  1. http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-spt-jay15.html Highlights, or lowlights as you will, of Mr Mariotti's recent flip flop. Despite saying yesterday that he thought the ball bounced, Mariotti infers that he thinks the Sox didnt win the game the right way. What the hell does one have to do with another? William Ligue's name should not be mentioned, ever, when the Sox are in the playoffs. Mariotti just keeps bringing up intensely embarrassing moments for no reason. Sounds like Mariotti is reporting things that never happened again, and got caught again. Why am I not surprised.
  2. HELL YEAH!!!!! No matter what, the Sox are playing in Chicago again. Whether it is for game 6 or game 1 of the world series, we will see..... HELL MUTHA f***IN YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  3. Yes he was. And he left because Isiah got the job and he didnt. Not that i blame him, that would have pissed me off too
  4. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) Seriously I remain silent for the most part too until I read a post where someone is knocking religion or spiritualism in general. Then I transform from a dove to a hawk. Funny. Who was the one who starts these discussions, since you are the "silent dove" until someone starts knocking on religion? And who is ever knocking religion? I have read YOU knocking religions other than what you practice, but I rarely read others knocking different religions, if ever.
  5. he waited a while to respond. Thats the only thing that surprises me about his post. Other than that, its just another one of his "Everyone else is narrowminded and should listen to what i have to say because I am smart and you are dumb" posts. He tries to draw out an argument, then tells us we cant argue with him. Its always the same bulls***. Like i said before, BROKEN RECORD
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) I thought he was a fine coach in Indiana.... I mean he is horrible as a GM and everything but I thought he was a good coach just that Bird never gave him a chance. http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/IND/ 1998 Coach- Bird Record- 58-29 lost in Eastern Conference Finals 1999 Coach- Bird Record- 33-17 lost in Eastern Conference Finals(strike year) 2000 Coach- Bird Record- 56-26 lost in NBA Finals 2001 Coach- Thomas Record- 41-41 lost in 1st round 2002 Coach- Thomas Record- 42-40 lost in 1st round 2003 Coach- Thomas Record- 48-34 lost in 1st round 2004 Coach- Carlisle Record- 61-21 lost in Eastern Conference Finals 2005 Coach- Carlisle Record- 44-38 lost in Eastern Conference Semi-finals Come on, Isiah did a bad job with good players, and they barely scraped out a .500 record and never got out of the 1st round. Carlisle was handed the same players and dominated. Bird dominated with the players he handed off to Isiah, and isiah couldnt hack it.
  7. Isiah is all about the fame. He will bolt for the door as soon as the problems set in, he has done that at every place he has touched since he retired. The guy almost singlehandedly brought down the CBA, Toronto Raptors, and his coaching in Indiana was mediocre at best. Now the Knicks are realizing how bad he is, but yet they still let him throw around money like it is going out of style. Like my man Steve Czaban once said; Isiah will run in the house with his handy torch in hand, light up the couch, the drapes, the walls, all the while telling you that he is tearing down the old to reconstruct the new. Then he will conveniently step out of the front door when the roof comes crashing down, and walk down the street saying "I dont know what happened back there...."
  8. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) Ham. CB. Shortwave. Mr. Microphone. LOL. Back in high school in Batavia, there was this guy who used to go to the McDonalds all the time who was "Mr Ham Radio". This guy drove with headphones on, 99 percent of the time, and had more than 20 huge antennas on his lime green escort. Always funny to see the guy cruise through
  9. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) Kyyle: Radio 1995-2003 Travel 2003 Radio 2003-2004 Travel 2004-2005 Radio 2005 Political Campaign 2005 Travel 2005 - ... What kind of radio? Talk? news? Music?
  10. I worked at a Radio station for 5 years Rex. It broke my radio spirit. Radio is such a bad job to try and make a living and be happy. It also incorporates a "Good ole boys network" thought process. Kiss your program directors ass and things will work out as long as you do. Corporate ownership has ruined the spontaneousness and unpredictability of radio. Now, if you are an up and coming band, you better get yourself a label with strong corporate backing. Which means you have to change your sound to conform to corporate standards. Alot of the great bands that are coming up now, are put on the backburner because of incredible band fakes like Ryan Cabrera and Simple Plan. Sorry, I have gotten into my anti-corporate radio rant. Another time, another thread. In conclusion, I think not going into Radio was a good thing for you Rex.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) It occurs to me that as we all think back over the season, what an amazing ride it's been. It's united us all here - fans all across the country (and hell, the WORLD (hey Credepopsup and Deplorer!!) - cheering for the same team. And here we are, 1-1 in the ALCS... with the potential to make it all the way. No matter what happens, this Sox team has created more memories then any other in two generations. What a ride it's been, and may this train keep on chugging along, all the way to 7 more W's. I will raise a glass to that
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) um. hey guys. the white sox are tied 1-1 in the ALCS, and we have Jon Garland, Freddy Garcia, and Jose Contreras going in the next three games. Why all the anger? It isnt our pitchers I am worried about. Its our hitters. We just got blanked by a guy who is 2 days removed from a 100 degree fever, and only got two runs off of a guy who had 3 days rest. The Sox also havent scored on their bullpen yet. The bats have to get going.
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 08:23 AM) First of all a major league player, especially an outfielder better be in good enough shape to sprint the bases, so I have a hard time accepting he was tired when he reached third. I'd be interested in seeing if Cora looked at the left fielder's position before sending him. With it being an out, it's easier to say it was the wrong call. I'm guessing the bigger mistake was not seeing the left fielder being in position to quickly pick up the ball and make the throw. Quinlann was the 3rd baseman at the time, not the left fielder.
  14. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) Just because we got by with it doesn't mean that Cora wasn't a total jackass there. There was no reason for AROW to have slid there and DEFENITELY no reason to have sent him afterward. If Cora had watched the throw come in from right and seen how off line it was and was waving all the way AROW would have made it easily. Cora told him to get down because Vlad missed the cutoff man and the throw was coming through. I think this was the biggest detractor of the play, Aaron had no momentum after sliding, and was spent from running out a triple, then he had to steam down the line. Just a really bad judgement call from Cora. He should have known better.
  15. I have wanted to own a pet store for my whole life. I probably will someday. Stores like PetSmart and Petco make it pretty difficult for small petstores to compete though.
  16. And they plan on having more. Im surprised her uterus can actually hold a baby in for the entire term. You would think the muscles that contract and flex would just be worn out and given up by now. Why does it not surprise me that this family is involved in Creation Evangalism? The bunker/dreamhome/commune is a nice touch too.

  18. You guys are playing right into Dan Patricks hand. he wants you to be pissed, and he wants you to b**** and moan because it is GOOD radio. Controversy always rules. Ignore Dan, he is just trying to rile you up.
  19. He is contradicting what ozzie said. Hudler just said that ozzie and the entire dugout told AJ to start running to first, and ozzie said he thought the play was over, looked down and was writing on his lineup card.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) Another Ipod out, which means even more Ipods are outdated. One of the main reasons I won't buy an Ipod. You're s***'s outdated within 2 weeks. I dont think mine is outdated. Its just another in a variety of different styles that you can choose from. I think the video ipod is cool, and the photo ipod, but I dont need it. I have my music-only ipod, and I am really happy with it. It all depends on what you want.
  22. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) WHY YOU SHOULD CONVERT TO FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTERISM 1. Flimsy moral standards. 2. Every friday is a relgious holiday. If your work/school objects to that, demand your religious beliefs are respected and threaten to call the ACLU. 3. Our heaven is WAY better. We've got a Stripper Factory AND a Beer Volcano Whoa. God has nothing on the FSM. (I especially like the Sistine Chapel interpretation.)
  23. Well Rich McKinney would like everyone to know that he hooked up with a fatty last night. So there.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 12:54 AM) Or just pay $1.99 for 40 minutes of entertainment that you missed and don't want to wait months for. Seems like a much better deal than $0.99 for a 3-minute song. I agree. I would enjoy downloading a show that I missed because I watched a baseball game(ie. Boston Legal tuesday night) and watch it whenever I feel like it.
