  1. Pods can barely play Left he would suck it center and does when he plays it. IMO Pods would be a much better fielder if he was more agressive there are plenty of catchabal balls that go to the track and as soon and pods hit the track he stops and backoffs and waits for the ball to bounce back to him. Rowand gives it his all and wants to catch everyball hit into the outfield i.e the play in left on thursday or friday.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) No, not that a pitch has been thrown it was a 38 minute delay, which isn't too bad at all. Garland should be alright (thats just like a long inning). But I would probably have him on a shorter rope (pitch count wise). Now if the Sox go on to pound out hits or something the rest of the inning and it turns into an even longer delay, that would be another story. Inning over no need to worry
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) The tarps are off? I'm still getting a rain delay screen on my xtra innings. There playing right now crede just fouled out
  4. They came back without any warning. HAwk goes were back and then there was a pitch no warning what so ever.
  5. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) As they desperately try to find starters, just two words for the Yankees: "El" and "Duque." Unlike several other so-called pitchers they've acquired in recent years, Orlando Hernandez is proven in the American League. More to the point, he's proven in New York. Plus, he's usually a monster in October. And the Yankees shouldn't give up on October. Not yet, they shouldn't. A Yankees person said they actually did call about Hernandez several weeks ago, well before their pitching situation grew this desperate. However, they were told the White Sox couldn't trade Hernandez unless they could first acquire a hard-throwing starter such as A.J. Burnett or Jason Schmidt. The Yankees' own chances to land Burnett took a major hit when Chien-Ming Wang went down with shoulder trouble. Anyway, one scout cautioned, "Burnett's not the guy for New York," adding, "With his stuff, he should be a lot better than [37-38]." Florida seeks a prime major league-ready starter and significant bullpen piece for Burnett, who's in his walk year. The Orioles rebuffed Daniel Cabrera for Burnett. The White Sox probably would have to surrender dynamic young righthander Brandon McCarthy for a shot at Burnett. 3 way deal
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) Did anyone happen to notice what it reads under their photo in that article?
  7. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 12:14 AM) What type of cancer was it? I thought it was testicular but i'm not sure. yah it was
  8. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) The guy battled and won against cancer...I highly doubt it. Yah your probaly right
  9. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 12:00 AM) My younger boy played t-ball this year, and they did keep score. However, none of the kids threw hard enough that if it his another kid it would prevent them from playing! That is just sad. Id imagine if you got hit by a baseball in the head no matter how hard it was thrown it would hurt not keep you out of a game but hurt. Know imagine if you a kid and you got hit by that baseball in the head i doubt your going to play even after your done crying.
  10. QUOTE(Winning Ugly @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) I don't know who started the Peavy rumor, but it's a pipe dream that's not gonna happen. Waste of thread space. We have already established that
  11. Three convicts were on the way to prison. They were each allowed to take one item with them to help them occupy their time while incarcerated. On the bus, one turned to another and said, "So, what did you bring?" The second convict pulled out a box of paints and stated that he intended to paint anything he could. He wanted to become the "Grandma Moses of Jail." Then he asked the first, "What did you bring?" The first convict pulled out a deck of cards and grinned and said, "I brought cards. I can play poker, solitaire, gin, and any number of games." The third convict was sitting quietly aside, grinning to himself. The other two took notice and asked, "Why are you so smug? What did you bring?" The guy pulled out a box of tampons and smiled. He said, "I brought these." The other two were puzzled and asked, "What can you do with those?" He grinned and pointed to the box and said, "Well according to the box, I can go horseback riding, swimming, roller-skating...."
  12. anybody here think lowell used roids and thats why he sucks now?
  13. I like it when DJ does the commentary for the sox on fox not as much mistakes.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) Ya they only have 7 days to research the matchup Some of them do commentary for other teams when there not doing it for Fox.
  15. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) I know what you mean about the Fox announcers... I heard them say that AJ had the only Sox grand slam all year.... Yeah... Too bad thats wrong... What a bunch of morons... I heard that too... But i dont balme them because they dont watch every game and follow them as closely as we do.
  16. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) Positive. well your probaly right since qwerty knows everything
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) Cheesus lice... crede is not a free agent at the end of the year. are you sure I could have sworn he was
  18. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:45 PM) Fields' line at Birmy -- .250/.323/.414. Not exactly setting the world on fire, though those are decent after his first half. Just saying, we shouldn't be using "Fields will be ready soon" as an excuse not to get another thirdbaseman. That's not to say I'm for Lowell, 'cause I'm not. He's slumping, really bad -- heck, Scott Podsednik's only slugging .007 points less than him. That's bad. I'm actually against the Contreras/Marte for Burnett deal, too -- 'cause I don't think giving up that is worth Burnett. Truth be told, if Williams could pull of a deal that got us Guardado/Wagner and a long relief, swingman type, I'd be so pleased. Wagner is going to be the hot target in the next two-three weeks, so I'd be extremely happy with Guardado. ^^^^^^^^^ All we need is a good realiver/closer can you really trust hermanson to do this all season. We dont need a starter in the playoffs you only need 4 starters so it dosent matter about el duque in the playoffs. If Duque can pitch decent the rest of the way I will be happy because he did his job and dosent need to pitch in the playoffs.
  19. QUOTE(toasty @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:45 PM) I wouldnt say that just yet, crede isnt super star yet, hopefully not outrageous demands for him if scott boras is your agent you are going to be asking for outrages amounts no matter what
  20. wow just wow its fricken t-ball who cares who wins or loses
  21. QUOTE(toasty @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:32 PM) i dont think we want lowell either, too much money for too long of time, fields should be ready sooner, rather than later, if crede's back becomes a permanent issue Crede wont be on the team next year anyway because of Scott Boras
  22. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) ^ you seen the show, its hilarious when he says that. Ive seen that show and i thought it was so stupid it was funny
  23. Why would widger play for the second time is 2 days?
  24. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) Buster Olney was on ESPN and claimed the Sox were still in it for Burnett, and Florida is insisting they take Lowell. He said the Sox could absorb some money and spin either Lowell or Crede somewhere else. A lot of teams are looking for thirdbaseman. He also mentioned Wagner and the Sox in the same sentence. Said this is the White Sox "window of opportunity" and that they will do whatever it takes. I woudnt want lowell at all though he is doing really bad this year
  25. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) I know we all love Pods, but does he strike anyone else as just an average baserunner? Maybe he just has too much confidence in his speed, but he's been gunned down at home mulitiple times on a groundouts. usually he is going on contact i dont see a problem in it
