President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 26, 2017 -> 10:55 AM) Supposedly Trump is to address the opioid crisis today. Obviously that would seem like a good thing as it is a major problem in America. I just worry about Sessions with anything related to drugs. Such an archaic POV on these matters. He is going to declare a crisis, and will not put any federal funds towards dealing with the crisis So, basically yelling “FIRE!!” Then walking away with a firehose in his hand

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 24, 2017 -> 08:58 PM) In other words, you’ve either never watched wrestling ... or, well, there is no or. If you like “storyline consistency”, you’re delusional if you think you’ve EVER seen it in wrestling, because you haven’t. So yes, and to steal from the Hart family, you have, are, and always will settle for less. Lol, right? Storyline consistency is like “oh s*** we got through a month and a half and nothing went wrong OOOH f*** NOW THAT HAPPENED”

I hope Red Skull makes a surprise appearance in one of the upcoming Avengers movies. I know Weaving was pretty harsh on Marvel shortly after the First Avenger came out, but he seemed game for it recently.

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 24, 2017 -> 11:51 AM) Tbh the real story is not able to be written by a guy like Friedell who still needs to keep some doors open for access. I agree with that. And you can tell by Paxsons quotes throughout the article that he approved of it

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 24, 2017 -> 11:19 AM) Did you and I read the same article? We did. Sorry you were under a rock when Butlers trainer blasted Garpax last year, but that article basically says "We had injuries, a normal parting with Thibs, and players are divas" There is little to no criticism of how terrible the actual trade with the Thunder was, how they actually admitted they took the first deal offered for Butler last summer, how many truly terrible personnel moves they made to get them to the point that they are at right now. Nothing

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 24, 2017 -> 11:15 AM) Nick Friedell creates something like an 8 page term paper, 12-part story starting with the Rose-Bulls and outlining how things got this bad. I gawked a bit at this one from Butler's trainer: Not a lot of blame on GarPax in there

2017-2018 NFL Thread
QUOTE (ptatc @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 05:46 PM) Much of Glennon's passing attempts were due to being down in the score quickly (he caused much of that). If Carolina had scored a few times early, the play calls would have been different as well. However, what hasn't changed is the reluctance to throw to Wrs and only short passes to the TE and backs. Glennon rarely did it and Trubiskey rarely does. They started the Tampa game with like 15 straight passes iirc. Packers game also(which turned into the nightmare game it was) And I think maybe it would have opened up a bit more if Carolina scored a TD also, but they didn’t even try to move the pocket or pass on first down at all. That’s a disservice to Mitch, especially considering he is probably going to have to pass a lot this week against the Saints. The kid needs to find a rhythm

Cohen dropped a perfect back shoulder pass on the first drive and also dropped a bubble screen pass. His numbers should have been better, and the playcalling is doing him zero favors. He also isn’t throwing to guys that are only wide open, he is hitting guys in stride within windows https://twitter.com/nflfilmstudy/status/922283325288599552 https://twitter.com/_marcusd2_/status/922162218896183297

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 08:34 AM) I just don't see why Pitt would. Sure he's disgruntled, but to this point he's still playing. The Steelers are 5-2 and he's a big part of offense. He actually hasn’t been a big part, that’s why he is so upset. He is getting less targets than Ju Ju Schmidt-Schuster and that’s why he demanded a trade

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 08:07 AM) I think that was my favorite scene. I like that the villain wasn't just a copy/paste of the hero (Iron Man fighting another guy in a metal suit, Hulk fighting Abomination, Ant-Man vs another guy who shrinks, Thor vs other God types. Black Panther appears to follow that style as well).

I also think the Vulture is the best villain we've seen so far in this universe, IMO. I still love Loki, but Vulture is definitely up there I really enjoyed the entire scene

QUOTE (ptatc @ Oct 22, 2017 -> 08:36 PM) No doubt but since they can't acquire one during the season, what you see is what you get. I said before they put Trubiskey in that the offense has not WRs so the play calls won't change. The game plan today is the only chance they have to win. Playcalling has changed 100 percent. Glennon threw 40, 45, 22, and 33 times in his starts. I don’t even think Trubisky has thrown over 20 times yet- 2017-2018 NFL Thread
The Bears need wide recievers, period. The opposing defenses don’t even worry about them and still stack the box, they don’t give Trubisky much of a chance to do anything. When he does get a chance you see what he can do, which is pretty good. But the Fox method of getting any lead and salting off the clock is just terrible. - 2017-2018 NFL Thread
