  4. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 07:33 PM) trolling in a game thread nice mod behavior. His behavior is fine
  5. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 07:18 PM) I love watching Q pitch for the most part he attacks and works quickly. Love how he pounds the zone with that 90-93mph fastball. Not a nibbler even though he doesn't rush it up there and he chances speeds well enough to make it seem quicker. His little rocker step hesitation I think really helps keep hitters off his fastball
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 06:14 PM) http://m.mlb.com/news/article/116840276/ti...emains-in-doubt verlander doubtful for sunday's game....will likely miss at least one start He was put on the 15 day retroactive to 3/29

it was the strangest thing to see him cuff the guy and tell him to put his hands behind his back. You know when he walked up to the guy he could see that he got him
  8. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 02:21 PM) some stuff will happen and when the stuff has happened we will say the Sox are good or the Sox are bad Wimpy, i love it when you analyze

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 02:17 PM) He had outstanding warrants for child support. I hadnt read that. What a terrible reason to die

i cant figure out why the guy ran. He was clearly running for his life before the cop started firing, its like he was told something bad was about to happen and panicked
  11. Apparently the plan is also to play Derrick tomorrow against Miami if tonite goes off without a hitch. That is somewhat surprising to me, i figured tomorrow was a guaranteed day of rest
  12. BUT LAWRIE IS GRINDY
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 10:43 AM) Depends what kind of spread of course. QB's like Big Ben were in a throwing spread vs an option attack. I saw what your buckeyes did to his speed, and i didnt like that at all. In fact, even though he threw for +300, i really didnt like anything i saw from him in the Championship game.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 10:09 AM) Every single college QB is a "system QB", people just tend to use that again spread ones because its easy. Spread offenses are so different from each other yet its all called a single term. Mariotta is a very good college QB, in fact probably the best one I saw all year. Will that translate? Who knows. I personally think its a combination of intelligence and ability to anticipate that is the most important factor in NFL success. The rest is just stuff for people to debate pre-draft. And because a large amount of Spread offense quarterbacks have failed at the NFL level. I understand Mariota was very good at Oregon, but he wouldnt be the first heisman winning QB that ran a spread offense and fell on his face in the NFL.
  15. plain old groomsmen have the best deal. Show up, party, take a few pictures, go home.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:30 AM) Funny us as Bears fans are critical of QB's succeeding in the NFL because of arm strength when we literally have the poster child QB for "arm strength isnt everything." Arm strength doesnt really bother me so much as the accuracy concerns, and the fact that he has the "system QB" stigma. Just as much as Jay is a poster child for "arm strength isnt everything", he is also a poster child for "accuracy is pretty important"
  17. Brooks is a backup for a reason. He just cant hang with other starters, he doesnt have the size. Once he slides back to his normal role, I wont loathe him so much anymore
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:09 AM) Rose playing. 20 min limit Even better news, HINRICH GAMETIME DECISION
  19. Kyyle23 replied to Brian's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 08:12 AM) The amount of time that takes place in between the victim turning around & running and the shots being fired is the worst part of that clip. That cop has several seconds to make a decision and still chose to fire multiple shots. Wow. Cheers to whoever filmed that video and stuck with it. I was very surprised that they never really noticed the guy filming it. The guy was pretty obvious too
  20. QUOTE (shysocks @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 08:08 AM) How does this blame manifest? there are so many ways. Threads, signatures, avatars. Watch your back, or you become tarred and feathered
  21. Lets just get the unofficial official gamethread superstitious rules out of the way now: If you start a game thread and the Sox win, you get to continue to make the game threads until the Sox lose. If the Sox lose, let someone else make it. If you forget to make one the next day, and it isnt done within an hour or two of gametime, squatters rights are lost. If the Sox lose this game that you forgot to make a gamethread, you are banned forever and the rest of the Sox season will be blamed on you. the end
  22. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 05:11 PM) I should have clarified. Not arm strength specifically but NFL arm in general in regards to release and accuracy. Both Greg Gabrielle and Hub Arkush have both said this. And they claim to be hearing it from the majority of the people they know on the inside too. Mind you Hub and Greg have been wrong on plenty of things to but I still respect their opinions and their insider info. No, you were right the first time. Greg Gabriel said he is pretty bad when it comes to passes 20+ yards, and in the next level he will be exposed
  23. If I am moving up to 2 and making the pick, im not getting a guy who -might- be a decent to good QB. If you are drafting that high you better damn well get an instant impact starter. And I wouldnt be opposed to trading down for multiple picks either.
  24. i would take the 2 pick, draft Leonard Williams and figure out the QB position later.
  25. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 01:52 PM) Most of these players went through the US public schools where everything is pussified. Everyone is suppose to win and we can't celebrate success. LMAO WHAT IS THIS
