QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 05:40 PM) Because they prefer to wait until he cools off...bring him up...then they argue they were justified in not bringing him up because he wasn't ready? The same thing happened with Viciedo one year, Ozzie wanted to keep Juan Pierre in an everyday role "because he worked harder than everyone else on the team and was universally-liked and admired for his career achievements." And at least TIMO PEREZ could hit K-ROD!!! Or, maybe Ozzie saw before anyone else that Viciedo was incapable of adjusting to major league pitching.

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 03:35 PM) So why aren't we saying that Cleveland isn't going to win the division or doesn't deserve to win the division because they are 2-4 against the Twins? Why not say that the Royals don't deserve it if they are going to go 1-3 against the Indians thus far? Or 1-3 against the under .500 Yanks and 0-3 against the last place Angels? The Indians and Royals aren't exactly juggernauts, here. Yes, the Royals are playing much better of late, but both teams have had wildly inconsistent stretches and shown plenty of weaknesses. So have the Sox. I'm call it about even in early June. I hope you're being hyperbolic when you say the White Sox absolutely need to win a series in Detroit this weekend. They may win 3, they may lose 3, they may win or lose 2. It will likely have little bearing on the strategy or the overall standings. No one is going to run away and hide with this division. The composition of this team will drastically change WHEN (not if) the front office acquires players to make their run later this summer. It's likely we won't have the same rotation, daily lineup, or bench. We will likely be much improved, if we can remain injury free. So yes, we will have a much better time beating the Royals and Indians when we are actually sporting a Major League Designated hitter, a deeper bench, and a more seasoned rotation. Additionally, Rodon and Saladino are good examples of players that are apparently benefiting from seasoning on the job, and may be better as we go on. Wouldn't you agree? Would you say that they might be more reliable major league pieces in September than they were in April? Because there are so many teams in the AL that are still in it, it's likely that the White Sox will not acquire all of their pieces until potentially late July or early August, when some teams finally give up. I think I'll wait until then to start proclaiming certain series "must win" Caulfield? No, never

2016-2017 NCAA football thread

That Starr interview where he answered the same question three times differently, with his Pr coach stopping and telling him what to say and trying to edit out what he said, just shameful -
I hope drinking wasn't involved, but I am guessing it was and contributed. The guy that left him out there must feel awful

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 08:21 AM) J4L already rolling out the "LeBron has/had no chance because of Golden State's depth" line. Well, maybe that will be the spin from his camp, but will history tell this time period as the torch passing from LeBron to a new generation of "drive, dish or shoot" assassins whose accuracy and teamwork/passing from the outside is going to force the 3 point line to be moved back again in order to balance things out once more (increased focus on defense, traditional block and rebound centers, more driving to the basket and drawing fouls, less European)...??? He actually didn't say they don't have a chance, he said they must win game 2 in order to have a chance

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 04:46 PM) In over 700 at bats, Jason Bourgeois has never hit a lick in the majors. He's been awful. But he has a key trait that this front office highly values, and which the others don't have: he's 34 and has played in 7 major league seasons. You should get some cheese for that whine, since you have it so much

QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 09:14 AM) So I have been looking into these and they seem to have good reviews everywhere. Only $320 for smoker and grill is a great price. There were a lot of reviews on amazon and they gave it 4 1/2 stars and most people gushed over how much they love the thing. I think I may just buy one. They looked like the big green egg, just red

I think you might be able to go to the IDOT website and get it taken care of without the email. You have a month after it expires though

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) You're not jumping to conclusions, but have concluded they're doing reshoots to include a character? I didn't say that, Joshua Strong said that. I just responded to it QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 03:15 PM) Reshoots happen in any movie with a budget to back it. Mad Max Fury Road had some of the most extensive reshoots in history. That turned out okay. There isn't much correlation between reshoots and quality of the film. When the reshoots are announced with the tag a long story, changing the tone of a movie, that is when I get concerned. You have to wonder what they don't like about the current movie

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 02:02 PM) Looking at his batted ball stats, literally every stat is trending down since 2014. He pulls the ball nearly 7% less, his soft contact rate is 6% higher and his HR/FB rate is almost 17% lower. He just doesn't have any bat speed these days. Well he must be done, his first two seasons mean nothing and he should be traded. Good players clearly do not have bad months or even bad seasons -
QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 02:00 PM) So...interference. I'm watching on mute- I'm assuming chimpy is being kicked out? Good. Yep

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 01:47 PM) "Tonally off" is the only pertinent quote from that article. I'd guess it's a little too dark. We don't have any info about the Solo role in the movie. You're jumping to conclusions based on speculation. It's hard to take that seriously. I'm not jumping to any conclusions, all I'm saying is I think shoehorning Solo into this movie during reshoots is stupid. The end

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 12:51 PM) Multiple outlets saying the same thing. I hate that guy. Rosenthal or Byrd?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 12:31 PM) So Byrd should lose an entire season, right? I believe rosenthal speculated 162 games

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 12:12 PM) Asking where the ignore button is is trolling or accusing someone of trolling. It's complete garbage. People ask that question all the time, it isn't accusing someone of trolling. It is saying "I'm sick of listening to this guy anymore someone show me how to stop" You don't have to be the board trolling afficianado, we got it
