynn(good old Bruce said that on the score 20 minutes ago), and they traded with a team with almost as bad as a farm as our own
  18. This is simply not true. It was reported that Giolito wanted long term and everything fell apart when they had to go to arbitration over a difference of 50k
  19. My takes aren’t crazy if this is true. And why should I trust the people this front office hired to get those players to the majors
  20. That’s nice and all but I don’t believe Harold works there and they just sent out Hahn to talk about the trade he just made
  21. I feel a little bit of “well we got something” in this thread and honestly that sucks even worse. The guy who fucked this up is trying to fix this and we are so whiplashed and becoming accepting. This is just awful on every level
