QUOTE(Shadows @ May 8, 2007 -> 08:27 PM) Its a movie thats why, the villians have to die.. Its not like a comic book where they can just keep coming back.. it was sad that venom had to die, but thats just how they have to do it for movies Venom isnt dead. If Green Goblins kid can take that explosion 10 inches from his face and only have a damaged eye and cheekbone(anyone notice how it didnt burn off his hair?), then Eddie Brock/Venom can survive that blast. Plus, there was no body. So that leaves the perfect "out" for Venoms return, PLUS it gives the writers an easy way to write in Carnage(ie. the explosion mutates part of the symbiote, it latches on to someone, blah blah blah). besides, no one ever truly dies in a comic book. They can write ANYONE back in. Its really funny how everyone I know who saw Spidey 3 said the same thing when he got the black suit. "Peter Parker went Emo". It was hilarious, even some kids sitting behind me in the theatre said it loud enough for me to hear.

QUOTE(mreye @ May 11, 2007 -> 01:25 PM) kyyle, I still get sore from softball. You use diffeerent muscles. Thanks everyone. I almost forgot. Miller Lite had a booth set up at Mile 10 and were handing out cups of beer. Yes, you heard me right. I passed it up and decided to wait until after. The smell around that booth was nasty on a 75 degree day!! If I remember right, the biggest difference is that Softball/baseball(stop/start activity) is an Anaerobic sport vs running as an Aerobic(continuous movement/activity) sport(If I am using the wrong term, forgive me, I think we learned that stuff in gym class in high school). Going from standing still to a full sprint continuously just wears on my groin and hamstring muscles. You passed up free Beer? I just dont know you like I thought I did.....

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 12, 2007 -> 09:04 AM) Bob, honestly, who cares what our former prospects do? The Sox have ZERO, NONE, NADDA control over prospects once they go to another organization. It's a double edged sword around here. KW trades a prospect and he turns into something = dumb move by KW KW trades a prospect and he turns into nothing = KW's farm system sucks. Ever hear of talking a player up and selling high on him? How about trading away a player because there are some hidden medical reasons or character issues? You honestly think Beane gives a rat's ass how Neal Cotts has only had one great year and ERA's of 5 every other year? Does Walt Jocketty lose sleep at night because the three guys he gave up for McGwire haven't done s***? Of course not. Preach on Brother! -

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 12, 2007 -> 07:31 AM) If you predicted the White Sox were going to have a 3.69 team ERA at this point in the season, I'd like to see where that appears. The fact of the matter is we still are far from a playoff team. If not for the Royals handing us 3 games, our record could easily be 2 or 4 games under .500. I think we can survive without Pods, but we need contributions from Thome and Hall for this offense to get corrected or there will be no way for us to keep up with DET and CLE, or the Yankees and Red Sox, for that matter. LOL, it isnt about his prediction, it is about yours. You made the thread, its a long season and it was a bit premature. You should expect these types of reactions. -
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 11, 2007 -> 09:32 PM) IS it really too much to ask to win a game 9 to 0 periodically? It doesnt matter, when we win games like that people are just gonna b**** about Corpseball being all or nothing. Winning close games are more important than blowing people out, although blowouts are more fun to watch

QUOTE(diegotony06 @ May 11, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) I'd leave Thorton in the game. We'll see what happens. Haha no. Not against Sweeney with the tying run on base you dont.

Thornton found his balls in his locker. Nice to see some smoke out of that arm

Those doubles were mirror images of one another

Get Jon out. Now

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 11, 2007 -> 09:17 PM) That was the dumbest slide attempt I have seen a sox player in a long time. Wow. You try to sneak your foot in where the catchers foot is. Whoopsie, the catcher was up the line a bit. The plate was 3 feet on the other side. Some of those fundamentals me and you were just talking about

Wow. Did Pablo slow up because he thought the ball wasnt being thrown?

Transformers, coming out 7/04/2007 www.michaelbay.com has Optimus Prime(my current avatar), Bumblebee, Ironhide, Jazz, Megatron, Blackout, Starscream and Frenzy in thumbnails and hi-res pics. I have been trying to post the thumbnails, but I keep getting this: If anyone can post them please do so, I get the same error every time I try to post ANY picture. Maybe I am doing something wrong Im stoked for this movie, the preview looks really great

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 4, 2007 -> 12:06 PM) There was a song on Anti-Christ Superstar that was much better than "Beautiful People", but it never made it out as a single. Much more aggresive and "hooky" actually. Have you heard that full length? Manson is one of the most "hit or miss" artists to ever work, IMO. When he is good, he is REAL good, but when he is bad, he's terribly boring. The new one has a couple of good tracks, but is more "in one ear, out the other" than anything else. The guitar tone is killer on most tracks though. When he is "rocking" it carries a very Alice Cooper feel to it due to those guitars. I believe that Mechanical Animals was and will always be Marilyn Mansons finest effort, top to bottom. Antichrist Superstar was good but rough around the edges, which he probably preferred. Mechanical Animals was polished to perfection. I still love to blast "The last day on Earth"

Anyone up for Chat?

I bet Tito is calling for Ozzies head from his seat right now.
-
I dont like the way Terrero was hit by that pitch. Time to replace him with Sweeney.
-
OK, Terrero took a strike. Time to get Sweeney in there
-
Comcast Chicago has been on the air far too long to be consistently having the technical glitches and problems that I see everytime I watch a show or game. I just watched the entire pre-game before the first pitch at about a 3-7 second delay between the video and audio. Thats just embarrassing.
-
I have been watching the show Cash Cab on the Discovery Channel. Its kind of fun to watch. Its a fun concept, I wish the guy would come out to Chicago some time.

QUOTE(The Critic @ May 11, 2007 -> 04:41 PM) Rob Conway and Too Cold Scorpio were released by WWE in the past couple of days. I didn't realize either of them were even on the payroll anymore. The last time I remember Conway was a pay per view where a bunch of hall of famers and soon-to-be hall of famers were in the ring, and he came in and talked smack and got beat down by Superfly Snuka and Dusty Rhodes. He had some wierd bondage outfit going on, I remember thinking to myself that he reminded me of Buff Bagwell when Buff was on his way out. Conway never got a shot after the French Connection(I think that was their name) broke up. Then again, Rene Dupree hasnt gotten much of a shot himself. I dont think I have ever seen Too Cold Scorpio on television.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ May 11, 2007 -> 04:09 PM) I meant that he's been a bust for this year. I expected more from him. I just dont understand this. Not at all. Thabo has been a great surprise for me, I didnt expect him to be taking nearly as many minutes this year as he has. What did you expect from him? What draft report did you read? -

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ May 11, 2007 -> 02:32 PM) I was being ironic. who the hell remembers the TV show beauty and the beast. I do. But only because I am a Ron Perlman fan. I love his dry sense of humor. Looking at the screenshot, I cant see Ron Perlman, it really looks like Dennis Hopper if anyone . Maybe he only supplied the voice for Jacob's "Help Me".
