  1. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:50 AM) Like JR has said in the past, he's only ever had one player who was untouchable and he played basketball. Rick actually referenced that on Mully and Hanley, said something like "As Jerry said, the only untouchable player under him wore #23, and I am pretty sure that isnt Robin"

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:46 AM) Maybe, depends on how well it was played. I think Oscar Isaac is a pretty good actor. Lot's of characters have looked different on screen. Sometimes the comic book aspect doesn't carry over well to a real life setting. Maybe they thought a giant mutant with blue lips would look silly. Just like they didn't make Bane 7ft tall and weigh 350 pounds. Wearing a Lucha libre looking mask. Cause it would look silly. Thanos is a character that from what i've seen they have kept totally true to the comic and to be honest it looked a little goofy. Very CGI and you can tell. This is also two pictures. I've seen people say this movie is going to be bad. From seeing two pictures! The previous two X-Men movies were really good, no reason to think this one is suddenly going to be horrible. Come on now, they could do Nightcrawler true to life, The Blob (XMen Origins: Wolverine) true to life, they did CGI teeth on Beast in the past two X Men movies, but they think that Apocalype needs to be realistic? That is absurd
  3. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 09:17 AM) They claim it costs way more to execute someone than it does to imprison them for life. Hopefully he just gets a life sentence and an another inmate pulls a Chris Scarver on him. I am all for just dropping him off in death valley in his underwear in the middle of the summer
  4. I dont hope this guy rots in our penitentiary system for 60 years. Nobody should have their tax dollars go to supporting this low life
  5. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 06:27 AM) You should explain yourself . Last time Sale pitched was July 11th. Today is the 17th . Sale could pitch today with plenty of rest and certainly should pitch in the series if he is feeling 100%. I understand there have been times when the Sox gave Sale extra rest but is now the time to do it ? If management thinks it is the time then what is that telling the team and the fans about what they think their chances are of getting back into the race. Yes ,many of us think with the hitting the way it is the Sox don't have a prayer of getting back into it but management should not take that position just yet. IF they do they might as well trade Shark ASAP unless they know something we don't about their chances of resigning him. Management should be in "go for it" mode right now . They really only have to be in that mode for the 1st 3 series of the 2nd half and if after that they decide it's over Sale can get plenty of rest after those 3 series. Every season he has been with the Sox he has taken extended rest due to arm soreness, usually around may or june. But this season, the start of his season was pushed back due to his ST foot injury. I dont like this, I want him to start, but this has happened every season and if there is and hint that he has discomfort I am ok with them holding him out for a little while.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 05:03 PM) why does it seem like weve seen that villain before? I think he reminds me too much of Ronan. Yea, that is a very good observation

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 04:37 PM) Yeah, It does look different. Maybe they didn't want to do a big 9ft CGI monster looking Apocalypse. Have to wait and see with the trailer. If you don't want to do a character the way he looks, why do it? If darkseid showed up in superman and looked like that, I would expect you would be disappointed

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 04:27 PM) The cover of EW photo looks much better. This photo here has a lot of purple. Maybe it's just bad lighting. Meh, still isn't him

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) I have to imagine there will be a lot of CGI involved to pull off Apocalypse. He needs to be about 9 feet tall. I hope so, but I don't see any cgi dots on his body or face in those pics

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 03:21 PM) I had to do a GIS for that second pic. Had no idea who it was. I know that picture because I have a 5 year old son, and stepbrother 9 years younger than me., lol. For anyone wondering, that is the bad guy in Power Rangers: The Movie And here is the real thing
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 02:25 PM) Great article. I don't understand why Sale wouldn't pitch this series. When are the writers going to tell us what is going on with the babying of Sale? Is this the Sox's chance to give him a long extended break during the season just to re-energize him after a lot of innings? Or is something bothering Sale? Otherwise it makes absolutely no sense for him to skip the entire Royals series. Its like you never paid attention to any time Chris Sale has been a member of the White Sox

Lmao Apocalypse looks like s*** This: Reminds me of this:
  13. Schwarber getting called up because Chris Sale destroyed Miguel Montero's thumb
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) But of course Pedro NEVER used PEDs, right Pedro? Everyone in that timeframe will have those questions hanging over their heads.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 11:56 AM) Agreed! Not a fan..he rarely changes his tone of voice so you have no idea what is actually going on. the tone of voice doesnt bother me as much as him missing crucial plays or calls because he is trying to make inside jokes with DJ. And he calls for a homerun pretty much every other batter, and that is no exaggeration

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) Jeff Bridges is almost becoming a caricature of himself. Yea, that was absolutely a paycheck movie where they asked him to play a variation of his cowboy character that has popped up in a few films

19 Kids and Counting finally cancelled by TLC
  18. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 11:40 AM) Keep Stone and put Farmer in the booth with him. I really enjoyed listening to them on the radio when they were together. I'm fine with DJ but have no idea who to pair him up with. Call me crazy but I would like to see Pierzynski get into broadcasting for the Sox when his career is over. I dont ever want Farmer on TV. Ever.
  19. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 11:21 AM) Apparently I am going to be Scott Steiners driver next weekend. Picking him up at the airport Friday, Fort Wayne Saturday, Valpo Sunday. I am both stoked and terrified at the same damn time. dont bring up hogan
  20. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 08:49 AM) Wow that was quite a read. How the hell does he still have a job. Yikes. Padres have been a mess for a while, Preller is one in a line of bad moves for them

  22. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 10:30 PM) Donald Fehr is screaming in his grave Or he is screaming from his home, because he is isnt in his grave just yet
  23. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 03:08 PM) The guy who gave up 3 runs in 2/3 of an inning in the futures game? Cool. Oh should we base our opinions of him on an exhibition, or his actual season?
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 02:44 PM) Do you agree with that? Seems like mandatory deadspin contrarianism, in that they believe in something only in that it allows them to take the opposite stance of an espn article. It is standard, but I think a loan system in the MLB would carry a lot more impact and raise a lot more problems than the loan system in the Soccer leagues. I would be furious if Sale blew out his arm and all the sox got were some prospects for their troubles.
  25. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 02:20 PM) I'd be OK with all of this if the Sox got reprimanded or fined over this issue. And this exhibition game would be considered way more than that if the Sox made the WS. We'd get the first two games in the great city of Chicago not have to wait. please, greg. go to applebees or something
