Grab some bench. That's a hang wif um. Can of corn. Rack 'em up! Duck snort. I tell ya, Buehrle showed some stones out there tonight. C'mon Paulie Boy...zone him in, reel him in, and light him up. It's like I always say D.J. You're gonna win 60 games, and you're gonna lose 60 games. It's what you do with those other 42 that makes the difference. Stay fair! (pause) It will. Juanito has a gun for an arm. Ball four base hit. Aaron. AARon! AARONNNNNN!!!! Ozzieball--It's an attitude. This team has balance. We haven't had that in the past couple years. C'mon Timo!!! C'MON TIMO!!! C'MON TIMO! HERE'S THE THROW......SAFE!!!! High and deep to left field...GET UP! STRETCH!!! Stewart goes back, looks up...you CAN put it ON THE BOAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRD! YEEESSSSSSSSS!!! Who I Want to Meet: A good caddie, less spinmeisters and more Friendsters like yourself. My first name is Hawk, last name Harrelson. I love e-mail.
  2. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 11:33 AM) quite possibly the most random thing I have read on this site in over 10 days. A friend request, how strange. lol on the site, you can be friends with anything. it's hilarious. for instance, i am friends with the white sox. a friend of mine is friends with YANKEES SUCK. you can become friends with cities. but the hawk one is too funny. his likes include, "yelling stretch! stretch!"
  3. Now, I know this is a completely oddball question, but are any of you on friendster? if so, are any of you the fake profile of Hawk Harrelson or know the person who is the pretend Hawk? if so, can you go and accept my friend request already? i sent it about six weeks ago, and he hasn't logged back on since early April. it is perhaps the funniest profile i've ever read, and i want to be his friend. thank you, and have a nice day.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) After today's game Buehrle's ERA is down to 2.48 compared to Halladay's 3.53. However Halladay is pitching tonight verse the Orioles so before you say anything you have to wait until after Halladay's start. Also Halladay still has the edge on Buehlre in: WHIP IP Ks Wins OBA and less run support i was all ready to take a hot smash on this argument until i realized halladay's era is 2.53, not 3.53. it's a tossup.

    wow

    Ohhhh, look at me, I love everyone here. Could this guy be a bigger prick?
  6. QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) I think the best match-up for us would be the Orioles. The worst is the Angels. That team scares the hell out of me. Scoscia would destroy Ozzie. I think he's the best manager in baseball. Part of me would really like to see the Sox play the Yanks in the playoffs, even though if they make it they will be very dangerous. I want to play the best and I just hate the Yankees so much, I would love to play and hopefully beat them in the playoffs. i get to watch the yankees every day out here. they are probably the 7th best team in the AL. beating them most definitely wouldn't be beating the best. i agree with the rest. the angels would be best matchup, the angels, the worst.
  7. come playoff time, which is what were are looking at, you only need four starters. jason schmidt is overkill. to be perfectly honest, i can't name one person or type of person we ABSOLUTELY have to have.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 11:13 PM) Pure speculation on the wrighters part. I don't want him anyway, he's overpriced both contract wise and prospect wise. Why should we go after a guy who is already struggling and hope that he turns it around for us. OFs and SPs, the two things we don't need at all. I want two relievers. But I'll take one.
  9. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:38 PM) yeah my mindset has also changed towards that, i at least want garland to make it because im sure he wants to the one guy i'm pulling for is konerko, just so i can get a slew of apologies from those of you on soxtalk. you know who you are!
  10. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) It's all good, I found my Sox pride wrist band that I lost and they've won 5 straight when I wear it. nice. wear that thing to bed and in the shower.
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) Yes, we'll remember that when we're playing the games. hey, that guy has a great point. they don't give out s*** for being 10 games up in june. well, perhaps threads on fansites. but that's it.
  12. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) Magic # is shrinking 2 by the day and it's amazing. :headbang :headbang :headbang :headbang :headbang i just noticed -- you've been at nearly a third of the sox's losses. stop going!!!! lol
  13. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) Baltimore with their overall weak pitching, but I'd be terrified of that offense. I guess the Twins....LOL if they make the WC. They seem to be down to earth in offense, and their pitching and ours are similar(though they have the better bullpen) they can't get the twins in the ALDS, unfortunately.
  14. Nine games up in late June. Sure, it's way too early to be discussing this, but which AL team would you ideally like to face in the ALDS? For me, I'd like to get the Orioles. I feel they are the weakest of all the contenders. Thoughts?
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) I remember that as a kid in the 80's as well. "M-I-C...." And DEFINATLELY better than when they started doing YMCA :puke runaround sue is a great choice. having never been to chicago, i've never seen it in that context. but i always picture little big league when i hear it (yeah, yeah, a f***ing twins movie. but hey, they did lose in the end!) you should get "center field" on that disc my man.
  16. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) I still think right now it's Halladay, Rogers, Buehrle, and Garland in the AL Martinez, Willis, Peavy, and Carpenter in the NL. EDIT:Also Clemens in the NL(how could I forget him??????) unfortunately, wins, the most overrated stat in baseball, play a big factor. if buerhle keeps getting no-decisions, finishes with 15 wins, he won't get it. if garland keeps winning and has a sub-3.50 ERA, it should be his, because i don't think the jays are gonna win enough games for halladay.
  17. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) Yes. just wondering
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) Yeah, but there are some people we should beat who somehow always seem to rise to the occasion against us. Some of that can't just be the starter having a good game. Some of that has to be our hitters making it easy for the starter to have a good game...taking strikes, swinging at balls, etc. i agree our so-so hitting is to blame a lot, but greinke's good, despite what his ERA and almighty WHIP show.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 07:33 PM) Is he pitching well or are our hitters being morons again and swinging at everything? i've noticed on this board that unless you're colon or santana, it's impossible for a starter to ever have a good game against us. it's ALWAYS our hitters.
  20. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 07:26 PM) Alright Jonny, 0.50 WHIP through 2... keep it up. steve, solid avatar. love that show. and do you have garland in a fantasy league or something?
  21. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) It's clear as day that ESPN has their favorites: AL: Yankees, RedSox NL: Dodgers, Cubs - They enjoy talking about these teams. The rest of the coverage is because they have to. they are a national network. those are four biggest teams in the major markets. and i think people care more about the cubs nationally than they do the white sox. it's pointless to get upset about this, just like white sox attendance.
  22. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) People will though thats the point. no, they won't.
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) Shouldnt have been standing there it is awesome, but what's the guy running looking at? how does he miss her?
  24. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) In 93 and 94, the Sox couldnt lose either. This guy is a tool. this guy used to be a columnist at a paper i used to work at. you can't take anything he says seriously. he doesn't really go anywhere. he just writes columns off his couch. i doubt he's seen a white sox game in person this century.
