  1. Sharknado 3 tonite. Set your VCRs
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 11:43 AM) Hurt 2 years in a row not good. And still manages to be a good offensive player. Can only imagine what he will look like if healthy
  3. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 03:36 PM) Rodon, don't walk anyone. hopefully the all star break plus a few days gave Rodon some time to heal that blister
  4. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 12:53 PM) I'd much rather surround Tyler with a good offense. Much like the Tigers have done with Avila. I'd love to have a great catcher but there's just not many great ones around. Avila is pretty good when he is healthy, he just hasnt been healthy since pretty much the start
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 12:29 PM) Mike Matheny didn't have any experience. He also was handed a world series team. And gets a lot of s*** for making many bizarre decisions
  6. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 11:32 AM) If you want a really funny vampire movie watch What We Do in the Shadows. the nightfall showdown with the werewolves is hilarious. DONT BE A SWEARWOLF
  7. QUOTE (RaySox @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 11:39 AM) Seems like there are a few great catchers in the majors, and then some serviceable catchers, and then White Sox catchers. Anything we get has to be an improvement. iirc the White Sox catchers fall into the serviceable category. Its just a position that doesnt have a lot of good to great players
  8. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 06:22 PM) But signing him long term ties you to a fly ball pitcher who's already 30. Trading Q will get more because he's better, younger, and has a better contract. It doesnt tie you to anything, the Sox can still take the pick Samardzija and deal Quintana.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 10:19 AM) What about Let the Right One In, the Swedish film? Warm Bodies was pretty clever, fwiw. A little of Rob Corddry goes a long ways, though. I even had to watch two Kevin Hart films because it was a 15 hour flight and was running out of options...Get Hard and Wedding Ringers. He'e definitely getting overexposed. The best was Her Granddaughter, a Japanese film, and Red Army, a documentary about the Russian state hockey machine in the 70's and 80's starring Slava Fetisov and Scotty Bowman. It was also a zombie movie, not vampire
  10. I really think it comes down to versatility. Conor has none, and was the first pinched when it came time to pare off the roster. Beckham and Bonifacio may have survived here, but I don't think Hahn will stress over cutting one if a better option comes back in a trade
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) Just another example of modern baseball, teams spending zillions of dollars for no reason. So they sign Shields and two months after having him need to get rid of him. Baseball is run by a bunch of morons, but nobody seems to agree with me. It's going to be the same whomever signs Shark next year for 20 mill a year. Shortly after signing him, we'll be hearing about the team being stuck with him. Hilarious. Look at all of those moron billionaires owning teams and moron millionaires running teams and moron millionaires playing the game. Those guys dont know how to do anything
  12. QUOTE (shysocks @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) Since I changed my avatar in celebration of the Tyler Flowers Annual Hot Streak, his wRC+ is 36. BACK TO BELISARIO
  13. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 12:45 PM) I don't know, I'd much rather have Q long term than Shark. Q will get you more, unfortunately
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 12:06 PM) Rockets acquire Ty Lawson from Denver for feces and a draft pick. This is a steal for Houston. How do these western conference teams pull off these heists? http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2015/07/19/r...ls=iref:nbahpts Lawson is toxic right now, you know that. Denver just wanted him gone
  15. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 08:20 AM) Maybe that's what people prefer. Slick professionalism. I'd rather hear Farmio talk about his neighborhood exploits in E.G. and DJ's backhanded complements of everyone on the team. Yea I love when Farmer talks about everything but the game and forces me to check my phone after 3 innings of not mentioning the score. I love it even more when he incessantly calls for homers, or makes (bad) inside jokes that nobody, even DJ, understands. You may be right, it seems like I want professionalism in a vocation that requires it.
  16. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 08:11 AM) I have no problem with Farmio and DJ. Much better than the homer-for-hire John Rooney. Those two dont belong in the same room as Rooney when it comes to talent. He is better than both of them combined
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 11:54 PM) Carlos Quentin also struggled with the same foot ailment....and it really sucks, the foot version of an oblique. I dunno, from everything I have read about PF it seems like an athlete would rather deal with an oblique
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 06:46 AM) To let the pitchers know it was their turn for Tommy John? I wish it was Tommy John, but Nardi's pitchers all lost their labrums and there was pretty much no coming back. At least tommy john gave you a chance
  19. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 10:22 AM) the bottom line is the unknown factor. conor's personality...... while there is no publish rpt, many can see how difficult of a person he was around the dugout and his interaction with other players. i bet with his slump, that didn't help matters. So there is no published report of anything remotely close to pointing to this being true, but you are going to say that it had something to do with him getting DFAed. Ok then
  20. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 06:50 PM) I saw a Tigers fan bring this incident up (good summary: Sale/Tigers Incident 2014). It made me realize that we never really did get much information about this. What we know is that Sale and Garcia thought that somebody in CF was tipping signs to Tigers hitters. Sale then hit Victor Martinez, and the benches cleared. Sale made a "binoculars" gesture in the dugout, and Ian Kinsler and the Tigers proceeded to mock that gesture throughout the game. Even after the game, not much was revealed about the incident. This is from an article published yesterday: So I guess my question is, what was really going on that day? I looked at the Soxtalk archives, and even the game thread didn't have much to say about it. Victor destroys Chris, and a few times it was intimated that they were stealing signs from the outfield
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 11:37 PM) You could be right, but I see Saladino being sent down. Conor was a golden boy entering this season. He was supposed to be OUTSTANDING for us this season. Can't see them pulling the plug. You are just making stuff up
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:46 PM) https://www.bsh-group.com/laender/us/ According to the site, the home appliance company is headquartered in Irvine. I presume Mount Prospect is another division (not appliances)? Maybe it is simply different companies, Robert Bosch tools is in Mt Prospect.
  23. I like when you come up with a crazy trade and people react "REALLY OMG" like it wasn't a crazy trade and you were being realistic
  24. anyone else getting twitter trolled by the KC fan @disgustedNYer ? Apparently this douche looked up anyone who has hashtagged the white sox and is in troll mode, me and raBBit have been having a little fun with him
  25. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) Plus, you all support my city since Bosch Appliances Corp is headquartered in Irvine, CA. huh, I thought the building in Mount Prospect was the headquarters
