QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 21, 2006 -> 10:28 AM) Did he say anything new? We all know KW and him had a beef. The end. I wish it were The End. But Frank keeps talking about it. Usually until KW snaps and says some more stupid things. Stop. Repeat cycle.
-
Frank should go back on his media boycott.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2452645 Eh, I dont agree with this. I think a retractable roof is almost mandatory for the Twins. They just dont have a long enough summer.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 21, 2006 -> 10:17 AM) Barrett will be starting at catcher today. LOL, maybe it will be like one of those playoff hockey games where they start brawling before the first pitch is thrown.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 21, 2006 -> 10:09 AM) Do you think Boone could hit the guy? Boone can throw a ball at a bat with the best of them. Im sure he can throw a ball at a person.

I really dont like how AJ's percieved attitude has somehow justified Barretts actions to many fans and people in the press. Everyone has really glossed over the fact that Barrett has been pulling this stunt for 3 years now, and they are focusing on AJs actions as an instigator. It is plain to anyone who watches the film that AJ didnt say anything and was going for his helmet, and Barrett just snapped.

QUOTE(G&T @ May 21, 2006 -> 09:50 AM) And that's why Ozzie called him a "triple A (bleep)." sometimes I wonder if he says "s***" or "f***". Both could fit into any of his (Bleep)-fests

QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 21, 2006 -> 09:46 AM) [/b] You see, Cubs fans are calling for Dustys head for not supporting Barrett. This is the kind of quote that Dusty would have had to come up with, and that is just pathetic and sad. For once I agree with Dusty's choice in not backing up Barrett, because Rich Hill sounds like a guy who wasnt watching the game. The damn ball hit AJ in the back as he collided with Barrett. If that ball arrived one second sooner, and it could have been just a play at the plate, AJ out. Rich Hill is a moron.

QUOTE(wallyburger @ May 21, 2006 -> 07:27 AM) How is A J different than Torii Hunter? Baseball needs to take thet play out of baseball. Maybe players will just start crashing into infielders on DP balls next. Barrett probably did what every other catcher , who has been cheap shotted would like to do. A J wasn't cheap shotted. Obviously he is no fighter. You don't stick your face in someone else's unless you want to get popped, and that sorry ass excuse will get him about 5 games. Brian Anderson will cost himself at least 5 games. His action was idiotic. What in Hell did Mabry do? A baseball that turns into a hockey game is embarassing. BTW, anybody remember AJ stepping on the 3B as he was rounding the bag earlier. That was as bad as Marcus Vick stomping on Dumerville. That will tell you what a jerk off A J is. Not following you Wally, AJ was grabbed and held by Barrett who popped him. Being a jerk doesnt mean its a free pass to hit him. Barrett was clearly blocking the entire plate, and AJ had no choice but to go through him. Baker, Barrett, Guillen, Jones, Podsednik, everyone agreed it was a clean play at the plate by pierzynski. Watch the video on MLB.com, AJs helmet is right behind Barrett, and he was walking towards it. If anything, look at the way AJ is walking with his hands down at his side, like he is trying to stay out of starting something, and Barrett just mistook AJ coming over to get his helmet with AJ gloating and showing off to the other dugout. And AJ going over Boone isnt even close to this. AJ didnt plop down on Boones back and stomp him, he tried to jump him and took all of his wieght off of his leg that was on Boones back as he was running, which created a hilarious chicken wing look when he was running. I think if Boone felt that AJ stomped him, he would have gotten up and done something about it.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 21, 2006 -> 09:01 AM) I can't wait to hear Hawk comment on this. This might be the worst article I've ever read. Im thinking a "That is BEEEEEEEEE ESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS" is in order

QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 21, 2006 -> 08:51 AM) I think Montero will go down instead of Logan, but that's just me. What if Montero AND Logan go down, Contreras comes off the DL and Nelson comes up? How long has Nelson been down there, only a week or more?

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 20, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) No, I'm just saying these guys are pretty dumb to think they're gonna get some kind of response, let alone a response to allow them to sue. Do they really think they're original in doing this? Idiots... Yeah, I think AJ will just do what he did yesterday. Have security throw them out.

what happened?

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 20, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) Reading through that thread, it occurs to me that I'm sure AJ has already gone through some terrible heckling in the past. I doubt these guys are going to say anything he hasn't heard or anything that's bad enough to set AJ off. Oh, Im not worried about AJ one bit. I just find it amusing that Cubs fans are conspiring now to annoy Sox players.

White Sox News Conference Coming Up Live on ESPNews

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2006 -> 06:17 PM) I agree with the end of that statement completely, and its just another example of Dusty being a horrible manager. It tells the player that Dusty Baker doesn't give a s*** about them, only himself looking good. Even if he doesn't believe it, a good manager backs up his players in a situation like that. Instead Dusty just threw his best hitter under the bus. Dusty wasnt going to make too many things up(cough i didnt see any punches thrown cough), I dont see how he could have supported Barrett in this instance. Barrett has a history of this kind of behavior, and Baker cannot keep glossing it over. Dusty probably just lost his best hitter right now because of a play that Dusty said himself was a good baseball play, and AJ did nothing wrong. -
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 20, 2006 -> 05:07 PM) In the heat of the moment, I could see that and thats why the two bump into each other, but AJ never showed any indication of swinging so Barret jumped the gun. Do I need to add that I LOVE AJ. Barrett thought that AJ was coming his way initially, but I think after he grabbed AJ he said to himself "f*** it" and just popped him. It was a schoolyard bully tactic and he knows it.

QUOTE(shoota @ May 20, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) Any video of AJP five-finger slapping home plate, two-arm waving to the crowd and slapping himself as if to say "Michael Barrett punches like a b****"? Ha, that was awesome
-
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 20, 2006 -> 05:03 PM) Why is it during that video Jennie (or whomever is narrating) accuses AJ of chirping with Barrett? It's almost as if the punch is justified in her mind. I also don't understand listening to callers who say AJ purposely bumped Barrett. Are these people watching the same video I am? He may have GRAZED Barrett. There's no in between in this issue. If someone were to poll the nation to see who's at fault, it'd probably be 70/30 in favor of Barrett. The areas opposing him coming from Los Angeles, Minnesota, and the Northside of Chicago. Jeannie Zalasco has been hating on the White Sox since last years playoffs, i wasnt surprised when she inferred that AJ instigated that.

I thought DJ was really good, actually. Brenneman was Mr Cubs and DJ was Mr White Sox and they both did a good job and rarely spoke over each other. DJ was given an opportunity to share some of his baseball knowledge and I think he did really well.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 20, 2006 -> 04:27 PM) Two quick comments: - With Ozzie in charge of the team, Garcia might as well cancel his All-Star break plans. - No one has been more responsible for the winning the Sox have done over the last year and a quarter than AJP. No s***, Garcia has turned it up a huge notch since his first couple of duds

This is a good one from RoastTheD---Goat They are good fighters? Barrett got suckerpunched and thats good? Bragging about Kyle Farnsworth bodyslamming a guy? Farnsworth is humungous, that wasnt that big of a deal. LOL, these guys are finding good things to say about Barrett.
