QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 11, 2018 -> 06:08 AM) Dodgers have luxury tax issues the cubs don’t have. Dodgers have never had problems adding players they wanted despite those tax issues. If they wanted him he would have been there

QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 10, 2018 -> 06:25 PM) They know more about Arrietta than anyone. That should tell you something. Kind of like the Dodgers being unwilling to resign Darvish after going to the World Series with him. Player evaluation is weird, man

I dunno, if it was me I would rather hand that money to Arrietta

QUOTE (WBWSF @ Feb 9, 2018 -> 06:37 PM) 1) Trading Robertson was simply a salary dump. 2) The White Sox now have one of the worse bullpens in MLB. 3) Not only was it a bad trade for the White Sox but Dave Robertson is not happy about being traded to the Yankees. He's in his last year of his contract and he wants to be a closer. That is not going to happen in New York as long as Chapman is there. I wouldn't be surprised to see Robertson traded soon. 1) they are rebuilding 2) they are rebuilding 3) they are rebuilding, and nobody cares about David Robertson’s feelings when he is a reliever making 10+ million a year

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 9, 2018 -> 08:41 AM) Theyda been fine if they didn't insist on putting a decent 3b in center field every other day. The pitching faded, they were gassed from the previous season

QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 8, 2018 -> 06:44 PM) I sat about 14 rows up from the Sox dugout that game. I’ll always remember Reyes and his high socks. f*** that 2006 team. They had everything they needed to repeat. Except the stamina

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 8, 2018 -> 02:20 PM) I'm pretty sure he is the reason Hawk fired LaRussa. Hawk wasn't a big fan, and I do seem to recall something later on, but can't quite remember. I think it had something to do with that 2006 series when the Sox destroyed them before the break. I think Larussa and Duncan accused the Sox of stealing signals or something and Hawk said something

Bulls are 1.4M under the salary floor. They need to add someone, somewhere -
Am I wrong or wasnt there some beef between Duncan and Hawk a few years back?

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Feb 8, 2018 -> 07:17 AM) McDaniels is a scumbag and I'm glad I don't make the calls in Halas Hall because I liked him for the Bears at the start of the search. Also can't help but think this is Ballard's/Colts fault as well. Looks like they had ZERO plan B for McDaniels and agreements are nothing without a signature on the dotted line. If Ballard really had been in contact with McDaniels as much as he should have,he would have noticed the waivering and tried to plan/execute a plan B but he put all his eggs in one basket. Also yes i think it will be Toub because of the Ballard ties. It’s really hard for me to hang anything on the colts. McDaniels hired four assistants before he backed out

Cumulus Media trying to drop White Sox/Bulls from WLS

QUOTE (New Era on South Side @ Feb 8, 2018 -> 06:33 AM) So do I, but I don’t hear them talk about the White Sox consistently. Honestly, there isnt much to talk about consistently. The last two offseasons havent exactly been exciting in the respect of building up the major league team. The trades involving Eaton and Sale were talked about a lot last year but there wasnt much else to discuss. This offseason even more. Look at this PHT forum, all we do is speculate the future, we dont have much to talk about in the present because we know this season isnt gonna be great unless something truly unexpected happens. if the sox start winning, they will discuss it. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 8, 2018 -> 08:32 AM) After the prostitution scandal investigation concludes, I doubt it. -
Altered Carbon is decent but very uneven and dragged down by a few really bad performances. A few episodes I really liked, and any time Matt Frewer was on screen

They talk about the Cubs more, but what do you expect, they are winning. I hear plenty of sox talk and I listen all day long while working -

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Feb 6, 2018 -> 12:24 PM) That's what I thought. The people I was with thought it was good but I just assumed I was out of touch. Seemed like the songs were chaotically thrown together. The game was great. Brady Is the GOAT. After Seattle and Atlanta melting away against he Patriots , I liked that the Eagles won. Has there been any explanation as to why Butler was benched? a couple of things have come out. Rapaport saying he was sick, had a rough week of practice and had a minor team rule infraction which was believed to be curfew related. I believe Brandon Browner tweeted that he also went to a Rick Ross concert and got stoned and that caused the team infraction

Episode 4: Forces of Evil is f***ing awesome

I think of the ones you mentioned Plus Jabba, Boba Fett (to me) would be the biggest stretch. Apparently a lot of Hans “legends” storyline is being co-opted into this movie, and many other movies to come. Which I think is a smart move by Lucasfilm/Disney

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 5, 2018 -> 03:41 PM) That's not how it seemed from Episode 4. In Episode 4 it was "Han my boy" from Jabba, at least in the scene that was edited out of the original. He was a regular smuggler for Jabba and then he got boarded and had to ditch a shipment, costing Jabba a lot. They were slightly hostile but that was Han too, always a little hostile but also willing to flatter. "I'll give you something a little extra for your troubles". Han then didn't pay him back for the lost shipment after episode 4, instead running away with the Rebels to Hoth. Han was still talking about going to pay Jabba back with the money he had at the start of Empire, but the evacuation, chase, and failure of the hyperdrive prevented that, so he got caught by Fett before he ever got around to paying Jabba. They seemed like they had a decent business relationship, at least for smugglers, at the start of ep 4. So you would agree that establishing a relationship with jabba prior to episode 4 would be telling Hans story?
