Everyone against Sale in the bullpen might change their tune even if he pitches well, when he loses all of his leads because our bullpen sucks.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 02:36 AM) No offense, man, but that reeks of "separate but equal" doctrines that led to the civil rights movement. ADA laws require reasonable accomodations for public facilities, and it's ridiculous that movie theaters have been able to get away with it for so long. And why should I, and millions of other people with hearing disabilities, be deprived of enjoying a movie just because other people "don't want to see annoying subtitles" on the screen? It's not fair, really. I think seeing handicap parking spaces in parking lots is annoying, but I put up with it anyway. "Reasonable accomadations" is a subjective term, and it would be up to a judge to decide what reasonable means in cases like these. Also, its not separate but equal if non hearing impaired individuals can attend the theaters as well. But I don't think an entire theater like that would be the best answer anyways. I definitely think that the theaters should have 1-3 screens that play movies with subtitles. They could rotate the movies every week, so that everyone would get a chance to see all of the movies while they are out.

QUOTE (chwhtsox @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) I can't argue any of your points, the only thing I can say is that at least there's action every week. They definitely had to take them out of Charming for awhile though, if they stayed there every season the show wouldn't last long. They are taking for granted that the audience gives a s*** about Tara and whether she gets abducted, the new recruits in Charming look like high school kids that get picked on and the Able storyline has been old since the second week. With all that being said, it is my favorite show going right now (sitting next to The League). I don't know, this season hasn't really kept me interested at all. Now that Boardwalk Empire, Survivor, and Dexter are on I am having a hard time finding time to watch Sons, and it hasn't bothered me where last season it would have. I actually defended the slow story lines a few weeks back in this thread, but its getting to the point where something has to happen soon.

QUOTE (Pale Sox @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 11:48 AM) I see what you're saying, but I think it makes more sense to have an inexperienced catcher with a veteran rotation. If you have an inexperienced rotation THAT is when you're going to really want the veteran presence behind the plate to guide the kid pitchers along. Thats true, but it could hurt guys who rely on working fast and never shake off the pitch call like MB and Danks.

While they were an overall disappointment this year, we still have one more year with potentially one of the best starting staffs in baseball. For next year, I want an established vet putting down the signs. Not to say it has to be AJ, but its not the time to bring up an inexperienced catcher.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 11:14 AM) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Greatest game ever, no arguments I swear to God I was just thinking that! Would definitely be my number one. That monster at the end was vicious. I'm gonna have to buy a 64 again just to play that.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 10:02 AM) How about favorite beers to drink while playing video games? Brings back memories of Mario Kart and Busch Light from the college days lol.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 09:16 AM) For me, it's more the point that ni is not a beer drinker. He puts a ton of time into doing the off-season SoxTalk lists and does an outstanding job of it, so I'd at least like him to enjoy the subject matter of the lists he's compiles. As for video games, I'd love an old fart offshoot list that just considered back-in-the-day coin-op arcade games. It was a totally different world when you had to sup[port your habit a quarter at a time down at the burnout arcade. Oh thats true. Video games would make for an odd list. I'm not sure how a video game list would turn out really. It would either be a mixture of current and old school games, or 20 games that one generation hasn't played. Personally I am 24 and I would vote for a lot of NES, Sega Genesis, and Nintendo 64 games. People older would probably vote more Arcade games, and younger would vote for XBox, and PS3 games. Maybe we should add a pole with the top ideas from this thread and vote on which list to do?
-
If we can't do beer because not everyone drinks, I think video games would be out because not everyone plays video games. I bet there are more people on here that drink beer than play video games.

I kind of like the moments in U.S history idea now...

QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 10:26 AM) Can't teams get their own new theme songs? I understand he's from S.F., but come on. We made this ours in 2005. There's not enough songs out there to find a different one? Really? If this was a facebook status I would "like" it

This thread makes me think of a defensive infield that could have been: Uribe - 3b, Ramirez - SS, Beckham/Vizquel - 2b, Konerko - 1b. Absolute canons at 3b and SS, and some real solid gloves on the other side. And I don't understand the Rowand hate (or I guess its more indifference?) in this thread. People saying they could care less about Rowand while they root for Uribe. I'm pretty sure it was the opposite while they were here.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) I love that show because there are very few likable characters. That sounds odd. Found a place that is selling the Complete Series of "The SHield" on DVD for $69. Got it for my dad for Christmas. I have never seen the show and will watch it when he is done, but he likes those types of shows. Great show. Its better that you got the dvds and can watch it from start to finishe then if you had tried to start watching it somewhere in the middle when it was on tv. The series refers back to the first episode in just about every season right until the end. Just watch the first one and you'll be hooked

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) Id like to think this will be Lovies farewell tour but who knows what theyll do with 1 year left on his deal. At least Martz was only signed for 1, I believe. I don't care who the offensive coordinator is, they aren't going to succeed with an O-line that can't block anyone. I'm defending Martz because I think it is pretty obvious they should be attempting to run more, but you need an offensive line to do that as well.

QUOTE (docsox24 @ Oct 21, 2010 -> 10:08 AM) I havent seen it, how is it? The Shield is my favorite show of all time. I have all the seasons on DVD and plan on watching them again in about 20 years when I forgot everything that happened. Agreed. I've already seen some of the seasons twice. I can't imagine a show more well written than The Shield.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 11:46 AM) I posted the same thing after last weeks episode. Nothing is even happening. I hope Shane gets killed. Nancy is the worst mother of all time. I hope that was the writers intention because I don't even find her attractive anymore because of it. I haven't been watching this season, but I am disappointed the way the show turned out. Ever since they left Agrestic the show has been pretty bad.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) Yeah? Well the Jerk Store called and they are runnin outta you! Haha I haven't had an opportunity to make a good "your mom" joke in awhile.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 11:32 AM) Now that "Mad Men" is over, my mom and I have nothing in common until next season. Except that you both bang a lot of dudes!

I am amazed that some of these shows were on for such a short period of time. http://www.sporcle.com/games/ImmaCouchPotato/nick_in_the_90s

FX pretty much can't make a bad show. I can't remember a show on that station that has not been successful except for Dirt (and I'm talking since The Shield became popular). Although a lot of their shows lose steam (i.e. Nip Tuck, Rescue Me) they all seem to have at least 3 or 4 good season. And I am excited for season 2 of Justified as well. I was getting bored with it in the middle for a little bit, but it really picked up the last few episodes. I'm glad I stuck with it. I haven't caught Terriers yet just because there is too much s*** on tv right now and I don't have time to watch it all right now. Hell, this fall I watch on Sunday what I used to watch in an entire week.
