Flubbies @ White Sox Game Thread
i would have gone politte in the 7th, and hermanson in the 8th assuming we were still trailing. hermanson gets no work unless it's save opp. he could have used it today.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 04:55 PM) I completely disagree. You pull Contreras before this game gets out of hand. We can still win this game if we're 3 down at this point. However, if the Cubs get a few more runs cause Ozzie left Contreras and his WHIP of about 25 today on the mound too long, then that's bad managing. he's let up one run since the first. you really want to go to one of our top relievers down 3 in the sixth? otherwise, you're putting in takatsu or vizcaino, and i'd rather have contreras than them.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) PULL CONTRERAS! I know Ozzie loves to leave his pitchers in for at least 6 innings no matter what, but it's painfully obvious that Contreras has nothing today. it's his last inning. better to use contreras for the sixth at this point than start using the bullpen.

contreras got rocked two starts ago. and the inning to get to maddux is the first. a nice two-spot would be nice.

Who is the White Sox best offensive player?
I remember back in April-May I had no doubt in my mind it was Tad Iguchi. Now, I'm not sure. Everyone has there own thing -- Pods has speed, Paulie has power, Tad's got a nice average, Aaron is mighty clutch. I'm not really sure which one is the most valuable. In the words of Tony Kornheiser, WHO YOU GOT?

Relief Help on the way?
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) His observation was that it looked like 325 innings pitched. Because the 2 in 2/3 did not have a space in front of it. Lousy observation on his part. jesus. you're some tight-ass mothers on here. i'll try and elevate my comedic posts to the levels of simply leaving smilies.

Sox hating ESPN
QUOTE(Yossarian @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) I'm not aware of how much each team is making or losing. If what you say is correct then Devil Ray fans have no hope. Why the hell would Naimoli and his new partner (can't remember his name) spent any dough to build a ball club if as you say they are the second most profitable? I know Steinbrenner said that the have nots of baseball would not take their luxury tax money and spend it on player development and it seems he was right. Kevin McClatchy of Pittsburgh has been criticized for using it to prop up his bottom line. I think this is #500 for me. That's a lot less than some people here but how bout a small prize? A sucker or a hershey bar maybe? all of this because dontrelle willis got some pub on ESPNfreaking.com. people, let it go. it's not worth it. step away from the keyboard.

Sox Looking at Ted Lilly
Lilly started the season on the DL with a shoulder dealie. he's a darn good pitcher. definitely an upgrade over el duque, IMHO. his last three starts have been pretty good, and they've been against good lineups. But again, a starter isn't needed. there's nothing wrong with BMac taking his lumps as long as the lead in the central stays in this neighborhood. and as deniro said in midnight run, "that's a pretty respectable neighborhood."
