  1. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:31 PM) So you're willing to erase a career of mediocrity from Mr. Scotty, all in favor of what he has accomplished in 3 weeks, playing for a bad Kansas City team? Cool, sounds like a plan. If it meant I would have never gotten to watch Pierre in a White Sox uniform then hell yes. Its not so much that I like Pods, its that I hate Pierre. Scotty is overachieving like hell to start this season. I fully expect him to bat around .280 with a good amount of stolen bases and maybe even a few home runs.
  2. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:30 PM) What? Are you really equating the CY Young Winner with Scott Podsednik? You wanna stretch anymore on this metaphor? Haha no. You basically said that we don't want a player because he is on an 8-13 team. I'm just trying to say that there can be difference makers on losing teams, where judging by your previous post, you don't think there can be.
  3. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) Truth. Scott Podsednik's hot start to the season has single-handedly carried the Kansas City Royals... ...to an 8-13 start. Get over it. Pods is s***, Pierre is just a bigger turdstain than Pods is. I'll take neither of the above, thanks. Your right, because he is on a losing team he is not making a difference. I bet you wouldn't have taken Zach Greinke in the White Sox rotation last year either?
  4. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) So how s***-tastic has Peavy looked? Based on his statline, he was uber-s***-tastic. He has had 1 really bad inning and 4 really good ones.
  5. Any Pods hater wanna keep defending Pierre with the "Pods is more injury prone, we will see at the end of the year" argument? I would take what Pods has done so far this year, and if he got injured on the next play of the game it would have been better than watching Pierre play the rest of this season...
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:08 PM) Unless you have a team of Jacoby Ellsburys, nothing can prevent tailor made double plays. Well my train of thought was more towards eliminating the double plays that normally wouldn't be if it wasn't for our slow ass lineup last year. Now we just hit a lot more easy ground balls. P.S. WHY IS KOTSAY STILL IN THE LINEUP. I DONT CARE WHAT ARM THE PITCHER THROWS WITH! AND OMAR VIZQUEL IS 103 YEARS OLD! GREAT IF HE IS TUTORING ALEXEI AT SS! THEY HAVE A NAME FOR PEOPLE WHO DO THAT, THEY ARE CALLED COACHES! And thats my rant for the day, thank you very much
  7. I thought the GIDP's would be signifcantly lower in number this year with the increase in speed in our lineup. Boy was I wrong...
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 07:30 PM) 4.68 is mediocre and even moreso if we are talking about since Opening Day, not sure what you're trying to say. I gave no indication at all that Peavy hasn't been complete and utter s*** for us so far. I'm trying to say that is a pretty big difference. Peavy is getting crap because he has been a lot worse than Mark. MB has been mediocre while Peavy has been terrible. If the stats were switched I'm sure Mark would be getting from the people around here, and we would be hearing less about Peavy
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 07:25 PM) Buehrle has been mediocre at best this year since that Opening Day gem, and he's kind of getting a pass on it while fans are reaming Peavy every time he goes out there, calling him a bust, etc. Mark's ERA = 4.68 Peavy's ERA = 7.66 (before tonight)
  10. I don't know what some of you are watching, but from my perspective, Pierre's arm is awful and even worse than Podsednik's. That throw to 2nd was brutal. Anyone with a half decent arm out there, and the runner isn't even trying for 2nd.
  11. Anyone catch Survivor? Another great week. First crazy blindside in two seasons that wasn't orchestrated by Russell

Did CST today. Tough as ever. Upper body will be dead until I wake up tomorrow morning.
  13. As much as some people around here hated Pods, I already hate Pierre 10x more

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 04:43 PM) Just did plyo for the second time. I couldn't hang with them the entire time, but I did much better than the first round. I remember the 2nd time I did it, I did a lot of the exercises for 20 seconds instead of 30 so I could finish. I can do them all for the complete time now, but I can't keep up with the speed rounds on some of them that they do for the last 10-15 seconds of some of the exercises. Its a process, and I get better every week pretty much
  15. 24 was awesome again tonight. After the first half of the season, I thought it was about time for the show to end, but now I'm not so sure. The show has been almost as good as ever the past few weeks. I hope they do the movie right...

QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 07:28 PM) Nice job, shack. I really want to do this or Insanity at some point, but I'm afraid to overdo it with my running goals this year. Also, I don't know how apartment friendly this thing would be, being that I'm on the top floor of my building. Most of it would be fine except for plyometrics. You jump like crazy in plyo, but u can replace it with the cardiox (which im not really sure about bc i havent tried it)

Haha I'm glad you guys are back. I thought I was going to have to post by myself in here for a while... And LZ, I drink about a glass of choclate milk after plyo, kenpo, and core. Works well enough for me. I follow that with a protein shake about a half hour later.
  18. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 09:08 AM) At least he was on base to get picked off. Yeah how terrible. He got picked off after driving in the game tying run. He should be more like Pierre and just ground out to second base instead...
  19. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) Pods with an RBI single to tie the game, then gets picked off of first. Suprise! Good thing we got Pierre because he never gets picked off. Although he does spend significantly less time on the bases than Pods so far...
  20. QUOTE (qwerty @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 08:52 AM) Just a tiny bit of sarcasm on my part... My view of podsednik had been well stated since the day he was brought in via trade. I am easily one of the top five podsednik bashers (for good reason), but i have given up talking about him much the last couple years. Only capn and kalapse compare, fathom does not like anyone... so he doesn't count. Jphat who once highly disliked the man is now apparently infatuated. I personally hate to even look at podsednik. Something about him irks me. I don't understand that out of all of the player on our team last year that failed consistently at the plate, some people here still carried a hate for Pods. Yes, he did make a lot of base running mistakes, but that is because he was one of the hitters on our team who would actually be on base. He was around .300 his entire time in a White Sox uniform last year. Some of you wanna say that having a guy who is hitting like Podsednik wouldn't be HUGE right now. With all the close games we have had and lost, someone hitting over .240 that can steal bases might have made a big difference.
  21. I feel like just as the older generation talks about Mickey Mantle and Ted Williams is how I will talk about Mark 30 years from now. Telling stories to the kids about how a pitcher who threw mostly in the high 80's threw a perfect game, retired all 27 in a no hitter, and saved a game in the World Series. And that is just the tip of the iceberg from a guy who if you saw him pitch for the first time would never have guessed that a guy with his stuff could accomplish all of those things
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) I think a lot of guys could have managed that team to a WS. I disagree. Managing starting pitching and bullpens these days is not easy, and when a team without a ton of offensive bats wins the world series, using the starters and bullpen without much error is the only way a team like that can go all the way
  23. But on the bright side, at least Hawk didn't yammer on about how we got shut down by great pitching like he usually does when it is obvious it has much more to do with our terrible hitting than the pitching
  24. Watching this team is just no fun. Especially knowing what they could have been. Instead we get Pierre, Kotsay, and Vizquel...
  25. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 08:18 PM) Probably? We have lost every game so far where we've given up 4 or more. I am assuming that we may eventually win one or two 5-4 games
