If he is someone Sox are giving a multi-year deal then the SOX are in HUGE trouble down the line, JG will never be better than a #3 at best, he is not worth the investment. I have to disagree with you, who do you think the Sox should make offers to besides Buehrle? They've already made a pretty good offer, if only they would increase the years on the deal. Jon Garland is going to only get better. CWSOX45 I am not as optimistic on JG as you are , but I guess we shall see. Yeah, I just hope I'm right about him. We'll just have to wait and see. CWSOX45

You also have to consider all the injuries that plagued the Angels this year. I still think they're a potential playoff team even WITHOUT signing guys like Tejada, Stewart, and Colon. CWSOX45

The Marlins farm system is stocked with young talent last time I checked. Than again they did end up giving away a pretty solid first baseman for Urbina. It was either Jason Stokes or Adrian Gonzalez, one of those two. Both are power hitting first baseman. I actually believe it was Gonzalez but I'm not 100% sure on that. CWSOX45

I agree, we don't need three or four power hitters to win the World Series. Someone needs to inform Reinsdorf of this, so we can spend money on guys we need the most. (Colon) CWSOX45

Jim, I love Willie Harris to death. However I still really like what Robbie brings to the table, he's still solid defensively and continues to get on base. As for Willie, let him play some outfield and infield. Than next year plug him in at second base. CWSOX45

so Thomas has till when to make his decision? Next Sunday? Then if he turns it down the Sox have 5 days afterwards? Is that how it works? Last I heard he has a week after the World Series ends to make his decision, after that I have no idea. CWSOX45

Thomas might not come back, which is fine with me....as for Konerko.... BLAH CWSOX45

I agree Cerb, Gammons only knows what's going on in the Red Sox and Yankee organizations, other than that he doesn't know s***. CWSOX45

Knowing KW that's exactly what he'll do, he'll pull a A La Royce Clayton and trade for the former starter of the team that signs Matsui. (Seattle, Anaheim) CWSOX45

Gonzalez is a solid short stop as is Lee for a firstbaseman. I know the Marlins have some pretty good prospects down in their farm position at first base, If we could get Derek Lee and Gonzalez from Florida with a prospect involved than I'm all for it. CWSOX45

I also am glad the WS is over, now we get to see who goes where. I also am curious to see who our new manager is. CWSOX45

Soxfest, Garland's numbers were good enough to be our number four starter. He's 23 years old and he's getting better every year, if we don't re-sign Colon than it is a must that we get a free agent or trade for a number three. CWSOX45

LMAO. Thanks for posting that Aboz, that's just too damn funny. CWSOX45

That's right, Lieber will be in the rotation next year. I highly doubt that Weaver will be in their rotation, considering they're looking to move him. So their rotation could look like this: 1.Mussina 2. Contreras 3. Lieber Hopefully those other two holes will be filled by Millwood and somebody other than Colon. CWSOX45
-
The Yankees want to move Weaver I think, so basically only three of those guys will be in the rotation. So yeah it doesn't look good for White Sox fans. CWSOX45

If we're going to get Guillen we shouldn't have to give up Lee to get him. Considering that the Mariners are most likely going to sign Kaz Matsui, he should come pretty cheaply. CWSOX45

Trust me he is horrible. He may be aggressive and have a lot of heart but he's not a solid ballplayer and doesn't contribute on a regular basis. The only way the White Sox will ever win anything next year is if we replace our weaknesses. One of our major weakness IMHO is Jose. CWSOX45

Congrats to the Fightin Fish, next year it better be our turn. CWSOX45

Sounds good to me. What is your take on Centerfield. Personally, I have never thought much of Rowand. I would like to see Reed get another year under his belt, and Borchard doesn't appear to be ready. What do we do? I like Aaron Rowand, you've gotta admit the kid has a lot of heart. He hustles his ass off every play. He's the type of guy we need on this team. As for Jeremy Reed, if continues to hit like he is now in spring training there is no need keeping him the minors this year. CWSOX45

Amen. CWSOX45 -
Jason, I agree 100%. Finally I find someone that sees things the same way I do. CWSOX45

i dont know about having Rowand playing LF full time. I'd rather keep Thomas and have Lee in left or even, have Borchard in left or sign a free agent. You gotta count on your corner infielders and outfielders to drive in runs for you. And with Rowand in LF, i dont see him becoming a consistent RBI guy. Reed and Rowand are similar players with Reed being better in most areas. I like having Reed in CF, but i think a winning team would need more production out of their corner outfielders, i dont think Rowand would give enough. We still get the production with Lee batting as a DH. If we do re-sign Thomas he CANNOT bat in the third hole. Batting .250 with runners in scoring position in the three hole won't cut it. I love Frank Thomas to death, but I think the White Sox would be much better off without him. CWSOX45

No. Cabrera would bat second. Only way Reed would bat in first two, is if he was leading off. True. However I heard that Reed isn't exactly as speedy as many make him out to be. Someone told me that his large number of stolen bases in Birmingham was only because of how agressive the Barons were on the basepaths. I think Alomar can still lead off, he draws a lot of walks. The guy still knows how to get on base. CWSOX45

I agree with you Yasny in some ways, however I do not think we will lose all three. Therefore I just want Valentin gone, I don't even know why he considers himself a switch hitter. The guy batted .131 from the right side of the plate, that's unacceptable. Sure Jose can have his "power surges" where he hits three homeruns in two games and than he'll slump for awhile. My point is that there are better options out there than Jose Valentin, and in my opinion getting one of those additions is only going to make this team better. CWSOX45
