  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 11:29 PM) Thanks, dick. I really don't know how the decisions go with regards to IP and ER. i thought you were really asking myself. it's not really a funny joke if that's what you were going for. it's cool if you don't know.
  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 11:21 PM) Didn't see B-Mac's performance in Charlotte tonight did you. did he take a big dump?
  3. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) REALLY?!? LH pitcher who can thorw 96 Has 25 SO in 22 inning and a 2.42 era Solid set-up man. 9 holds So who takes his place, eh? Since you are so happy he's gone. I think you should re-think you're statement about one of your players getting hurt. please do not get me started on damaso marte. he is the a-rod of relief pitchers. has great numbers every year, but he is complete crap when a game is on the line more often than not. i can give a crap when he fans the side against the royals in mid-july. i don't care how hard he throws. holds might be one of the most meaningless stats going. find his stats in one-run games and tied games and find his stats for when it comes to inherited runners scored. i bet you'll change your mind. and who takes his place? i'd take cotts over marte any day of the week. dl marte, call up mccarthy, and let him be the long man, just like buehrle was when he broke in. great, you got me started lol
  4. QUOTE(OilCan @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) CHICAGO PITCHER DAMASO MARTE LEFT THE GAME IN THE BOTTOM OF THE SEVENTH INNING WITH A SORE LEFT BICEP. THERE IS A GOD!!!!
  5. the worst part of this news is i have urbina on my al-only roto team at 7 units. c-suckers!!!!
  6. Who is your daddy, and what does he do? or What is your favorite movie of all time? (seriously, we can't just inundate him with baseball strategy questions. mix it up. find out if the kid watches movies.)
  7. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) I didn't mean to sound critical. not at all. i just don't want you fine folks thinking i spent weeks coming up with those. and for the record, jermaine dye is my fave
  8. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) I don't get the Garland one. I could understand it if his name was "Garnish". It seems Jon "Christmas" Garland would work better. you're completely right. but cut me some slack. i threw those together in about four minutes out of sheer boredom.
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) Edgar "Diarrhea/Gonorrhea" Renteria i always liked Edgar "I don't practice" Renteria and Bronson "Hello, Hello, I'm at a place called" Arroyo
  10. man, i thought this thread would have died an hour ago. but to respond: i choose BUSINESS ETHICS. yes, i did have some free time today. A.J. was a character on the hit ABC sitcom, Step by Step. Clearly not funny. they all weren't meant to be funny. there's only so many that can truly be funny. i was trying to amuse, as opposed to debating the merits between frank thomas and joe randa. and feel free to come up with your own. berman is a millionaire, and he never once used orel "sex" hersheiser or richie "anal" sexson. oh, the avatar -- i found it on some other message board a friend posts on, and stole it.

  12. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Umm Jeff DaVanon really isn't that much of a threat- im sure the Angels would be glad to replace him for the Big Hurt. ummmm, jeff davanon has 106 at-bats, most of which have come with vlad out. the angels don't need frank. and why in the hell would we help a team we are competing with for the playoffs and could meet in the playoffs? this thread officially makes no sense.
  13. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) The Anahiem Angels desperatly want a DH, and their owners are not afraid of spending money. who is frank going to replace as dh in that lineup?
  14. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 09:26 AM) Which would you rather have? An 8 gm lead on the Twins now with little playing time for your bench or a 4 gm lead where even your backup C Widger has seen action in about a 3rd of the games? are you drunk? do you really think chris widger's playing time is more important than having an eight-game lead in june? i'm pretty sure the yankees of the late '90s weren't winning titles because they got luis sojo steady at-bats.
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) good idea for a poll, but think of a team that will pick up the hurt's 12 million dollar option when he is traded, and then I will vote. exactly. he would have to go an AL team that can afford him that needs a DH only. who is that team?
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:07 PM) Really? How many games have we lost because of it? just because we haven't lost EVERY time he's gone to Marte in the ninth doesn't make it right. but off the top of my head, he left garland in too long against the rangers, took mccarthy out too early against the cubs, really screwed the pooch with buerhle in the ninth inning on memorial day, brought in walker two days later in a one-run game, and this is all in the last week. i'd say he lost us about 10-15 games last year with his pitching management.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) This is the most simple and absolutely true answer that you will ever recieve. They have to play two national anthems, American and Canadian. Hence the extra 2 minutes. wow. genius. thanks. but i think they must just switched this year to the 7s for their official start times, because they've never been listed like this until this year. still, a fantastic answer. thanks!!!
  18. My bold prediction: If the Sox win today, they will be six games up on the Twins on Tuesday morning. Book it.
  19. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) because they're canadian no explanation needed. oh, i should have mentioned that i've been searching for this answer for two months, and i've heard and read every "funny" response to this question. help a brother out!!!
  20. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) Is putting kevin walker a rookie in a 1 run game giving him a chance to succeed exactly. ozzie is terrible at managing the bullpen. hence, the laughter.
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) Why? Name a pitcher that Ozzie hasn't give a chance to succeed? I wasn't so much laughing at that part. It was more of the "it's easy to manage this pitching staff" part that made me chuckle.
  22. All Blue Jays games start on the 7s. 1:07, 1:37, 7:07, etc. Why? Please someone tell me why. I'm two months in, and no has this answer. What is the signifigance?
  23. "Managing this pitching staff is easy because everyone knows their role, and they know I try to give them the best opportunity to succeed,'' Guillen said. Discuss.
