  1. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:54 PM) Huh? CSN+ isn't working for me Until it drizzles or the wind blows too hard Nah. It really has to storm hard for me to lose signal, and usually just for a few minutes at most. Plus I can switch to standard def and normally get a signal
  2. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:40 PM) Dude my dad used to say that same thing about Gavin Floyd lol Gavin at least has an 18 win season on his resume
  3. So is Draymond Green gonna get a suspension for knocking Adams in the nuts for the second time?
  4. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ May 23, 2016 -> 09:21 AM) Is that a thing? Seems like it was at least last night, when he was grabbed by the Nights King and it allowed them to come in
  5. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ May 23, 2016 -> 08:02 AM) 12 plate appearances is a pretty tiny sample size. I'm fine with it. Avi's entire body of work doesn't really lend him a lot of trust
  6. QUOTE (Deadpool @ May 22, 2016 -> 10:28 PM) Sox fans have forgotten how to win. Imagine if this were a Blackhawks thread in the NHL thread. The optimism after one of those wins was enormous for a team with major issues. Almost as bad as Dallas fans
  7. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 22, 2016 -> 11:52 PM) How did Meera kill a White Walker just seconds after one of the Children of the Forrest failed to do so with a similar spear? I think Meera got it in the neck, the CotF stabbed into the armor I just want to see if I got this right. The CotF feared the humans, so they created white walkers, and that quickly spun out of control, so then they created nights watch?
  8. No, it isn't common sense to throw out splits against a pitcher because a guy has changed his batting stance, that is ridiculous. Avi looks the same as he has since the sox acquired him, streaky. And recently he has been trending more towards bad streaky
  9. I bet skip bayless is being trolled like crazy again this morning
  10. Attendance looked good, sox won, beat Royals, Indians lost. All good things

QUOTE (Deadpool @ May 22, 2016 -> 01:25 AM) Saw Eagles of Death Metal! Highly recommended. They're just ridiculous. I also don't find myself agreeing with their singer, Jesse Hughes. You just kind of deal. I read he got himself into trouble recently with some things he said on stage, and also he had tweeted some pro gun comments that he had to walk back. It's hard to really take in what he says at face value, he was in the middle of an extremely traumatic event that no doubt affected him
  12. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 21, 2016 -> 11:22 AM) I was drunk and said some s*** to a certain poster known for his anti hero-worshipping views that went too far. Welcome back, previously your attendance coincided with winning baseball. So if you are drunk, please stay away from anti hero worshipping threads

  14. QUOTE (soxfan85 @ May 20, 2016 -> 01:37 PM) Ok, it was the "easiest" call of a bounce back season ever, I get it. I was just expressing how it was too damn bad that he sucked with the White Sox, that's all.. It would have been nice to see him succeed here, even though we seem to have the knack for players to come here and perform below their career norms. If he wouldn't have sucked with the White Sox, there wouldn't have been the need for him to have a "bounce back" season. My Lord, I didn't know that by joining this site that I would be among so many future GM's and Front Office personnel. And when I was reading this board last season, I surely didn't see anybody here say "oh, this is just an off year...he will bounce back next season." The VAST majority of people here kept saying "Shark sucks", "Shark is the most overrated pitcher in baseball", "Shark has had one good season," etc., etc., etc. It is much easier to talk about how easy his bounce back season was to predict after the fact, that is for sure. IIRC, he is usually a fast starter and then fades as the year goes on. Lets see how he is doing in August and September before we call this a bounce back season. Maybe he has bounced back from worst starter in the league, but i dont think he will go to one of the best.

QUOTE (Deadpool @ May 20, 2016 -> 11:40 AM) Back on topic. Not only are you right about Frank and Sale among the best athletes in White Sox history, it's also interesting that each has had some misfortune when it comes to postseason appearances. Thomas made the postseason in 1993 and 2000 (also 2005 but wasn't available to play) and Sale has yet to play in the postseason. I would have given anything to see Frank in the postseason in 1994. He was an absolute wrecking ball that season
  16. QUOTE (shysocks @ May 20, 2016 -> 11:13 AM) This thread has jumped the shark a bit, no? Yes it has. Nobody is changing minds
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 18, 2016 -> 01:42 PM) Have they tried something with Marvel or DC Comics...to try to attract younger fans? I don't know what it would be, Sox Captain America Bobblehead giveaway, Mascot Race with the main characters, comic books giveaway...heck, they could give away those Andy Skanberg White Sox comics, but something to take advantage of the "moment" marketing-wise? I guess Boyer's retort would be that they've been struggling to develop corporate sponsors at "fair prices" over the last 3-4 years, so money has been tighter in terms of filling the schedule with more giveaway/promotional nights or days. For example, the Twins have a Trevor Plouffe as Luke Skywalker Bobblehead promotion. And back to our regularly scheduled Robin Ventura Talk... Star Wars night.
  18. The greatest thing about Sale this season is he looks like he is locked in, and there is very little emotion on the mound, just business. You used to see him get really upset after mistakes, but now he is just ready to throw the next pitch. Just an awesome thing to watch
  19. Do you have to call Devenski "the dragon" in every post? I still don't even know who he is
  20. caulfield, every trade proposal doesnt have to end with "well you have to trade Fulmer or Adams" Just because they are some of the better players in the farm system does not mean that they are the only players that will be traded. Shields should not cost either of those two, he has a large contract, he is on a bad team, and he is an older player whose skills have declined somewhat and arent likely to get better
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 19, 2016 -> 10:02 AM) Haven't made one since April, and I'm 3-1! you dont qualify for tomorrows thread if this one fails anyways

QUOTE (shipps @ May 19, 2016 -> 12:52 PM) I really like Portugal. the man but I have to be honest, the lyrics they sing are about as atheist as it gets and I consider myself a christian. Not a crazy conservative bible thumping Christian, just something that I believe in. I feel kind of bad liking them. There is plenty songs that I have loved over the years with crazy lyrics but its something about their lyrics that feel pretty bad. Do you guys ever run into liking music that doesnt quite line up with your beliefs? Marilyn Manson in college fit that bill
