QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 12:45 AM) I guess you hated the comic too, because the film is the perfect adaptation, although he had to change the ending to fit the medium. It's panel to panel, bubble to bubble, the comic. lol

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 03:28 PM) It leaked and its just as over the top crass and brutal as you'd hope, expectations have been raised. Definitely gonna carry an R rating and not a cheap one at that. Yea I saw it shortly after I posted this, it looks awesome QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 03:30 PM) Oh and god bless TJ Miller. Agreed

The Deadpool trailer brought the house down at Comic-con, can't wait for that trailer to drop Also, suicide squad trailer (not official, shot by a fan) looks ok, but nothing I would run to the theater to see. I really don't like how Killer Croc looks

Well, it's that time of year again....2015 edition

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:42 AM) On one hand, it's the Twins who are 5.5 games ahead of us. On the other, there are about 8 other teams in the race as well (in some ways, the Cubs probably have the same hesitancy about "going for it" this year as we have about trading Shark when the team's finally going on another hot streak). Was listening on the way back from the game Thursday afternoon....B&B Show quoted that something like only 6 out of 944 or 946 teams in the history of MLB have made the playoffs with a record of 5 games under .500 or below on July 9th. So, you have the possibility of sneaking into the last WC spot and getting Chris Sale a start...or sitting on Samardzija until July 31st and hoping his value continues to increase as his ERA comes down into the 3's and he's had a stretch of almost 10 starts with an ERA in the 2's, and pitching deep into games. Certainly, playing the Royals coming out of the ASB will be huge. With Gordon out, Buxton out, Cabrera out...there's an opening to make up some ground. Sooner or later, they'll have to beat some AL Central teams head-to-head or fold. I heard that too, but you have to think a second wild card changes that -
GT: White Sox (40-44) vs. Scrubs (46-39) [3:05CT / 4:05ET]

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 04:06 PM) Any obvious trading partners for Melky? Or is he untradeable like Dunn was? Yea the Sox don't need a guy hitting .350 for the last month. Get him out of here -
QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 03:19 PM) somehow this little fact is a bit skewed. ref to the 3 cups, not when this team can do more. pro's will want to get that one more, as the fans want that one cup. btw, how come you don't answer the question on whether you like this trade or not. The trade is fine, it frees up money to make more moves. Of course Sharp would be missed but he has been relatively invisible in the playoffs the past few years. The Hawks will be ok without him. Again, it is totally irrelevant to this discussion because you are basing your anger at this trade on your dislike for Bowman, which is ludicrous. If any other GM in Chicago won three championships in 6 years and was a perennial contender every season in between would be a god in the town, but you are like "no, not good enough. He hasn't shown me enough" And please tell me how that fact is skewed

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 03:19 PM) Just say he's the richest sports figure in Chicago. Big first inning for Sale. It's obvious Lester has nothing today. His ball isn't popping at all. Hopefully Sale is Sale again today! Are you aware of a sport called basketball? -

QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:56 AM) no i disagree on this, b/c it is one thing to like the trade and defend it. it is also another to pick a situation to make it personal. i can see that trades were needed. i even stated that. i also stated that i was not a big fan but i would see how he does, as a gm, to this off season. this was stated in around draft day. i still haven't change my opinion. i also believe i stated that so far out of 3 things that needed to be address, he has failed in 2 and the success of the hawks will judge the 3rd point. ref to tallon, yes it has been 5 yrs since he is gone. but the main core are what he assembled and it is this core that the hawks will continue to win if the right pieces are added. it is when, my dislike for bowman or should i say people over estimation of him, is not being added when i am saying bowman is not helping. now, there is some rumors of crawford and team inquiring about him....... well i will not believe that until something more concrete comes to a head. but i really hope that is not that case. again, let me also state that i was willing to see how bowman get out of this situation of salary cap, players and asking for too much leading up to the draft. i even posted that statement here on this site. now look at this, this way, do you have confidence in bowman to fix this???? the org traded 4-5 dman. players who could have moved in the lineup and also help the salary. bowman screwed up Yea, three cups is quite the screw up. And I'm sorry you made the situation personal with Bowman, but that is your unfounded gripe, not mine. Do you seriously read what you are writing? You are acting like 3 cups isn't good enough, Bowman has more to prove to everyone, and then you throw in daddy pot shots every chance you get and bring up Tallon like he didn't leave the Hawks in cap hell, thus needing the Bowmans to step in and clean up his mess. I don't know what other success the Hawks need for you to judge.

QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:26 AM) do you follow hockey??? so are you happy with this trade??? simple questions. now for the last statement, there comes a time when the hockey gods shine on your team it happen, esp with the main core players who the hawks drafted. then add the 2 special key players, toews and kane and you get the success of the hawks. that same recipe does not happen all the time. the talent pool the hawks had is really diminishing, esp in one area.... d-man. how many draft picks and d-man has bowman traded. this chain of events is a knee jerk overreaction being done by bowman. yes i will mention this, b/c no one has, the hawks, basing on age of key players, the end of the contracts, will only have several more yrs of being able to win the cup. i know that and i was hoping that there will be a subtle transition of players to continue the winning. bowman jr got the gm job, b/c of sr and he had no record to prove that he deserved it. the org was loaded with prospects and picks. so again, are you happy with this trade??? My happiness with this trade is completely irrelevant to the need for the trade, something you completely overlook when you are ripping Bowman for winning cups. Tallon has been gone for 5 years now, it's time to accept the fact that his fingerprints on the current team and previous cup winning team are faded.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 09:43 AM) wasn't there a double header in there somewhere? Looks like the first one listed

QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 08:07 AM) i remember when tallon was the gm, talk was swirling of bowman advancing in the ranks. according the some new source back then bowman sr and jr were constantly talking with sr doing most of the talking, esp at practices. now, again among the fans, when tallon was let go and bowman jr took over, they are talks that sr was helping jr. now back to what i wrote, i mentioned on the other nhl thread that was put away, this off season will show me, what kind of gm bowman is really and i will be snarky and say, i guess he is not getting any real time info from daddy. Who cares if Sr was helping Jr? The goal is to win cups, and continue winning cups. Your ax to grind with Bowman is ridiculous and given that the Hawks just won a third cup in 6 years, extremely poorly timed. What would you have him do different? All of your complaints are based on conjecture from rumored deals and maybe these people said something one time and oh my god Dale Tallon. If Tallon is so great and the Hawks miss him so much, why aren't the Panthers a perennial contender?

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 04:48 PM) @mccrabb_will : Chris Nolan has finished the development phase of his next movie, an original project. https://twitter.com/mccrabb_will/status/619...0735739904?s=09 I don't really see Nolan doing anything but original projects going forward. I think Batman was his lone foray into someone else's work

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 05:03 PM) Rodon- 57 strikes, 47 balls... jeez I think zero runs is the most important number, considering that nasty blister -
Hardy gets his suspension reduced from 10 to 4 games. The NFL's suspension system is soooooo f***ed up
-
QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 12:33 PM) i am not disputing the logic. i am trying to think that the pen would become more important in the playoff. that is why a great pen would help out much more, esp when the team goes on the short rotation. i will still keep Rodon in the starting rotation. no team will play minimum games in the playoff. They dont have to play minimum games to keep a 3 man rotation. Days off allow for the top three to stay on schedule And the pen doesnt have to be more important if Sale/Samardzija/Quintana are going 7+ innings, they just have to do their jobs

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 12:00 PM) Gillaspie can hit, though he can't play defense. However, Bonifacio can't do either. Gillaspie should stay. Bonifacio should be released. Bonifacio plays multiple positions(not all that great, i understand), conor plays one, and not well at all. IMO Conor goes first
