  1. I'm with ya, that 5 million can be invested in an area that will actually improve our chances of winning. As for Jose, adios. CWSOX45
  2. I agree. The reported rumor was that the Yankees were willing to offer a contract of 60 million for 5 years. Colon says he wants to return to Chicago, if he truely does than he will be wearing a White Sox uniform next year. CWSOX45
  3. I agree, if Jose Valentin stays with the White Sox this year we aren't going anywhere. The Sox are MUCH better off signing a shortstop or trading for one. CWSOX45
  4. The Sox offer of 36 million for 3 years was plenty of money. I wouldn't go over 12 million for him per season. CWSOX45
  5. Last I heard Matsui was rumored to be heading to Seattle. I highly doubt the Sox are even on his "possible" teams to sign with. He'd fit in great in Seattle with Ichiro and Sasaki. CWSOX45
  6. I will most likely be going on Saturday or Sunday. This will be my 5th or 6th year in a row going. CWSOX45
  7. Didn't KW say that he planned to make the announcement by Thursday? Can anyone verify this? CWSOX45
  8. Man if we could deal Koch that would be great, we just make ourselves stronger without him in our pen. CWSOX45
  9. Wagner? Foulke? Hawkins? C'mon people, aren't you forgetting we have the lethal arm of Billy Koch? CWSOX45
  10. Right on, I had a feeling that L.A. would be interested in him with having McGriff at 1st. I am a huge Frank Thomas fan, but I think Frank would be better off in L.A. CWSOX45
  11. Weaver is a whiny little b****, I don't want him EVER to be wearing a White Sox uniform. Not only that but he's just down right sucked ever since he's put on Yankee pin stripes. CWSOX45
  12. Capn12, I understand, and there's no need for an apology. I would have done the same thing in your situation. Either way that arrogant asshole is gone and now we can continue to talk baseball. CWSOX45
  13. You are the one who claimed that Frank hit .250 with RISP last season. Stating your obvious ignorance on the subject is simply a fact, not a character attack. You do a good job of grinding your own character through the mud. You don't need my assistance for that. I was the one that claimed that, and I was wrong. It happends, I made a mistake I didn't look up the stats and I was wrong? Happy now child? CWSOX45
  14. Yes we're all morons, interesting you seemed to left out out one vital stat about Frank. He hits .250 with runners in scoring position....hmmm..now what was our problem in Minnesota when we were swept? Before you go around calling people idiots, maybe you ought to look at other points of views various posters around here have to offer. If not than you should just leave, because you won't be here long. CWSOX45 Try taking the time to look up his splits before making a statement like this, moron. He did not hit .250 with RISP. It was such a "vital" stat, you couldn't even take the time to look it up. Fine he hit .280 with runners in scoring position, so I was wrong. Big f***in deal, that's still not acceptable as our number three hitter. Our number three hitter is supposed to be our best hitter, Thomas is obviously not. Ordonez or Lee could fill that role just as well if not better. As for you Jeffrey, you need to grow up. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean you have to spout off and go apes*** on the entire Soxtalk community. So far with your posts all you've shown me is that you are incapable of having a good baseball discussion with the rest of us. I will not lower myself to your pathetic level, and will not shoot back childish insults in your direction. So go ahead keep making those smartass and rude responses, cuz you'll be outta here before you know it. CAN YOU SAY....YOU GAWN! CWSOX45
  15. So if we trade Maggs, who hits 3rd, Lee? Yes. Lee has stepped it up in the past and has the potential to put up HUGE numbers when batting in the third hole. In 286 at bats in the number three hole Lee is hitting .277 with 25 homeruns and 73 RBI's. His on-base percentage is 14 points higher than it is in the number 2 hole. What I'm trying to say is that I could live with C Lee batting second or third. CWSOX45
  16. Colon, it's a no brainer. CWSOX45

  18. That really does make me sick. With his performance the last season and a half in a White Sox uniform, I really beleive Paul is actaully stealing money from the Sox. If he has another year like last year....yes he is. CWSOX45
  19. To be honest I don't want to see the Sox make this trade. Sure Soriano has a ton of potential, but he strikes out WAAYYYY too much to be our lead-off guy. If someone can help him cut down his swing than maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea. Nick Johnson has had his moments, however I think he is an overhyped first baseman. As for Jeff Weaver, he's a f***in crybaby. All he does is b**** and moan, and he's really sucked big time in New York. So :fyou Jeff Weaver. CWSOX45
  20. What reasons did it give? KW wants Cito, JR wants Guillen, Bell is the compromise... That whould be the stupidest thing, if they both want different guys, and hire someone they both dont want. If it is Buddy Bell there are going to be a TON of pissed off Sox fans. We get rid of Manuel and the best we can come up with is Bell? That better not happen. CWSOX45

ive followed the Marlins for years, their minor league talent is not even close to what it was three or four years ago IMO. Gonzalez was more of a contact .300/25 guy. Stokes will hit 35+. But the Marlins will be looking for some pitching prospects and corner outfield prospects. They do have Abraham Nunez who has all the potential in the world, but this was his third year in AAA with only minmal improvement Good to hear, I am only familiar with several Marlins players since I work with the Kane County Cougars. Last year they were the Marlins class a affiliate and I got to see Willis and Cabrera play. Thanks for keeping me up to date, after all I don't follow them as closely as I used to considering the A's are our new affiliate. CWSOX45

You also have to consider all the injuries that plagued the Angels this year. I still think they're a potential playoff team even WITHOUT signing guys like Tejada, Stewart, and Colon. CWSOX45 I gotta disagree. Their rotation is awful. They are paying Appier 12 mill next year, Sele 8 mill, Erstad 8 mill, Salmon 8 mill, and Glaus 8 mill. Those guys are all pretty much bums. No one in that group deserves more then 4 mill for what they do. Appier and Sele deserve nothing. Thats 44 mill worth of basically crap. You could equal their production with about 8 mill. Didn't Appier's contract get picked up by the Royals? I could have sworn they released him. I think the Angels have a mediocre rotation at best, Washburn's always been pretty solid and I think Lackey and Ortiz had bad years. Scot Shields looked pretty good as a starter when I saw him as well. I think the Angels are a couple of pieces away from returning to October. CWSOX45
