January 7, 201610 yr What are your favorite movies of all time? List your top 15 (I imagine narrowing it down to ten would be too difficult for a lot of people) and if you want talk about why you enjoy them. Here's my list: 1. Citizen Kane 2. The Tree of Life 3. There Will Be Blood 10. Terminator 2 11. Blade Runner 12. Raiders of the Lost Ark 13. Alien 14. Heat 15. Collateral

January 7, 201610 yr Not to be a dick, but I think The Dark Knight Rises is a bad Batman movie and easily the worst one in the new trilogy.
January 7, 201610 yr QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 07:18 AM) Not to be a dick, but I think The Dark Knight Rises is a bad Batman movie and easily the worst one in the new trilogy. Really, "The Dark Knight" was the only GREAT film in the trilogy, however Batman Begins also gets high marks for changing the game when it comes to Batman film. That being said, the Arkham series of video games is arguably the best modern telling of a Batman story.
January 7, 201610 yr In no particular order..... Ferris Bueller's Day Off Blues Brothers Goodfellas Toy Story Blade Runner Raiders of the Lost Ark Blazing Saddles The Matrix Purple Rain Rocky Tron Escape from New York ***now that I got some sleep, I can't believe I left off Bull Durham and Tin Cup off my list. That's not being a dick, it's telling the truth. Rises is a terrible movie, and the more you watch it the more you realize it.
January 7, 201610 yr Now, for a few of my personal choices -- in no particular order. Tombstone Back to the Future Shawshank Redemption Goodfellas Rocky Inception Stand by Me The Color of Money The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly Pulp Fiction There are so many others, but I've not time to think of them at the moment.
January 7, 201610 yr My list is more of an enjoyment list than a "quality" list 1. Anchorman 2. Ace Ventura 1 3. The Natural 4.The Dark Knight 5. Army of Darkness 6. They Live 7. The Sixth Sense 8. And Now For Something Completely Different 9. Rocky IV 10. Star Wars IV 11. The Shining 12. Inception 13. The Matrix 14. Groundhog Day 15. Monty Python & The Holy Grail
January 7, 201610 yr I'd have a hard time even listing them, so I'll do a slightly modified list... really good movies that get better the more often you watch them (not in order, just what pops into my head)... Jaws The Hunt for Red October The first 95% of The Abyss (I'm still bitter he had a fantastic film and stabbed it in the back with the super-goofy ending scenes) Sneakers Memento The Game The original Indiana Jones movie Inside Man The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Again, that's just off the top of my head, and specifically movies that I appreciate more and more over time, which I think is a hallmark of a very good film. But I'm also sure that other titles are slipping my mind that are even better.

January 7, 201610 yr My two cents 1. Star Wars Trilogy - all three movies would be in my top 10, just easier to leave them as a package deal. 2. War of the Worlds - The original, not the steaming pile of feces with Cruise 3. Blazing Saddles 4. Hoosiers 5. Office Space 6. Clerks 7. Back to the Future 8. The Untouchables 9. The Godfather (1 and 2 are a package deal in my mind, and 3 doesn't exist) 10. White Men Can't Jump - Don't judge. I love the opening scene of the movie

I love the opening scene of the movie I honestly didn't think the Tom Cruise led War of the Worlds was all that bad -- as a matter of fact, I think it was pretty damn good.

January 7, 201610 yr Indy Jones (original trilogy) Lord of the Rings Star Wars Back to the Future Snatch Usual Suspects Lethal Weapon Die Hard Sandlot Under Siege (in my opinion an all time action classic) Original Terminator Saving Private Ryan Not a comprehensive list (and in no particular order), but all of the above are fantastic flicks and in almost all cases, movies that I'll watch any time they are on.

January 7, 201610 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 10:28 AM) The Rock True Lies Terminator 2 They don't make action movies like they used to Totally forgot about those two. Both epic movies. I think True Lies was one of the best movies ever back when the sound systems at the movies were going crazy (and people were getting into in home surround sound). I remember our old neighbor friends dad was a tecky and he had one of those laserdisc players and the biggest speakers I've ever seen. We'd go over to our friends house and watch true lies and would always be blown away. Under Siege to me, while absolutley hokie, was badass too. Chuck Norris, Segal, and Arnold were the kings of action. Closet thing in recent year is the Expendable series.
January 7, 201610 yr My favorite movies in no particular order. Taxi Driver Cool Hand Luke Midnight Cowboy Goodfellas A Clockwork Orange Bride Of Frankenstein Apocalypse Now Monterey Pop Fargo Dr. Strangelove The Lord of the Rings (all three) Pulp Fiction The Graduate Dances With Wolves Arsenic and Old Lace It's really hard to stop at 15. Most of these might be interchangeable with at least another 15. These are all movies I've watched a whole lot of times and enjoy every time.
