  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 11:29 PM) If you get beat up in AAA, then you have more problems than your confidence. We shouldn't be babying McCarthy in the minors. If we were to send him down to AA, that might shatter his confidence more than any shelling he'd receive in AAA. Thats why he should have started the season in AA
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) A hah! Look at Contreras, how is he to learn and better himself, especially in the postseason....without confidence????? Contreas= 35 Bmac= 21 Thats a big differnce
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) I severely disagree. McCarthy should be in AAA. It will teach him to keep the ball in the park. In AAA, instead of facing a bunch of prospects who will swing at everything, he'll get more used to facing ex MLB players who might have better strike zone judgment. Remember the game against KC where McCarthy couldn't strike out a single batter? That's something that he needs to improve on. Its hard to learn when you have no confidence
  4. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) And that's Brandon McCarthy this time last season. See the comparison? Yes DBAHO I do thats why a agree with everything you and Kalapse are saying
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 11:17 PM) Comparing him to Gio is totally different. Gio is rated as one of our top pitching prospects. He is succeding in A ball. Gio hasn't pitched in AA, AAA, or Spring Training. No, its the same Gio puts up good numbers in winston salem and if gio were in AAA his numbers would be the same if not worse the McCarthy's.
  6. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 11:12 PM) he is in the majors now... then baj
  7. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 11:12 PM) he is in the majors now... I think he means he wants some stud propect to come up and they way he is pitching im hoping he gets his wish.
  8. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 06:27 PM) I wish we had studs in the minors. Jenks?
  9. I think we need to make some sort of trade, because I dont think we can win the series with this team yes they rule and they are the best team ever but we havent even played are main postseason competition yet the red sox and yankees. This weekend will really show us what kind of team we have. Also, I think we need to make a trade to show the players that we care and want them to win but I hope KW dosent go out there and makes a trade to make a trade. I trust KW will make a trade that will help this team out alot.
  10. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) I'd rather stop Boston from getting Wagner...than get Eddie. Let Boston take the #2 option. Id much rather have wagner no injury risk there
  11. I would take the chance on eddie
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) Right now, I am honestly willing to trade Count, BMac, and Shingo for 1 1/2 seasons of Jason Schmidt....as long as we getr this piece of s*** Contreras out of this f***ing city. Count dosent suck at all.
  13. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) i still think that if a starter goes down we deserve to give neal cotts a chance to start, but then again we don't want to hurt his confidence. We need Neal in the bullpen.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) Yep offensive explosions are definitely atypical for a team that is top 10 in the bigs in runs scored. Do you know what the f*** a 5th starter is supposed to do? Keep you in the game and at the end of season have a record around 500
  15. :headshake Him at the cell would be bad
  16. Thread title says it all we NEED him
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Just think then you might get it
  18. I think he is trying to say he made that picture from total scratch
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) Yes, Jody f***ing Gerut is gonna throw the Cubs on his back and carry them. not if they package cpat and him in a trade to bring another good player there Like a jaun pierre
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) Shouldn't we be happy that the Indians (the team in our division) got the worst of the trade rather than the Cubs (in the other league). It's like Prior ending up on the Cubs instead of the Twins in the draft. We should be glad that we don't have to face Prior in a Twins uni. Im scared this might awaken the cubs chances
  21. alittle late http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37206&st=0
  22. QUOTE(fry the twinkies @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) It ain't over till it's over. did the marlins teach you that in the 2003 nlcs
  23. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) Yeah, when my season ticket holding best friend gave up on the Twins I kinda felt like they were done. I'm not that concerned about the Twins. I will be interested, though, to see what the Twins do by deadline--or in this year's off season. . . Pull some stud out of there minors as usual
