I was only able to catch about the last 10 minutes of the show, but I got to see Creed pass around a fake collection, Michaels apology/threat that he wont leave the office ever, and Dwight acting like Jim. I can only wonder if the rest of the show was that hilarious.
  2. QUOTE(Top Notch @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 07:12 AM) No, they weren't. Doug Mientiksdkitkdstwitz was wearing a solid red knee high sock. Not stirrups. It's funny how everyone remembers Schilling hyping up "the sock," as if he was the one to point it out. This is a non-issue and people's arguments are becoming more and more asinine by the second. http://images.usatoday.com/sports/baseball...ling-low-in.jpg http://www.benmaller.com/graphics/photos/schillingblood.jpg Yes, they were. See that red stripe above the blood stain? Those are stirrups Just because Doug Meintkevicz was wearing solid red socks doesnt mean the rest of the team has to follow suit
  3. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 12:06 PM) To be fair to Maxim, Hawk and Santo were ranked by height. LMAO!
  4. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2849747 How long until they test the sock in cooperstown to prove that it was real?
  5. I used to love to listen to the Tony Bruno Morning Show Extravaganza when it was on Fox Radio back in the day. Tony has this infectious laugh that would make me start laughing even if it wasnt funny, but most of the time Tony was really funny. Tony made Andrew Siciliano (his sidekick at the time, who ended up taking over the show) tolerable, which is downright amazing. There are some really good Sports talk hosts out there who can blend humor, friendly banter, and opinions without seeming over the top. Very few of these guys, if any, are with ESPN. ESPN just seems focused on having their Eric Cassillias and Colin Cowherds throw out counterproductive statements intended to rile up listeners, instead of making them think and respond. I do like Mac, Jurko and Harry, but they seem to be an exception to the ESPN rule.
  6. I swear I saw the ump tell Zumaya "Learn to Close!"
  7. Ugh, The Insider is the second most awful show in history, behind Entertaintment Tonite. Why must they make us watch regularly scheduled programming while the rain delay is going on?
  8. Interesting news and notes from rajah.com source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter Arn Anderson was recently approached about coming out of retirement. The original idea called for him to wrestle in one or two TV matches where he'd team up with Ric Flair to help market the Four Horsemen DVD. Triple H was the main person pushing for it, as was Stephanie McMahon. Anderson was positive about the idea, but due to legal liabilities to the company in case he was injured with the pre-existing condition, it won't happen unless there is a medical clearance. When the idea got out, the idea got out of control, to the point it was talked about him becoming a player/coach on RAW, similar to Finlay on SmackDown. The idea is that Anderson and Finlay are about the same age, and Finlay was out of action for several years, came back, and ended up being one of the best workers in the company. WWE has handed down a 60-day suspension on SmackDown referee Chris Kay. The reason for his suspension has yet to be disclosed. The referee roster is thinned out moreso because Nick Patrick in on limited duty due to a sore back. Although there is no real talk on the subject, Mistico's CMLL contract expires in June. WWE didn't sign him after his tryout in February because they were led to be believe that he was under a long-term contract to CMLL. Mr. Kennedy, MVP, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch are getting marks from some people in management because they are studying 80s tapes of long matches to improve their ring psychology. MVP has shelves full of videos from that era of Eddie Guerrero, Dynamite Kid, Dean Malenko, Tiger Mask and Toshiaki Kawada among others. WWE has taken action against Randy Orton for unprofessional conduct
  9. So none of you watched the people that made a**es out of themselves trying out for Idol? Interesting
  10. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:17 PM) Fixed. Yeah, I guess watching people get paid millions of dollars to throw balls and swing pieces of wood doesn't make much sense, either. I'll just never understand the appeal of "Dancing with the stars," "American Idol," etc. Its competitive, just in a different way. My Mom and wife were arguing over who they thought would win "Dancing with the Stars" the same way I argue with my best friend who is going to win Sox vs Cubs. And lets not kid ourselves, We ALL watch the selection weeks of American Idol.
  11. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:15 PM) I just don't get "reality" TV. Lame contests and following other people around and watching their lives on TV. What's entertaining about that? I dont know what is entertaining about it, but it works. Those shows draw in viewers by the thousands, and they love it. Some people like living vicariously through others on tv I guess My wife loves that crap, so she doesnt give me a hard time about watching sports. Its a good tradeoff for us
  12. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 09:55 PM) HBK and Cena have been in this match for about 40 minutes. There have been like 5 commercial breaks during it, and it's incredibly boring. I think this match has actually lasted over an hour. It must have something to do with Orton's actions, because he was supposed to wrestle Edge tonight. I just can't believe they couldn't come up with something better than an hour-long match that is way, way, way too boring. You couldn't throw together a mid-card match or two in a rush? I dont mind the length, but I half expected some sort of run-in during the match to make it exciting. HBK winning was pretty cool though, it was a great super kick off the FU
  13. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 10:39 PM) Sisco and MacDougal were both geeked up to face the former teams, especially Sisco. Jeremy was throwing 94-95 and Mike 95-96, which is the hardest each has thrown this season (that I've seen). Jeremy who?

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 01:10 PM) I tried to convince my wife that Bane was actually a cool character in the comics, but it was a lost cause once she saw the movie. Hmm, from the online spoilers I just read, things are quite a bit further along than that. But, to be sure. . . had Galactus made an appearance yet? No doubt It has gone much farther. I just havent been able to continue buying the comic recently due to time and money issues. I will pick it back up soon enough. I did the same thing with the Dark Tower books. I ripped through the first 4, and took a while to get to the last 3.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 12:32 PM) Cool. What issue are we on now? Im not sure, Im gonna have to get my copy back from my friend. Last I read, the zombie hulk removed(read: bit off) the Silver Surfers head to turn him into a zombie. I havent continued since I lent that issue to him. Its a very cool "end to all life as we know it" series

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 12:05 PM) Guy under his arm is Colossus. PS. Id like to see this batman and robin recreation thingy. What I was referring to was the Batman and Robin movie by Joel Shumacher. It was a very campy and insane interpretation of Gotham. And dont get me started on the characters.
  17. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 12:15 PM) I am to lazy to look but who was the jouryman 2B that is at AAA. I think you are thinking of Junior Spivey
  18. IIRC correctly, Shelton started off the year on fire last year, and completely hit a wall after his initial offensive explosion. Does anyone have any of his minor league numbers after he was sent down? Im curious if he recovered.

Vince gets every girl. It doesnt matter who or when, he always gets it when he wants it. Ari was hilarious this episode. His wild swing in mood was really good, and he really showed plenty of his character.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 09:00 PM) I had stopped reading for years also. Though when I was last into it I was reading all indies, aside from Judge Dredd. But recently I have fallen so head over heals in love with the Marvel Essential lines that I have decided to start picking up titles here and there. I just grabbed a few issues of Daredevil. I never gave any time to the old Marvels, due mainly to the outrageous prices on them. So these Essentials are friggin' awesome in learning what they did way back when. There is some serious cheese at times (cover to cover with Ghost Rider), but it's also fun seeing how they all changed. I'm reading volume 1 of Iron Man right now. Dear Mr. Stark is all ready showing signs of falling apart, and we haven't even made it out of the Tales Of Suspense years yet! I've been tempted to pick up the Zombie line...but am hesitant. Is it a full official run, or is it an excuse to make a graphic novel? Official run. And well worth the investment

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 11:24 AM) Yep. No clue. Quicksilver maybe, based on the silver hair? Speaking of Silver, did you see how Silver Surfer became a Zombie? Quite brutal. The Hulk was the reason why, and he didnt take it easy on the surfer

Captain Marvel, of course. The parent company's less than exciting namesake. Its too bad that they cannot come up with something decent for her in a storyline. She has pretty much been a cameo here, a cameo there, and every once in a while a storyline that ends badly.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 10:53 AM) I can't tell who a few of those are. Little help? Clockwise from top left Ironman Hulk Spiderman Human Torch Thing She-Hulk Wolverine Captain America Cyclops Rogue Nightcrawler Magneto is smashed in above Wolverines shoulder, below thing Im drawing a blank on the misty black costumed guy in the middle, and the guy under Things outstretched arm

QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 10:29 AM) I think its because of me growing up as a huge stars fan, that any thing other then the original isn't right for me... I hate change. Did you hate Episode 1, 2 and 3?

Another different yet brilliant view, Marvel Zombies http://dallas.caramelcomics.com/catalog/im...vel-zombies.jpg I say lets hear em' all. If you have seen something you like or dont like, then post it. There has been plenty of movies in this vein recently(King Kong, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Planet of the Apes, Lost in Space, etc)
